CLMMRH head thanks mayor for city’s help (http://www.visayandailystar.com/2012/January/27/topstory10.htm)

The head of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Dr. Julius Drilon, thanked Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia for the city’s full support in the great improvement and development of the CLMMRH, a press release from City Hall said.

In his letter to the mayor, Drilon said that the latter’s full support was very instrumental in steering CLMMRH to the right track and because of that, the hospital is now moving towards becoming a provider of quality, accessible, yet affordable health, especially to the poorest of the poor.

The Hospital Chief lamented the state of health care service available at the hospital when he joined it in June of 2011. He said he found the status then “appalling” and that a lot needed to be done, the release also said.

Drilon said CLMMRH looks forward to a stronger teamwork with the city, as they work hand-in-hand towards achieving “Universal Health Care” for Filipinos.

Leonardia, meanwhile, thanked Senator Franklin Drilon for donating P100 million to the CLMMRH for the rehabilitation of the hospital. It is a fact that many patients in the hospital are Bacoleños seeking medical care and hospitalization at a more affordable rate.*

About the Festival:
Capture the essence of Negros Occidental in the annual celebration of Panaad sa Negros Festival every April in Bacolod City.

Dubbed the “Festival of Festivals”, Panaad (Hiligaynon for a vow and its fulfillment) is a colorful and jubilant presentation of individual festivals of the 13 cities and 19 municipalities of Negros Occidental. It presents Bacolod City’s famous Masskara, La Carlota’s rhythmic Pasalamat, San Carlos City’s multi-awarded Pintaflores, Kabankalan City’s Sinulog, Bago City’s Babaylan, Escalante City’s Manlambus, Sagay City’s Sinigayan, Cadiz City’s Dinagsa, Mambukal’s Mudpack, San Enrique’s Bulang-Bulang, La Castellana’s Bailes de Luces, Don Salvador Benedicto’s Kali-Kalihan, and many more.

It brings together the 32 LGUs in an array of theme booths that showcase their history, arts and culture, tourism, commerce, trade and industry, in the 25-hectare eucalyptus trees-lined Panaad Park and Sports Complex.

Panaad is also a time renewing bonds or initiating friendships. The festival attracts most of the 2.6 million-strong Negrenses, their balikbayan relatives and friends, who get a glimpse of the best offerings of the towns and cities in a tour of the uniquely designed booths, as well as in cultural presentations and friendly competitions for beauty, talent, skills, and in sports.

Free shows or concerts by popular Manila-based artists add fun and excitement to the festivities. The fun continues in the food and drinks alley that offer the famous chicken inasal, grilled fish and seafood, including various shellfish, oysters, and scallops. Local bands perform nightly till way past midnight in the food and drinks alley.

Panaad also features the gains the province has achieved in its diversification efforts and its priority agenda, particularly in Food Sufficiency and Agricultural Productivity. It is seriously developing its rice and corn industries and positioning livestock as its second major industry, next to sugar.

With the Negrenses’ pioneering spirit, Negros is no longer just sugar; it is also cutflowers and ornamentals, high value fruits and organically-grown vegetables, prawns and seafood, champion fighting cocks, exquisite handcrafted gift items and houseware, world-class furniture and garments, and many more.

Panaad is a thanksgiving celebration and an exhibition of the best of Negros Occidental… now, “Sugar… and more!”

share ko lang ah, kanami basahon...good morning everyone..:)

