Somewhere in this video, one can take a glimpse what seemed to be a new USLS (Montelibano Campus) Masterplan. :) Just pause the video somewhere in 2:00 and 2:02.
WEfr569PYYI

The campus redevelopment will include:
The transfer of USLS-IS, that means, most of the structures there will be removed, excluding the HS building (3-storeys).
The removal (or of some parts) of the USLS main artery (that long hallway starting from gate 2 to MM hall)
New and improved road system and landscaping inside the campus
New buildings (not less than 5-stories)
Edit:
The Covered Court and Tennis Court were replaced by buildings. I believe these two will be transferred into a different location.

^^I hope this gets materialized. The masterplan is overall, excellent.
To those who are familiar w/ the USLS Campus, you can check it out and see for yourself.

some parts of bacolod have high elevation so when it's low pressure, limited ang gagwa na water, like in our place here in the eastern part which we have to use water pumps...it's the same thing when there's water nga but not potable coz you might risk of having diarrhea due to the quality of water...:sly:

di pwede matawag nga "waterless" ang Bacolod since our water source is within our city limits mismo. BACIWA's major source of water is in the springs of Bocal-Bocal and Buro-Buro in Alangilan. So matawag mo gid aton water as "spring water". We aren't using our rivers yet for water supply.

Kita mo, during the drought of 1982-1983 and 1998-1999 indi gaano ka affected ang Bacolod City even though nag nubo man gid ang mga water pressure sa iban nga areas.

NONHS Inventor is 2nd Placer in National Invention Tilt
Submitted by webmaster on Mon, 07/23/2012 - 07:58 Local News Victorias City

A fresh graduate of the Negros Occidental National Science High School in Victorias City won second place in the National Invention Contest and Exhibits held recently at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

http://www.ndb-online.com/sites/default/files/node_images/nohs.jpg
The invention: Manually Operated Extruder Machine

Young inventor Ydsan Franz Dongon got the number two spot with his Manually Operated Extruder Machine: A prototype in Making Leaf Briquettes.

Dongon represented Western Visayas in the national tilt after topping the regional contest early this year.

Other than landing second in the Sibol Award for Creative Research - High School category, Dongon also received a special award from the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. as a second placer.

Sponsored by the Department of Sconce and Technology, the contest highlighted the celebration of the 2012 National Science and Technology Week.*

True. If 12k people were BPO-employed last year here in the city, would it be safe to say it would be about 15k by the end of this year, seeing the trend here? If that's the case, that would be about TRIPLE the size of one BPO destination that's also in the region.

15k people earning decent money is really really good for the local economy.:cheers::cheers:

di pwede matawag nga "waterless" ang Bacolod since our water source is within our city limits mismo.

Tumbocon noted that investments of over P7 billion are expected to be poured into North Point by the Company and its commercial partners. "North Point is where we will focus our efforts and resources over the next few years," he said.

Gov. Marañon, for his part, thanked Ayala Land for its confidence in Negros and for the investments the Company is pouring into the province. "We are grateful to Ayala Land for believing in Negros and contributing greatly to a progressive economy and business environment for the Negrenses," said Maranon.

"This kind of [investment] is unheard of here and it will surely change the landscape of the province into one of a progressive and dynamic destination in this part of the Philippines," the Governor also said. "This will make our economy jump!"

Projects ‘unfairly distributed’ in Western Visayas

Marañon and Alvarez raised the matter during the Regional Development Council 6 Advisory Committee Meeting at the Andaya Hall of the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Marañon cited the 2013 budget for state colleges and universities, where out of the P2.7 billion budget for Western Visayas, Negros Occidental will be getting only ten percent or P283 million.

Among the priority projects in the province approved Tuesday by the RDC for this year are the Bago-Mambucal road with a budget of P534 million; Ilog-Hilabangan River Basin Flood Control amounting to P2.7 billion under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH); concreting of Candoni-Sipalay Road with a budget of P696.4 million and the Bacolod- North Road construction that will serve as a major route for several local government units (LGUs) within the three congressional districts worth P2.3 billion.

Lawmaker proposes P2.2B for road networks

The proposed projects include road constructions in Gawahon, Victorias City, with a proposed budget of P813 million; Campuestohan Road worth P700 million and the Silay-Lantawan Road amounting to P700 million.

Benitez said the projects will start on January 2013 and are expected to be finished before the 2016 elections.

He said the road networks are vital for the realization of his plans to boost tourism in the mountains, citing Gawahon in Victorias City, Campustohan in Talisay City and Mambukal in Murcia as very viable areas.

Benitez, who mulls delivering his own State of the District Address, also revealed that the ongoing construction of the airport access road from the Bacolod Silay Airport is set to be completed on April 2013. The actual budget for the project is about P400 million.

MassKara highlights art tourism
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Tajanlangit said they also plan to have an art map for Bacolod where tourists and art collectors can visit the studios or galleries of all the artists during the MassKara Festival.

Tajanlangit also said they will hold an art walk or art map so that when the tourists come, they will know where to go. Of course, the MassKara Festival is already showcasing local artistry in costume, music and dance, he added.

"We have been complaining that projects are not equally divided among the provinces. Negros Occidental should get at least 42-percent share of the projects that pass through the regional offices because, in terms of population, area and even income, we consist of 42 percent in the whole region," Marañon said.

I wonder kun ano ang breakdown for the other provinces.

MassKara highlights art tourism

Tajanlangit said this year’s logo is a statement of Bacolod’s vibrant, dynamic and thriving art scene – a fact that we should deploy in our tourism campaign as much as we highlight our food, places, and culture.

It captures the tourism attractions of Bacolod City where life is good, where art, which is the highest expression of man, is an everyday reality, he added.

The bottle is from France while the cork is from Portugal. The surrealistic Filipino label was designed by a London- and New York-based design firm and incorporates Filipino symbols such as the tuko, the tarsier, and the words Mt. Kanlaon.

It is not only the magnificent bottle with an eye-catching design and a real cork stopper that Don Papa puts other rums to shame but it is the rum itself that sets a new standard in Philippine luxury. Distillation is done on the island and aging in American oak barrels happens at the foot of Mount Kanlaon. The rum is then charcoal filtered to remove any tannins and impurities before being blended to perfection.

^^ Ay tuod ka doc? I hope the city will give more attention to this street since this has the potential of becoming another tourist attraction. Maybe add more lighting, allow foot traffic only, and have local artists install their art on the sidewalk. We can also foster a culture of performances like plays, mimes, live acoustic music, etc. every evening on this street. This is basically to allow performers to hone their craft and of course, open to the public.

But I think, the AAB has stopped the activity already, maybe since some establishments around it have changed na, and those cafe's, bars, restos that are devoted to art have already relocated to Art District in Mandalagan

di pwede matawag nga "waterless" ang Bacolod since our water source is within our city limits mismo.

Caritas Bldg na migs.

spring water pa man gamit ta ah indi tubig baha.

Viva wouldnt put up sa Bago kung nakulang kita sa tubig.kag ang Bago proper is approxiamtely 21km away from Bacolod lg :)

but yes we need to conserve water and preserve our forests coz if not in 5-10 yrs basi mamroblema kita sa tubig.d anay paghulaton ang delunyo kag amo pag hulag.amo na ya ang Negros :banana::banana:

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Football Federation is eyeing a late September schedule for the four-nation meet it is organizing in Bacolod City as part of the Azkals’ preparations for the AFF Suzuki Cup.

PFF president Nonong Araneta said from the original slate of Oct. 12-16, the PFF is looking at new match dates of Sept. 25, 27, and 29 for the competitions that will feature Phl, Chinese Taipei and Macau and a fourth nation, possibly recent visitor Guam.

Back-to-Back Regional Evaluation for La Carlota City

The city was short-listed together with San Carlos and Roxas City in Capiz as one of the top three cities in Region VI having implemented programs for the welfare and protection of children.

The Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Award evaluation is based on the local government performance and management system with emphasis on the local government’s implementation of RA 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act.

Last year, La Carlota City received a number of remarkable awards like the Department of Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Seal of Good Housekeeping - good planning, sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability and valuing of performance monitoring.

It was also cited by DILG as one of the top performing cities in the country, regional finalist in the EXCELL (Excellence in governance) Award for local government performance and management system and ranked number 3 in the provincial search for the most child-friendly city.
