^^I know miga @sugar it was sta fe resort and maybe palmas ang nag una sang concepto but i think goldenfield's carribbean was the first to established the trend of building a hotel with themed swimming pools ang sta fe and palmas ya swimming pool lang gid ya but now we could see an improvement of that generation, I suppose forest park is considered to be the ultimate city themed swimming pool resort thus far and I'm still looking forward to see more of these resort...tani ang daw splash island kay nami tani may ara pa gid multiple tube slides, wave pools, surfing pools, beach pools etc...laguna, cebu, manila may ara na sila ni ya nami sini in a few years may ara man ta.

^^carribean should upgrade there resort as forest park is within the proximity of the area...basi ma pirdi bala sila sang competition...anyway I guess its not only the war of the hi-rise nor malls but I hope it will signal the trend of city resorts.

^^I think so migo basi parking area lang bala pero di lang mag assume basi pa lang may plano sila for expansion.

^^its good if sm savemore has plans to take over the place were grace pharmacy is currently leasing.

Bay-i lang kay may makakwa gid na di picture. Hi Residence bala ang ngalan sg project. Medyo dulum na kaina pagkita ko liwat sg banner daw indi man gid sya hi rise asta 21-storey but daw pila ka bilog nga condominium buildings. Hello guys...

went to the Hi-Residences site a while ago and I was sooo amazed with the Development!

Will post pictures later on... but before that, a little trivia about the HI RESIDENCES LUXURY LIVING...

1. The whole development will be a complex of 9 buildings ranging from 7 Levels to 12 Levels...

2. This is a Development Project by none other than Vladimir Gonzales...

3. They are now paving the roads for the development...

4. Currently, they are constructing a Billboard for the whole project...

5. According to the Project Engineer I have talked earlier, DEVELOPMENT IS IN FULL SWING and this is NOT THE ONLY DEVELOPMENT FROM VLADI... Soon to come is a Lifestyle Center located just across the said development AND in the Lot Adjacent to Trinity Christian School!!!

SENATOR Manny Villar is pushing for the conversion of the Negros State College of Agriculture (NSCA) in Kabankalan City, including its extension campuses in the four cities and six towns in the province, into a state university.

In Senate Bill (SB) 2698, now pending before the committee on rules, Villar said “the conversion of NSCA into a university, to be known as the Central Philippine State University (CPSU), will bring the government closer to the poor but deserving students who cannot afford private higher education.”

“As a State University in Central Philippines in general and Western Visayas in particular, its offering of the relevant courses will help revolutionize the mono-cropping sugar industry into a diversified industry by producing quality graduates who will man the various industries, and at the same time reach out to the sons and daughters of the marginalized farmers, fisherfolks, ‘sacadas’ and other hacienda workers with the most affordable tertiary education in agriculture and other professional courses which answers to the needs of industries in the locality,” he added.

Section 1 of the bill states that NSCA’s extension campuses in the cities of San Carlos, Sipalay, Himamaylan and Victorias as well as in the municipalities of Hinoba-an, Cauayan, Ilog, Candoni, Moises Padilla and Hinigaran shall likewise be referred to as University campuses with main campus in Kabankalan.

“The University shall primarily provide advanced education, higher technological, professional instruction and training in agriculture/fisheries, animal science, forestry, education, computer studies, engineering, arts and sciences and other relevant fields of study. It shall also promote and undertake research, extension services and provide progressive leadership in its areas of specialization,” as per Section 2 of the proposal filed last February 14, 2011.

Section 16 of SB 2698 also states that the University shall provide a scholarship program and other affirmative action programs to assist poor but deserving students who qualify for admission to the University (and that) no student shall be denied admission by reason of gender, religion, cultural or community affiliation or ethnic origin.

“The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be charged against the current year’s appropriations of NSCA, except the sums needed to continue the operations of the existing high school. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the continued operation and maintenance of the CPSU shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act,” Villar stressed.

The senator revealed that since its establishment in 1946, the NSCA demonstrated relevance and quality in its education programs not only in the entire Negros and Panay Islands but also in neighboring provinces of the region. “The College has been engaged in education and training of skilled farmers, entrepreneurs, technicians, teachers, social workers and other professionals that now help turn the wheel of the highly agricultural economy in the Negros Island and Western Visayas.”

NSCA, the "agro eco tourism" state college in Central Philippines, is the largest state college in the Visayas in terms of land area at 4,653.7 hectares. On October 2, 1946, Republic Act (RA) 43 created the Negros Occidental National Agricultural School (NONAS). It became a College in 1977 offering both degree and non-degree courses and then was converted into NSCA on July 03, 2001 by virtue of RA 9141.

“Being a university, it can offer courses relevant to the needs of the industry which at present are offered by private educational institution that charges very high fees,” Villar said, noting that the bill was already approved by the House of Representatives and transmitted to the Senate.

House Bill 1814 was filed by Negros Occidental sixth district Representative Mercedes Alvarez with third district Representative Alfredo Benitez, fifth district Representative Ignacio Arroyo Jr., Bayan Muna Party-list Representative Neri Colmenarez and Congressman Juan Edgardo Angara as co-authors.

The House committee on higher and technical education recommended the bill’s approval in a committee report submitted last February 3, 2011. (GCG)

Hello everyone again!