Sipalay, Sugar Beach
Just a quick warning to anyone heading to Sugar Beach, Sipalay in next few days. Just spent 4 days there and really struggled to find a place to stay. For example both Sulu Sunset and Driftwood were fully booked and luckily I found a good bungalow elsewhere. Others were not so lucky, saw few people arrive, search around for an hour and just leave, as absolutely no vacancies at all. Beach wasnt busy as never gets busy there, just not enough rooms available. If your planning on going soon, best to book ahead and make sure you have a place to stay..
Hi Loubbylou, only saw 3 Koreans, but lots of European travellers, mostly young, turning up with no obvious plans of where to stay. Think the problem is that as theres only a handful of small resorts to stay at, even with a small increase in people arriving it fills up real quick. And I guess more and more people are hearing about how nice it is there...
people don't leave either, there was guy been there for months when I was there. I really am not the type to hang around beaches but we stayed a week and I really didn't feel like leaving either, its funny because there really isn't much to do there. If the PI is about slacker mentality then sugar beach is the epicenter
For me it the quietness there, no noise apart from the occasional bird singing, the odd bellowing cow, the sound of the wind, thats about all you can hear there. No tricycles, no loud music, nothing... perfect..

no wonder, Sipalay is our "Best Kept Secret"..

4 weeks Visayas - Where are fellow travellers and where to surf..
Hi Guys and Gals,

I'm a male solo traveller from Germany in my early 30s and will be staying in the Philippines for 4 weeks in february. I will arrive in Cebu on the 8th and plan on discovering the Visayas from there.

My main focus is on diving, partying and enjoying the sweet life on the beach :) Surfing is something that I'd love to learn over there.

So far I have checked the places that I like to visit which will be:

Cebu
Malapascua Island
Moalboal
Siquijor
Dumaguete
Apo Island
Sipalay
Bacolod
Boracay

Sugarcane rebounds

Sugarcane rose from the doldrums and outperformed other Philippine crops in 2011, registering that year four successive quarters of production increases highlighted by triple-digit growth rates during the April-June and July-September periods.

Data released by the Department of Agriculture this week show the country's 2011 sugarcane production volume totaled nearly 28.40 million metric tons - 58.27 percent higher than the 17.93 million MTs this crop posted in 2010.

In 2010, nationwide sugarcane production dipped 21.82 percent below its 2009 level of 22.93 million MTs.

The data further show value of sugarcane production at constant prices hit P22.42 billion in 2011, exceeding the P14.16 billion such crop posted in 2010.

Lupit Church has an interesting structure as it features a belfry that sits atop the main entrance to the church as compared to other churches where the bell tower is usually set on the side or apart from the main structure. The patron of the church is the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Flanking the church are two smaller chapels that bear a similar look. As of this writing the chapel on the right side of the church is under construction.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! LOL!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

PMO Pulupandan is number 1 in the region when it comes to passenger traffic...

nano man ni ang bacolod man daw gapang garit2x gd, number 1 sa region in registered vehicles, number 1 sa seaport passenger traffic and soon to be number 1 sa airport traffic? lol indi lg anai sa airport pls basi may maghikog hahaha

^^ Aguy!!! Aslum naman kag pait ni ang ugumun sang iban?!?!?!?! Naku!!!:lol::lol::lol:

^^1,5 millions in their mind, maybe a million slept inside their minds.

^^ Hahahahaha basi migs Millions of Coliforms? Ay billions gali... LOL :lol::lol::lol:

Could be million sheeps counted mig.. Ara ha totyal pa na kay sheep, indi kanding. :D

^^ Meee Meee!!! ay sorry, Baaaa Baaaa gali... LOL :lol::lol:

That was last year figure I guess but estimate crowd nila this year 1.2 M. Amo ni ang effect sang damo nga Domestic flight?? or basi ang 300,000 visitors nila nagsaylo sa BacaLaodiat :lol:

^^ Hahahahaha basi migs nalumutan ang Grandslam??? Kita nyo naman guro ang number of SPECTATORS sa Sports Complex ah... ang isa lang ka portion sang Sports Complex ang napuno kag amo lang na ang gina focus sang camera nila para kuno abi damu kuno... TAN-AWA BALA MAG PANAAD! Kay Bilog nga 25 Hectares HINDI MAHULUGANG KARAYUM!!! Ang Panaad ya BOASTS of having at least 300,000 FOOT TRAFFIC EVERYDAY and ang pinakataas nila nga FOOT TRAFFIC 650,000 2011 Panaad!!! Indi na ya hambal hambal lang ha... LOL...:lol::lol::lol:

^^how do you call that migs? dwindling? retrogressing? deteriorating?

