ive heard the goverment plans to contruct a coastal hig way to connect Bantayan park in Bago City to BREDCO.could this be start to physically connect Bago City sa Metro Bacolod?

im not an expert on this but yeah, i think mas useful ang helicopter kung rescue ang paga istoryahan.ang question, could a helicopter be as efficient s cessna when used sa cloud seeding?

whichever ang mas useful para sa province ti amo na e :)

Pwede guro I customize or modified.Another use of helicopter is pwede man sya official visit sa neighboring island example na da kon mapa Iro ang Si Gov or makadto sya sa oriental.

Each Have their pro's and con's. Why decide for the two when you can have both?

The province just thought what is needed most. Not all the time we need to use a helicopter for rescue. Our province Disaster response is more than enough to meet the demand. A Helicopter is a plus.

Council approves P50M for various projects

Thursday, June 7, 2012

THE Bacolod City Council has passed the appropriation ordinance allocating P50 million for the city’s various essential needs, as requested by Acting Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson through Acting Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer Councilor El Cid Familiaran.

The said fund will be sourced from the Cumulative Operating Surplus under the general fund as certified by the city accountant Eduardo H. Ravena.

The projects to be funded from the P50-million allocation include concreting of roads in various barangays (P30 million), construction of footwalk in various villages (P3 million), construction of covered court (P3 million), and lot acquisition for the public plaza of Barangay Bata (P1.5 million).

Other projects included in the budget are financial aids to Barangay Granada for the construction of the village hall (P1 million), Bacolod City College projects (P1 million), Federation of Homeowners Associations Inc. for the water connection to Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Tangub and to Barangay Sum-ag at Purok Mahigugmaon (P500,000), Liga ng mga Barangay (P500,000), Youth Council (P500,000), and Philippine Councilors League (P800,000,00).

I think PTV is now NBN (National Broadcasting Network)...i don't know kun diin ila repeater station diri sa Bacolod. the old PTV 2 studio in Bacolod is shared with the old ABS-CBN Building at the 25th - Lacson St.

Azkals battle Guam in Panaad on June 12

TO CAP its three-nation friendly games, the Philippine national football team Azkals will battle Guam's national team at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Mansilingan, Bacolod City, 7 p.m. of June 12.

This Independence Day football extravaganza is brought to football-crazy Negrense fans by the Visayas Football League headed by Junie Lizares, disclosed event organizer Pinky Abaño of Pink Idea Production.

Among other sponsors are ABS-CBN, Smart Communications, Pepsi Cola, Gatorade, Nature's Spring, Kia, SVG Fertiplus, Havainnas and Libresse.

Abano said the Azkals are expected to arrive on June 9, while the Guam shinbusters will plane in on the following day.

Tickets for the game start at P200, P400, P600 and P1,000. Fans who opt for the P1,000 and P600 tickets are guaranteed with reserved seats at the grandstand where they can have an unimpeded view of the Azkals vs Guam tussle.

Tickets are available at Luxur Place, Mushu, Robinsons Place, Sky Cable, Seeds Outlets, Scrubbles at 888 China Town Square, Shakey's Lacson, Café Bobs, ABS CBN and the Provincial Tourism Office.

On June 12, tickets will also be available for sale at Panaad starting 9 a.m.

In an earlier separate interview, Philippine Olympic Committee chairman Monico Puentevella opined that Negrense football fans will surely get a treat of the Azkals' scoring prowess, considering that Guam is not a very highly regarded team.

As of FIFA's June 2012 ranking, Guam's men's football team is listed at 194. The Azkals is at 149.

Training center built in Bacolod City

BACOLOD CITY -- Using allotted cash bonuses a number of sugar workers had forfeited, the Department of Labor and Employment has established a P10-million training center for sugar workers and their beneficiaries in Negros Occidental.

"I want to see transformation in the lives of the sugar workers after they have finished the various course offerings provided by the center," Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said in her speech during the inauguration of the Sugar Workers Development Center here last week.

The center was financed under the Social Amelioration Program which is funded by the P10 lien collected per picul (equivalent to 63.25 kilograms) of sugar produced. Eighty percent of the lien is distributed as cash bonus to workers, based on the number of days they worked in a farm or mill.

Labor regional director Ponciano Ligutom said cash bonuses in Western Visayas will total about P104 million this year, or about P207 per worker. -- NLG

Raw sugar production approaches target for crop year

THE COUNTRY’s raw sugar production has nearly hit the targeted output for the current crop year with still three months to go, data from the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) showed.

As of May 27, the Philippines’ raw sugar output totaled about 2.211 million metric tons (MT), or 98.62% of the crop year’s targeted production of 2.242 million MT.

Hahaha!Medyo malayo ang padulungan ta sini.Medyo mahal ang maintenance sini.Cessna na Lang ah para diri na Lang imaintain sa Pinas.Amo na ang first nga I consider nila ang maintenance facility kon diin may available especially ang aircraft parts kon available bala sa Pinas or may supplier diri nga available man.Thats just a suggestion.

