Yep ongoing ang renovation but wala gid ko access sa sulod. Not much could be seen from outswide since ang likod nila ang gina renovate.....maka tika ko next time ah :banana:

Daw lapit na ma lang gale matapos ang apartment building sa may atubang sang Brick Pit. Kag sa may atubang fuel station sa may Homesite/Circumferential may ara man da two-story decent looking building nga bago. Basi may maka labay da maka picture. :)

Yup ... saw that one too and it turned to be a good looking low rise bldg.. :) galing lang gin kalbuhan nila ang kahoy in front of it ...

No matter how Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. passes the ball, that ball now is really in his court. It is he who can get things moving. He can ask President Aquino to intervene and compel COA to decide on the contract now. Failing in that, Marañon can mediate between SM and Ayala in an effort to reconcile their conflicting interests.

Marañon can still coalesce their interests. He can find an alternative site for SM by offering it more generous terms than what is provided by Ayala’s contract.

Bacolod is too wide in terms of area, and its population grows by leaps and bounds that anywhere you put up a mall will be profitable, if not today, at least in the not too distant future.

Wow, it's great to see Bacolod in line with some of the great "tech" cities and/or countries of the world (e.g. India, Silicon Valley, etc.)

I wasn't able to go to the MapMaker seminar last time. :(
Daw ka interesting gid magkadto, esp. since it's organized by Google, galing limited lang ang prog. knowledge ko to C++ and Java.
They will tech you naman the basics before climbing up the ladder sa medyo complicated. Taga-Bacolod abi ang isa sa mga hard workers in the Developer Community so na push niya guid among Bacolod schools ang tech programs hence the success now. :D

Events: Earth Day 2012 in Negros Set

The organizers of Earth Day 2012 celebration in Negros Occidental and in Bacolod City are inviting the public to participate in different events from April 17 to 22, 2012. The annual celebration started in 1970 when the United Nations (UN) declared April 22 of each year as Earth Day to give honor and to remind all living beings of the wonders of mother earth. As signatory to the UN charter, the Philippines celebrates Earth Day every year. Earth Day celebration in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City had, for the most part, been initiated by the private sector with the active participation of some national and local governments.

A three- and five-kilometer run, entitled 3K, is scheduled at 5:00 a.m. April 21 at SM City Bacolod. The event is organized by Greek Kalinga (Erma Teodocio) together with the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, West Negros University and Carlos Hilado Memorial State College. Registration to the fun ride, "Ride for the Climate" spearheaded by Solargen (Andrea) and Federation of Bacolod Trisikad Operators and Drivers Associations (Helen Castro) begins at 4:00 p.m. of April 21 at SM City.

A province-wide (all barangays) simultaneous community clean-up is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 a.m. of Sunday, April 22. Councilors El Cid Familiaran and Mona Dia Jardin are coordinating this activity in Bacolod City while SK Provincial Federation Chairperson Thea Marie Dino and Provincial ABC Chair George Gitano are coordinating the activity for the municipalities and component cities of Negros Occidental. The primary objectives of of this event is to gather the scattered plastic bags that clog the waterways and pollute the coastal areas.

The Green Alert Network (Junjun Mojica) is undertaking tree growing activities in the Municipalities of E.B. Magalona, San Enrique and Don Salvador Benedicto on April 22. In the afternoon of April 22, Singles for Christ together with the Girl Scout of the Philippines and the 303rd Infantry Brigade are leading the "One Earth: A Walk for the Environment." Registration for this event begins at 4:00 p.m. at the SM Activity Center. The organizers request donations from participants in the form of old books and school uniforms which will be distributed to deserving but poor school children.

The celebration will culminate with a closing program at SM Activity Center starting 6:00 p.m. featuring local artists and talents. GMA Channel 13 is coordinating the closing program.

This year’s celebration is headed by Fr. Ernie Lareda, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Fatima and Environment Coordinator of the Social Action Center of the Diocese of Bacolod as Chairperson and Councilor El Cid Familiaran as Co-Chairperson.*

I have heard of using helium-3 for nuclear fusion reactors before, but I am not sure if this technology has been perfected or is stable enough for commercial use. Sa diin ni nga Highway? From Bacolod to North o to South? Nice highway, Wla pa ko nakita amo ni kalapad sa Panay. Saludo gid ko sa Negros when it comes to planning and implementation. One of the few and best in the country. hehe (for me, Tagum City made it to the top)

The extent of the farthest pyroclastic material is 15 kms from the crater mostly on the uninhabited hills of Murcia and the plains of Bago, La Carlota, La Castellana and Magallon. The collapse of the cone of the volcano created those small hills around Sag-ang and Yubo then spread wide over La Castellana and Magallon. Although no oral or written accounts of lahars, it was presumed that these mudflows were channeled by Binalbagan and Bago Rivers. If dwellings were covered in ash and other tephra from Kanlaon, they might have rotten away since most of them were made of wood and similar light material. permanent structures were mostly built at river mouths and coastlines.^^

Kanlaon is an active volcano (26 recorded eruptions) is aged thru its eruptive history as to the pattern of deposits around it plus oral and written folkloric history

but radio-carbon dating is the mainstay of determining the age of a volcano especially the dormant and extinct ones.

i haven't seen the prehistoric eruption dating of Kanlaon but mostly it is in the records of the Smithsonian Institute's Global Volcanism Program, the Catalog of Active Volcanoes in the World (CAVW)

Sa diin ni nga Highway? From Bacolod to North o to South? Nice highway, Wla pa ko nakita amo ni kalapad sa Panay. Saludo gid ko sa Negros when it comes to planning and implementation. One of the few and best in the country. hehe (for me, Tagum City made it to the top)

maybe ancient tools used of the pre-Spanish era like stone grinders, wooden mortars and pestles, ovens and pots used in making sugarcane syrup (as described by the French and Spanish who saw early Negrenses processing wild sugarcane to syrup then cooking them into cakes and blocks of the sweet resulting material).

Geologically speaking abi, Negros is created mostly by volcanism by the Negros Volcanic Arc and extensive faulting in between. So when ancient animals and people roamed thru land bridges, Negros wasn't part of it yet kay medyo bag-o pa ta nga land mass forming after the last Ice Age. Thus fossils of prehistoric animals and or people are most unlikely in Negros.

there were bones of ancient pygmy rhino found here, so are elephants, i read that way back in my highschool, it is a published research media.

I will look for it if i have time. lol

Piyak kag piyak ang patinduganay hotels sa Bacolod. That's because these investments are supported by actual figures. The most number of domestic tourists come to Negros, hence the need for all these buildings. Way to go, undisputed convention city of the region!!!

Bacolod City was the venue of the Third CLSP National Annual Convention. It was held at the L’Fisher’s Hotel April 25-27, 1995. This convention had the biggest attendance till then: 59 participants, with 23 new enrolees.

SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department invites shrimp farmers to take part on the 8th Philippine shrimp congress scheduled 9-11 May 2012 at the La Planta Hotel, Bacolod City. The congress is organized by Negros Prawn Producers Marketing Cooperative Inc in cooperation with Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of Science and Technology, SEAFDEC/AQD, and University of the Philippines Visayas.

The main focus of this biannual event is the successful technology and new development on Penaeus monodon and P. vannamei cultures from around the region. The congress will also highlight marketing, value adding opportunities, crop insurance and financing with invited foreign resource speakers. This 3-day congress will be attended by local and foreign experts in grow-out farming, hatchery operations, feed milling, processing/exporting, and input supplies.