^^ A disease??? Ay sus, Sowee... :)

^^since giving unsolicited advice is "in", why not repackage it like what masskara did. aside from the usual "street dancing", it evolved and came up with electric masskara. how about staging something similar to that?

^^ Pwede man migs ah... anyway, wala guid kaso kung i share sang Masskara sa ila ang Success Story... :) :) :)

How about "electric Ati" galing ngipon Lang ma kitan pero maayo Lang Kung may ngipon...just a thought.

Lol nakatawa man ko migs ba. Pero seriously, indi pwede pang gab-i ang costumes tuod kay indi kitaon :lol::lol: And this only proves nga ka modern gid sang thinking sang Bacolod kay ang Masskara indi religious nga festival. It can always evolve with the times.:cheers::cheers:

^^ Korek na Korek ka guid da ya migs... :okay::okay:

w00t~ expect another grand celebration of Panaad Fest, the mother of all festivals which other provinces are trying to emulate in promoting a stronger tourism base.

Halin sg una Negros has always been able evolve into something more dynamic and progressive, always happy to share our best practices to our neighboring provinces so they too can progress and rise from the ashes of poverty just like we did. Unlike sg iban na opisyo pamantay para butungon kita paidalum kundi sila ang nag usmod sarurot padalom, talk about bad karma tsk tsk...

Padayon sa good news and progress, morning pips

^^ Provinces who took inspiration from Panaad are Neg Oriental (Buglasan), Bicol Region (Magayon??? Correct), Pangasinan and anu pa guid gani man????

^^can't imagine what negros will become if these energy sources which are already at hand and available will be tapped. this translates to reliable, sufficient and affordable power which investors are looking at before venturing into business.:) ara na sa aton tanan, ethanol, biomass, hydro, geothermal. no need for coal.

maayong aga bacolod kag negros occ.

^^ Haaaaaaaaaaaaaay NEGROS IS REALLY SOARING TO GREATEST HEIGHTS!!!

^^amo na ya migs....bacolod doesn't need to push itself to be recognized because industry players knew that we are among the cities in the country along with cebu and davao that presence of the BPO sector is felt.:)

^^ TO cut it short migs... Indi ya KSP ang Bacolod... KUSANG NAPAPANSIN ANG NATURAL NA GANDA NG BACOLOD DAHIL HINDI TAYO TRYING HARD NA NAGPAPAGANDA! :) :) :)

Political moves lang ni ni Obama para maghamot siya sa mga voters. They risk themselves further economic deterioration if they do not outsource. American companies will suffer if they limit their labor force locally, and that will translate to more job loss, and syempre lower taxes.

One way or another every country is already outsourcing a part of its business functions. The moment makipag trade ka sa iban nga country, gina outsource mo na nga daan ang raw material, labor kag production sang goods. Bisan North Korea na gid gani nga hermit state na naga outsource pa :lol::lol:

Ang kulbaan lang sang pinas is kun magsagad na sa English ang iban nga developing countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar. Kun mag abot ang ina nga time te daw need ta na gid magwaras siguro. Pero I have reason to believe that we will be past the BPO stage when that time comes.

^^ By that time migs, The Philippines will once again become an Economic Powerhouse... WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?!?!?! And based sa trends, ga IMPROVE naman guid liwat ang Quality of Education sang Philippines ah...:banana::banana::banana:

daw nakobot man ko ba.....kun sa Tagalog pa "di mahulugang karayom"

Never expected celebrations te be such crowd drawers as big as this!:banana::banana:

So daw indi mag hinulsol kun mag inagaway ang mga artista, promoters, events coordinators and business investors sa Bacolod kay kita nila ang potential :banana:

