View Full Version : Languages spoken in Nigeria

Reading Ajepakos thread on Oasis I was inspired to create this thread. I don't really know how many languages Nigeria has but some people say it ranges from 250 to 500.

Well I was always keen on hearing other Nigerian languages as I wanted to compare and contrast. I've heard Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba (alot :tongue2:), Urhobo, Tiv, Isoko, Izon, Efik and of course pidgin.

I'm eager to hear other Languages and it's dialects I've never heard off particulary from the North and the Eastern regions and the middle belt as I believe that region is the most diverse.

It's funny the actors are not Igbo but they resemble the ordinary Okafors and Ngozis :tongue2:

I'm curious to know how Deltan Igbo sounds like as many Igbos told me it's a little different so please post if any of you find it.

Yeah I know but it's more dense and frequent in some regions. I believe the Niger Deltans are like 5 years ahead of us all lol.

P.S. those Fulanis in Cameroon are just an extension of the ones in Adamawa state.

I'm also looking for a vid where all the Fulanis in West Africa assemble with each other annually, it's called Kawtal Jangoobe Puular Fulfulde a.k.a KJPF. I believe this year it was held in Yola Sate but I can't find any links:bash:
