La Castellana and Dumaguete!

Good guid ni sa turismo ang pagpasundayag sang Masskara kag La Castellana. Free exposure, minus gasto sa advertisement. Kay nagdaog ang masskara kag nakahambal si Mayor na ibutang niya sa turismo ang kwarta Hope maka come up kita nga Bacolodnon sg tourist friendly information centre. Damgo kag dumot ko guid ni ang tourist friendly information centre. Cos i really got bad experience with our information centre kag ang mga french tourist na kadungan ko. Dapat pagkaguwa sa info centre makahatag smile, indi disappointment kag kainit sang ulo. Wish ko ni hehe

Always may bag o sa Bacolod, Happy naman ni relatives ko na magbakasyon dira :) Go go Ayala and Sm! Change the shopping experience of Negros Occ!

One positive side of being assigned(no choice) to other areas such as "tabuk" for work is that when you come home every weekend or every vacation to Bacolod -- you can definitely feel the difference of Comfort, Serenity, Happiness and Prestige between Cities. :) Though they also have a good unique stuff -- but nothing beats the sweetness of Home.

^^nice set of pics..indi ko na pgquote kay kalawig...anyway, booming na gd ang east area subong...nami gd tne kung may club dira naun kay man nami gd ang nightlife dira...kulang na lng club...:):cheers: last time me and my friends went there, ng.order lng kme beer sa somewhat row of "mini-bars" sa tabuk NGC and then stayed at NGC (park) overnyt (we went there at around 12mnfrom another party) kag there are also other group of people staying there, some biking, skating etc...that was my first nightlife experience that is outside the club/bar/resto (aside from street parties during masskara and bacolaodiat)...enjoy gd...a different taste of nightlife...indeed, diverse gd yah ang nightlife diri sa Bacolod...indi lng limited sa bars, clubs, restos, casinos etc...Even if the NGC park wasn't built as a place for partying, the awesome people of bacolod recreates the area to make it an enjoyable place to stay during the night...:banana: just bring some car w/ some really cool party music and then..voila!!

CONTRACT SIGNED: Marañon says Capitol-ALI deal is a go

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday said the lease and sale contract between the provincial government and the Ayala Land, Inc is a signed deal.

Marañon confirmed to reporters here that he and top officials of ALI signed the contract in Manila Thursday.

“It’s a go,” Marañon, who weeks ago said he was de-prioritizing the project, declared.

Signing in behalf f ALI were Antonio Aquino, ALI president, and Jose Emmanuel Jalandoni, ALI vice president.

Marañon accompanied by Atty. Mary Ann Lamis, assistant provincial legal officer, signed in behalf of the provincial government.

He explained that one of the requirements stated by the Commission on Audit in a letter sent after the COA appraisal team went here was for the contract to be signed. For Marañon, this is a technical requirement prior to the approval.

Another point made by COA was the claim made by the Villadelgado family on a portion of the 7.7-hectare property which is the subject of the lease and purchase agreement. Marañon said the provincial government has already sent to COA the copy of the court decision on the case.

With these requirements met, Maranon believes COA will render its approval of the contract.

“It’s a done deal,” Marañon stressed.

He said ALI will start their payments as soon as they receive a copy of the COA approval as stipulated in the contract.

“We are relieved and this is good for the people of Negros and Bacolod,” he stressed.

He added that everything will go as scheduled and as planned although a little bit late.

With this development, Marañon said he sees the transformation of the economic landscape of the province of Negros Occidental and the city of Bacolod.

The area for sale is 36,587 square meters amounting to P750,033,500 while the leased area is 40,481 square meters for P2,955,113 per month with 10 percent escalation every five years.

ALI is expected to pour in a total of P6 billion in investments in the disputed prime property.

Thanks! What you saw on showtime was just a fraction of the real masskara merry making and street dance. Imagine 15-20 groups competing for the masskara streetdancing composed of almost a 100 dancers each group with colorful costumes and heavy masks dancing gracefully with the live drum beats! :)

yo'ull see more dancers in their masskara representing their respective barabgays at the Bacolod public plaza during the highlights. Lacson street is closed for street party with drum beaters and electric masskara(a parade of masks and dancers with lights). its a three- week to a month long celebration.please come and visit our city this October and experience the Masskara fever :)

What you can do is have whole map of Negros Is. and have a comprehensive list of restaurants, hotels and resorts, and that the users can add to the list with descriptions, tag themselves there through FB or Twitter and give one to five star ratings. Don't forget to make it available in Android as well since I can promote this to the Google Users Group in Bacolod. :cheers:

An alumnus of the University placed in the March 2011 Licensure Examination for Teachers –Secondary Level, record released by the Professional Regulation Commission showed.

Barry John Ortonio Belen garnered 86.60 percent and placed third overall.

He graduated AB Philosophy in the year 2000 and is currently a faculty of the Religious Studies Department.

“I just expected to pass the exam. Placing in the said examination I guess is a big bonus,” Belen said.

In the examination for the Elementary teachers, USLS scored higher than the national passing rate by garnering 83.33 percent. The national rate is 42.46 percent.

Futhermore, USLS also scored higher than the 24.85 national rate in the exam for Secondary level teachers by getting 75 percent.

USLS gets 18 new elementary teachers and 20 secondary educators.

Ang pearl amo na sa ang bus sang 1970's nga may ara byahe silay-bacolod? Daw Ceres Bus museum na sa migs? Okay mana migs ang suggestion mo kay para looking back into the good times of the past. :) May plano mana da kuno nga daw mall kag hotel sa temporary site ka north terminal according da sa mga HH ka people nga employed sa Ceres.

I happen to work with an urban planner who was commissioned by the Yanson group and this property will be mae into a multi-use development zone with a BPO, Hotel, Casino, Commercial as well as Residential/Condo units and plans are being drawn as of this moment. I already provided the Planner with the data required so this project will start anytime this year.

Thanx for allowing me to join this forum. I am referring to the Yanson property located beside Robinson's Place behind Convergy's. The project is called Proxima Centauri Urban Development Project and I have the Preliminary Plan with me. Unfortunately it got wet when i was taking photos of the property so i may not show it because of the blotches but to give you the idea how extensive this project is as shown in the Preliminary plan, the Main Commercial Complex will be 26,225 sq.m., Mixed Use Complex 14,890 sq.m., Residential Complex 10,380 sq.m., Business Center 10,550 sq.m., Tourism Center 7,810 sq.m., and Utility 7,223 sq.m. If you may insist, i will take photo of the plan and have it posted here.

The Yanson group is still negotiating for the purchase of adjacent lots (like the old First Farmers building and another along Sta. Clara road) for future expansion of their project. The BPO and Convention Centers will be 4 storeys high and an ample open space will be available for a more fresh ambiance.

I will try to keep posted as to the development of the site in the next couple of weeks. This will be a mini Makati here in Negros i guess for this sprawling 19 hectare complex will entail investment of a couple of hundreds of millions plus the thousands of jobs it will generate.

yes migs. but im keeping my eyes anay sa sini nga mga lugar kay bac mabuluang na ko kung dal.on cla sa list. :nuts: isa pa, these areas already have a concrete plan for them...:) Those areasyou have mentioned are just there, waiting for the right time to strike...muahahaha...:lol: They will come, like a thief in the night..:) And when I say "thief" in the night, i mean, they will steal something from someone. :lol::naughty:;)

It's quite engaging pero still quite far from the quality of Malaysia Truly Asia and Amazing Thailand ads. Mga ads bala nga daw maganyat ka gid kadto. Try to search bala for samples. Pero it's a nice effort ah, more aggressive pa tani ang ila pag-market sa PH. :cheers:

Gani man. Now, only time will tell if the new slogan will translate to higher tourist arrivals. Medyo taktak na ta compared to our ASEAN neighbors. Tani, wala labot sa ads, i-improve pa gid ang tourism infra. More power to DOT!