^^ Thats half of what should have been theirs on their festival doc... gintunga guid kay man kabalo guid ang mga promoters nga MAY IBATO GUID ANG BACOLAODIAT SA GINAPABUGAL GUID NGA GRANDSLAM FESTIVAL...:banana::banana::banana::banana:

^^anywhere you go @doc..be it in BGC or in Lacson st., big crowd is a usual sight whenever there is an event or festivity.:)

^^ Bal-an mo ya migs, INDI MANUL ang mga taga Bacolod... WE REALLY KNOW HOW TO PARTY REAL GOOD!!! Indi trying hard to party ah...:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Please watch this film... this is about our history here in Negros... :D

For the first time in Philippine cinema, a full-length documentary film on the struggling sugar industry of the island of Negros and how a piece of crystallized grain could affect a whole island of 2.7 million people! At the turn of the 20th century, Negrense “hacienderos” (sugarcane land owners) were the richest and their farm workers the highest paid in the country. But in a span of a century, the Negros sugar industry plunged from its proverbial pedestal into its inglorious present state. Why is the industry in peril? Is it, indeed, a flailing sunset industry? Filmmaker J Abello, a former sugarcane farm manager, offers a glimpse of the island’s turbulent history through dramatic and controversial video: lavish parties of Negros sugar barons, candid interviews with hacienderos, never before seen footage of Negros island…and more. “Pureza: The Story of Negros Sugar” traces the history of the Negros sugar industry as it faces strife and discord in the advent of the 21st century. House to call special election for Iggy's successor
By Jess Diaz (The Philippine Star) Updated January 29, 2012 12:00 AM Comments (0)

MANILA, Philippines - The House of Representatives will most likely call for a special election to elect the successor of Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo of Negros Occidental’s fifth district.

Arroyo died on Thursday at a London clinic due to liver cirrhosis.

“We will approve a resolution asking the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to conduct a special election in Iggy’s district. The conduct of the election will depend on whether the Comelec has funds for such purpose,” Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II said yesterday.

In the meantime, he said Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. intends to appoint a caretaker of Arroyo’s district possibly from among House members from Negros Occidental.

Mayo Eh. I read that in the news as well.

Anyway. We were like having some coffee earlier. I ask the Buildings Admin of San Parq. Do you have any Idea of how the building would look like if there's no Oil Station Beside?

I was answered by a simple - It would be have been different. Issue goes with the owner of the station doesnt want to sell the property.

The Building was designed in different ways as the wind and the structure should "contemplate" with the surrounding vicinity. I asked, what do you mean Contemplate?

I was answered, well simple: It shouldnt look too much of an Eysore for the buildings to be constructed at the back.

Then I asked, At the back? Are they going to consturct some buildings there? ( Pasimple ).

Responde, Yeah, its a big complex, Project would start this year daw.

Siling ko, weeeh. I doubt it, there is no such money to roll in this city.

I was responded, Says Who?

Then I smiled. hahahaha

There, Says who, that there is no money to roll here?

^^good as confirmed na gali nga there are several buildings more planned in the sanparq complex. most complexes in bacolod migs are bankrolled by local investors that run in billions, sanparq, cdip, yanson's, gonzaga's east block, lopue's transcom city, palanca's bredco just to name a few.:)

^^ The shell oil station migs is owned by the Jalandoni's so its quite impossible that it was foreclosed by a Bank... The Jalandoni's are Filthy Rich... BUT WHO KNOWS??? NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE ika nga...

BagoSphere celebrates Inaugural Culminating Ceremony for its Pilot Project 2011

http://resources0.mynewsdesk.com/files/23319f183208a88aabe03027347e0c87/resources/ResourceImage/large/dsc_2320.jpg

Bago City, Negros Occidental – BagoSphere proudly hosted its Inaugural Culminating Ceremony for its Pilot Project at Bago City Community Centre on Monday, 12th December 2011. 14 graduates were honoured for their commitment, hard work and achievement at BagoSphere. In attendance were numerous distinguished guests, including Mayor Ramon D. Torres, Attorney Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, representatives from Bago City Government, NGOs and various colleges, call centres leaders; and also families and friends of the graduates.

The theme of the graduation ceremony, “Witness Our Change, Share Our Success” celebrates the transformation of 14 rural youths through 4 months of intensive English language and technical training. Other than equipping students with the proper skill set for the call centre industry, BagoSphere’s pilot project has also facilitated employment opportunities for these students who mainly come from underprivileged families in Bago City. Out of the 14 graduates, 12 of them have successfully secured employment with two major call centres in Bacolod, namely Transcom and Panasiatic Solutions. The project has provided a holistic education which also focused strongly on character building for every individual.

“Despite their high school graduate background, BagoSphere’s students have shown that they are equally competent as their college graduate counterparts,” said Therese L. Nolasco, Human Resource Manager of Panasiatic Solutions. “Most of all, I was deeply impressed by their significantly higher levels of motivation and commitment. I look forward to BagoSphere’s future batches of students, whom I believe will be of quality calibre and character.”

Dr Deborah E. Singson, College Department Head from Bago City College also acknowledged the transformation of one graduate, Ramon Camilo Murillo. “I am very touched to see how much Ramon has changed over the 4 months of training by Bagosphere. Back then, he spoke only a few words of English. But now he is confident and fluent as the Master of Ceremony for this graduation!”

With the graduation of this inaugural class, BagoSphere plans to expand classes in Bago City and benefit more youths in 2012.

Juvic Pagunsan did what he does best to beat an elite field, coming through with an explosive eagle-spiked windup of 69 to post a whopping four-stroke victory over Elmer Salvador and annex his third The Country Club Invitational here yesterday.

The runaway victory, worth another P1.45 million he received from ICTSI chair and CEO Ricky Razon, came after he nipped Frankie Miñoza in a playoff in 2006 and in 2008 when he dominated the same field. But his latest win only re-staked his claim as the country’s premier shotmaker and it came one month after he rose to the top of the Asian Tour.

Leonardia bats for tourism

| More |
Monday, January 30, 2012

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia graced the opening of Kyoken Travel & Tours owned and operated by April Mendoza Kitagawa, a Bacolodnon.

Leonardia said he is pleased that something like this is happening in Bacolod because, whenever business and travel comes up, he remembers the time when tourism was just starting to do well in Bacolod City.

Leonardia shared his experience with the Koreans.

“I was in a coffee shop and there were many Koreans. I talked to them. I welcome them officially to Bacolod and I told them that we are happy that they are happy being in the city. When these people experience good times in Bacolod and when they go back to their respective places, they become our walking advertisements.

Kitagawa said she is also grateful that Mayor Leonardia motivates investors to come to Bacolold. She hopes that everything will thrive as she starts her business in the city, citing that Bacolod is truly conducive for business and investment.

City, bizmen seek win-win solution on code implementation

| More |
Monday, January 30, 2012

THE Bacolod City Government and business organizations are looking for common ground on how they can derive a win-win solution in the implementation of the Revised Revenue Code.

City Councilor Al Victor Espino, City Council chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means, said they had a dialog with businessmen -- Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other business organizations -- recently where they discussed the concerns and solutions that they can possibly arrive at.

He added that they gave copies to the stakeholders and generated comparative models against Iloilo, Talisay, Bago and San Carlos Cities.

“The reason for this is these cities are the cities that surround Bacolod City as well as Iloilo... I am confident that even with the revisions, our taxes are still and will be competitive compared to those cities.”

Ayala joins call for COA to
rule on contracts soon

Borromeo said the North Point Technohub has a total area of 12 hectares for Business Process Outsourcing facilities and retail strip.

The Technohub with 5,000 square meters BPO or call center is Philippine Economic Zone Authority accredited, she said. The building is already finished and it has five restaurant spaces for al fresco dining, she added.