I think, among the South East Asian nations, only Singapore has these chinook Helicopters. Kag daw ang cost sang isa ka unit, it's like the year's budget of the AFP. So mahal ang cost and maintenance. :) pero good gid kon may helicopter service ang aton probinsya for disaster and rescue preparedness. Pwede pa mahulam sa piyak if the need arises. Basta sa pa-gasulinahan Lang nila. :D

Correct Mig. Generally, mabuot ang mga taga-piyak nga kilala ko. May mga bad apples nga dyutay lang guid na ya biskan sa diin nga lugar. Amo lang na galing, may mga thread sa SSC nga daw gin tumpukan guid sang mga bad apples. Still, we should not generalize lest we become one of them.

I always have the perception that Lacson Street is our version of Tomas Morato while La Salle Ave and North Drive as our Maginhawa Street. Actually, there are just so many food stops in the city that you would have a problem with choosing. :nuts:

Negros has always been known for classic and exquisite cuisine. That is due to the fact that the Negrense hacienderos have been the most traveled people and eat a lot. From their trips in Europe, they bring back new cooking styles and fuse it with local cuisines hence that. Ask every TOP chef in Manila and it would be almost IMPOSSIBLE to find one who has never been to Bacolod. They said daw that you're not a top of the line chef until you've been to Bacolod. dapat lang because in that area between the Govt Center and Pan Asiatic is a creek that was used before as an irrigation system,so basi kun ma develop inang lugar da and mas higher na ang surface run-off towards the creek, basi pila ka adlaw ma baha naman na dira since the Circumferential Road is elevated and sloped back to the area of the Govt Center.

yeah, kita ko na Doc ang small creek na da gli...they better double time kay gasugod na daan ang tig-ululan...I also hope that they would do something about the area near Robinson's Place kay gataas man da ang tubig kung tudo ulan :(

Na notice nyo nga ang brownish floodwaters would always come from Carvic kag dira ga dulhog derecho sa tubang First Farmers or gatabok pakadto sa Sunnyville kag Robinsons area.

Thats why aton gid gina sulit sulit diri nga ginahambal nga those who would like to develop structures there along Lacson Street from Lopues Mandalagan to Capitolville, they should anticipate flooding and difficult drainage. :ohno:

Negros to generate P3B in sin taxes

BACOLOD City – The province of Negros Occidental stands to generate about P3 billion in revenues if the measure to increase taxes on cigarettes and liquors finally becomes a law.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said he is hoping that the Senate will approve a counterpart measure after the House of Representatives approved on third and final reading Wednesday night the bill.

The bill is seen to contribute P33 billion to national government revenues.

Marañon said he is for the increasing of taxes on cigarettes and liquors not only to generate taxes but to discourage people from buying these vices.

Marañon said that more and more teenagers start smoking at a young age.

He pointed out that the Philippines is one of the countries with lowest tax on cigarettes and liquor.

This Tuesday, the Pinoy football scene shifts to what might be considered the birthplace of Azkals mania: Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City. The national team will take on Guam in the last of June's friendlies.

Panaad stadium is holy ground for Pinoy football. Some of the fans even refer to it as "The Kennel."

I remember seeing Panaad for the first time. It looks homely from the outside, because back then the grandstand was unpainted and industrial gray. But once you step inside, it's quite beautiful. There's one covered grandstand then a ring of small bleachers surrounding the field and track. Behind those bleachers are stands of eucalyptus trees (at least that's what I am told they are.) When night falls the trees are lit up and it looks lovely. Panaad is a unique venue in world football.

Then I distinctly remember something amazing happen. A buzz enveloped the stadium. All of a sudden, the crowd started to cheer a little harder. Fans started to spontaneously stand up and make themselves heard. This is what a home crowd is supposed to do. Give the home squad a lift when it needs it most.

The Commission on Audit was expected to come out with its decision on the sale and lease of the 7.7-hectare prime property of the Negros Occidental provincial government in Bacolod City to AyalaLand Inc. Thursday, but as of yesterday Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said he had not yet heard from the COA.

Meanwhile, AyalaLand is already making its plans and engineering studies for the 7.7-hectare property, the governor said.

A DONE DEAL

As we have said here months ago Panaad Stadium WILL BE expanded and renovated as it is in the pipeline of projects of the PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT. So initiative ni ya sang province together with negotiations from MVP and Smart Communications. Basta it will just come on its time, since now kadamu sang ongoing projects sang province so some projects of the province are still on hold. some of the ongoing projects are:

Western Visayas Blood Center
Negros First Cyber Center and renovation of Paglaum Sports Complex
NOHS MAPE Building
Mambukal Resort additional dipping pools and cottages (wala pa da ang expansion and renovation)

Apparently, Miss World granted a separate franchise for Miss World Philippines organizers. Maybe they are tired of the controversies surrounding Bb. Pilipinas from time to time. Anyway, I'd rather see Daphne represent Bacolod than Lara for obvious reasons. :lol::nuts:
