Located in Pudong Lujiazui Central Financial District, Shanghai Information Center with a total floor space of 101,235 square meters occupies a site area of 8,250 square meters, with 40 floors above the ground and 4 floors below ground level.

That glass on the facade looks good. Reminds me a little of Commerzbank in Frankfurt.

8/10 - Really reaches for the sky, and for once I'm not going to nitpick about setbacks! Nice, slim shape (even broad side on), and a good contrast between glass and stone on the facade. The spire seems to work well, too, though I'd like to see some shots from that side of the building...
I might have suggested a few setbacks between spire and tower, but it looks like the spire is the top of a structure on the other side, which might not need them...
The stone sections of the facade might benefit from a bit more detail...

this is oddly shaped & massed...looks like a smaller building is in front of it...and they could have done something more with the top instead of those 4 gills..at least stretch them all the way across the top!...no continuity at all...bleh...6.5/10..

O dear! Seems like someone tried to get rid of all his Scrabble letters in one move. :D A bit much going on here! I know, and I admit it: I'm usually the first to gripe about a plain, even fassade, but to me the various elements here somehow don't fit together very well, the whole building has something arbitrary about it.

Shaped like something you'd expect to find inside some electronic device....

Look at the second picture....its like Nokia build this as their headquaters complex...a huge handphone. :D Or maybe it looks more like a walkie-talkie?

it has a revolutionary look, but i don't like how that antenna-like spire get to be counted as part of the building's height. without the spire thingey, it would of only been 211 m tall.

A decidely average building. Looks like a suburban American building, something you would find outside of Detroit, for example, except a lot taller, but not tall enough to get any wow points. The design is a failed attempt at art, but when I see it I dont think its so bad. Still doesnt remind of a skyscraper, more like just a midrise, and not too interesting.

It doesn't do much for me at all. The antenna is gaudy and the design is average at best. It does look like a suburban office tower- we have some just outside of Detroit that look better than this thing sadly. Great location but a lackluster bldg.

Ugh, not a pretty design. The shape is just very strange. The spire takes away from the top of the building, and gills just don't make sense. Too many things going on here.

This tower doesn't even break 700ft. But because of its swollen spire, looks more like an antenna to me, its number 41 besting out much better buildings like Singapore's big 3, Citicorp, and scotia plaza who get there honestly. 0/10. But im grading the building, not the cheating. its ugly. spire is ugly. it all needs to be fixed. 3/10

Take a close look at the top - the ultra-ugly antenna, the useless, mindless vertical slabs of concrete, the cheap-looking facade, the incomprehensible choice of shape and contrast, ... it's clearly a brain dead design by an unqualified mainland Chinese "architect" in the school-dropout category by Western standards.

It's a 0/10 building.

Id rather have a spire coming out of a building in the middle. nothing fancy.
also, buildings like jin mao, chrysler look very pleasing because the building slims down and fades into the spire.