Borromeo said the Metro Gaisano Hypermart, which has approximately 5,000 square meters leasable space, and the retail strip with 10,000 leasable space, will be launched by the fourth quarter of the year.
Gig Hugo, head of Ayala Land Premier, said ALI remains very optimistic about the Bacolod and Negros markets and these projects are very clear indications of the commitment of Ayala Land to turn that optimism into reality.

Ayala joins call for COA to rule on contracts soon
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The Ayala Land Inc. opened its third residential development project, Verdana Homes Asyana, Saturday at the North Point Estate in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The Verdana Homes Asyana is a 22-hectare property adjacent to the Plantazionne Verdana Homes.

Mayi Platero, ALI senior division manager, said Phase 3 has the best Asian inspired villages for young active families and its pocket parks are inspired by four natural elements: wood, wind, water and earth.

She said the area will provide residents an array of retail business and institutional establishments within the community which is the first of its kind in Negros.

Phase three has 116 lots averaging 250 square meters which are reasonably sized and reasonably priced, she said.

Buyers of lots in Phase 3 can start building their houses by the second quarter of 2013 because they expect to finish this phase by the first quarter, she said.

Ma. Therese Borromeo, ALI branch manager for Negros, said Phase 1 is already sold out and there are only nine lots left in Phase 2

Meatshop opens

A new meat shop opened in Bacolod City Friday at the S+P Building, Tindalo Avenue, Capitol Shopping Center.

Its general manager, Johnny Magno, said the Bahamas Meatshop uses pork from the Duroc breed swine which they raise in their farm in Victorias City.

He said Duroc pork has excellent marbling that brings the tenderness and juiciness of the meat, great color, leanness, and texture, and it is also rich in flavor.

He also said they follow the Canadian Pork Standard from farm practice to processing and storage to make sure that they sell safe, clean, and fresh meat.

The Canadian Pork Standard is as good as the other pork standards in the world but it is the application and practice that matters most, he said, adding that they do not want to cheat the public that is why they make sure that they follow this standard.

The meatshop is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and will have a 10 percent discount promo starting Jan.27 to Feb. 5.

Their products include pork barbecue skewered, pork Korean, chorizo hamonado, Shanghai mix, chorizo recado, pork tocino, pork country style barbecue, barbecue pork chop, and ham and bacon cold cuts.*LTG

Swedish musician to play for environmental concert

Renowned Swedish musician and environmentalist, Anders Paulsson. will present a concert on February 3 titled “Saving our Seas,” at the University of St. La Salle, Bacolod City, a Philippine Information Agency press release said.

The concert aims to raise funds for the Danjugan Island Environmental Education Project that endeavors to educate public school teachers and students in southern Negros Occidental on how to help preserve the environment.

Anders, who volunteered in Danjugan some years back, has produced his first pop album entitled “Danjugan Sanctuary,” as a tribute to the mairne reserve off Cauayan town and managed and supported by the Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation.

Anders, a soprano saxophonist, has performed hundreds of concerts in more than 25 countries since his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 1992.

Ledesma said proceeds from the concert will help fund the DEEP project that they have been implementing for almost two decades now to inspire coastal constituents to become “stewards of their environment.”*

^^i love the way mayor bing went out his way to personally greet the visiting koreans. you can just imagine how flattering it is to be approached by the mayor of the host city himself.:okay:
To be honest galing, Bacólod's tourism program still pales in comparison to that of Silay City. Ang advantage of Bacólod is that it already has a world-reknowned festival, a good name recall and citizens that are good in promoting the city. :)

City of John Paul II

The Good Life
with Eli F.J. Tajanlangit

Many of us will not forget that day. Over a million of us had massed in Bacolod on that day, wanting to see Pope John Paul II in person, to hear him talk, to pray with him, perhaps even to touch him and be blessed by him.

On Feb 20, or 20 days from now, that day would be 31 years ago.

Bacolod which was one of the few cities outside of Metro Manila that he chose to visit now has a heavy concentration of institutions named after JP II.

The JP II National Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family for example promotes the former pope's principles on human love, an institution that will outlast all of us, a beacon of hope, indeed, that our skewered perspectives on life and love may yet be put on the right track again.

There is the JP II tower at the reclaimed area, the most immediately visible of these institutions, which is one of our newest tourism attractions, drawing pilgrims as well as the plainly curious.

Two more will be officially launched next month, the Centro Giovanni Paolo II which serves as retreat and resort facility in Punta Taytay and the Centro Giovanni Paolo II for Research in Lacson Street which.

The Sangguniang Panglunsod, taking the cue from the private sector's initiative to celebrate that rare papal visit, has declared Feb 13 to 20 Blessed John Paul II Week in Bacolod city.

Indeed, three decades and a year since he visited, Bacolod has become JP II city.*

Ara naman ang Bacolod sa lista:

Here are a few examples taken from the Arangkada score card on LGUs.

Arangkada Proposal: Programs to make LGUs (provinces and cities) more efficient and competitive in attracting investment should be continued and even intensified.

Status: There are bright spots at the LGU level – San Fernando, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Calapan — with the assistance of foreign funded programs, i.e., the Performance Governance System of ISA. Traction and critical mass still need to be attained.

Step aside Phil and James YH

UFL: Kaya escapes Navy, 2-1

That's when Kaya, mentored by locally based Spanish coach Juan Cutillas, woke up and slowly but surely clawed its way back – which started when striker Joshua Beloya, formerly of Second Division team Bacolod FC and member of the Azkals' under-23 team that saw action in last year's Indonesia Southeast Asian Games, nailed a goal eight minutes later to knot the count at one apiece.

^^amo ni ang trend subong sa mga new buildings, this building looks more of a condominium because of its modern facade and design. I think the word "condominium" is exaggeratedly used in some developments just to attract or lure in people to buy but actually its more of an apartment, dormitory or transient space. examples are horizon tower, peoples condo, prince condo, uptown. eagle crest. those that deserved to be called condominiums are hi residence, ayala ccc condos and Injap 21 although I'm not really keen of Injaps design that looks like a tenement in Manila or China, I give it credit as the tallest in WV region in a residential category once completed until Ayala ccc condos is done with theirs.

Ayala expands project

BACOLOD CITY -- Encouraged by the robust market take-up, Ayala Land, Inc. launched the third phase of a residential subdivision project within a master-planned estate in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. On the market now are 116 lots in Verdana Homes Asyana, one of the residential developments in North Point Estate, a 215-hectare integrated mixed-used project. “Ayala Land remains very optimistic about the Bacolod-Negros market. These projects are clear indicators of [our] commitment to turn this optimism into reality,” Ayala Land Premier Head Giggio Jugo said in a press briefing here Saturday. Mayi Platero, senior division manager for Ayala Land Premiere who discussed the Asyana Phase Three development, said each of the 116 lots has an average size of 250 square meters which costs from P5,680 to P6,988 per square meter. Phase One is already sold out, while only nine lots are left in Phase Two.

Bago pugs emerge overall Visayas champs
(The Philippine Star) Updated January 31, 2012 12:00 AM Comments (0)
SHARE: facebook yahoo! buzz

Seventeen-year-old James Palicte displayed the form that once made him a member of the national pool to shut down a wild local crowd cheering for Jonathan Ramirez and cap Bago City’s dominating performance at the close of the PLDT-ABAP Visayas Area Boxing Championships Sunday at the Robinson’s Mall.

The victory was Bago City’s third gold medal to go with two silvers and a bronze medal to claim the overall championship in this four-day tournament organized by the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) with PLDT as its main sponsor in cooperation with the city and provincial government.

Cebu City won two gold medals while Negros Occidental claimed the final gold courtesy of lady boxer Jossa Santiseban who ruled the Junior girls pinweight with an RSC win in the third round over Leyte’s Aira Villegas.