Thanks so much once again to those who helped me decide which place to set for a friend's birthday party. :) (I'm not from Bacolod, but our friend is, and we're coming over for a surprise birthday party) :)

We've considered so many restaurants/venues and thankfully, after all your suggestions from Thread 95, we were able to decide to have it at 21 Restaurant. :)

Our next problem is where to order the cake. :) hehe I am well aware that Calea is very famous in Bacolod, however, I'm not sure if they make those customized/personalized cakes. Like those with shapes of a laptop/back/shoes/layered cakes. Kindly suggest a Cake Shop that sells those kinds of cakes please? :) Or does Calea accept customized cakes? :)

Baw very busy gid bi migs sa work .. by the way regarding Ayala Techno-hub, fast track gid ang ubrahanay and notice ko it seems that ang facade ara sa pihak na side facing Trafalgar and not facing the highway... im not sure though. Ang area naman fronting the highway are filled up with soil na gid... try to take updates soon ..:)

Ang area naman at the back of the North bar gin convert nila into a Football Field... private gid ni sa guro and damo pirme ga park na mga cars ..:)

azotea did not push through with their project. indi mayo ang marketing nila. a friend of mine who works there even resigned.

I guess its the location that makes Azotea not that attractive to buyers... daw ka layo gid gawa sang lugar ... but at least there is a plan and once the southern part of Bacolod gets busier/livier., they can just revived and build the project ... :D wishing lang ..:D

BACOLOD City Representative Anthony Golez met Friday with Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary Manuel Geroche and officials of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Negros Navigation (NN) to thresh out plans for the construction of a modern public port in Banago by 2013.

NN used to hold the rights over the entire coastal area of the Banago port by virtue of a foreshore lease agreement (FLA) but the FLA over half of the area expired last year.

The rights over the portion covered by the expired FLA reverted to the government.

This prompted Golez to pursue his plans for the mega project with enthusiasm, stating that a public port will help fast track the progress of Bacolod City.

While the government now has the rights over half the coastal area of the Banago Port, there appeared the problem of which government agency has jurisdiction over it.

DENR claimed they have jurisdiction over it under Commonwealth Act 141 while PPA also claimed jurisdiction citing the provisions of Presidential Decree 857.

When Golez asked them during the discussion yesterday which law should prevail, the officials of the concerned government agencies deferred immediate answer to the question and instead indicated their willingness to further discuss the issue.

Geroche said they will discuss the conditions under PD 857 and they asked for two months to harmonize things.

However, the PPA can proceed with the construction of the port terminal and berthing facilities, as DENR does not want to delay the development project of the PPA and Golez, Geroche added.

The PPA earlier informed Golez that the agency had allocated between P700 million to P1 billion for the development of a public port in Banago.

The lawmaker was grateful for the allocation, considering that such a huge infusion of funds for the project will boost the city’s economy by increasing the circulation of money and the generation of employment and business.

While NN welcomes the government’s plans for Banago Port, NN Assistant Vice President Angelito Salvio said the company also has its own development plan for the part of the Banago Port coastal area where NN still has an existing FLA.

He informed the body that NN plans to modernize its port facilities, citing that the company has investors to fund its project.

In fact, NN recently acquired the Aboitiz transport company which owns Supercat Fast Ferry, Superferry and To Go courier, he added.

Golez said that the public and private initiated projects will truly be a big boost to the city.

The flyover projects, which he is also pushing, will complement this undertaking, he added. (Carla N. Canet)

MANILA, Philippines - Robinsons Land Corp (RLC), the real estate development arm of taipan John Gokongwei’s listed flagship firm JG Summit Holdings Inc., has set a P30-billion capital expenditure program over the next two years to build up its landbank and scale up its mall, residential, hotel and office building operations.

At the company’s special shareholders meeting Wednesday, RLC president and chief operating officer Frederick Go said the company is allotting P11 billion over a two-year period to shore up property for future growth.

RLC is one of the several companies that expressed interest to acquire the 103-hectare Food Terminal Inc. complex in Taguig City from the government.

Go said the company is also keen on purchasing properties across Metro Manila to ensure long-term profitability.

He said funding for RLC’s aggressive expansion program will partly come from a proposed rights offering which will generate as much as P13.5 billion.

The company will be issuing up to 1.36 billion common shares at P10 apiece. Shareholders can buy one share for every two shares held as of a record date yet to fixed by RLC.

The offering, which will be managed by ATR Kim Eng Capital, is tentatively scheduled on April 11-15.

RLC said the shares to be issued will come from a planned capital hike from P3 billion to P8.2 billion, of which 25 percent or P1.3 billion will be subscribed and at least 325 million will be paid by way of the stock rights offering.

Among the new malls slated for construction this year are in Pangasinan, Palawan, New Manila and Cebu.

RLC plans to put up a total of 30 Gohotels in and outside Metro Manila over a five-year period.

Programmed for opening this year are in Bacolod and Dumaguete. The next sites will rise in Palawan, Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban for 2012 and Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Zamboanga, Batanes, and Gensan in 2013.

Go said plans are also underway to build two new office buildings in the Ortigas Central Business District.

He said the company is also studying the possibility of expanding overseas with China as a possible site for expansion.

To think man migs that Bacolod malls only catered to a single province., its a big feat already., unlike sa iban na 4 or more provinces ang gina cater .. :)
