Audio links

Most of the footage that will be posted (later on) won't have audio. So If you like listen to Accuradio, it's free and a great source for anti-Top 40 music lovers.
It may ask for an email address, do so ....it's worth it.

More audio to come

2) Put The Needle The on The Record (http://rainweb2.streamguys.com/radioplayer.aspx?channel=Channel12&sub=SubDJs&mtype=iewm9)

RANDOM CLIPS

1) 450' Building in New York City
Three jumpers take turns leaping from the roof of a 450' building in downtown Manhattan in New York City. Camera angles include helmet-cameras facing forward and backward, from the roof top, and from a window in the building near where the canopies opened. The entire sequence from gaining roof access to the post-jump celebration is captured on video in this rare New York City BASE jump.

HISTORICAL FOOTAGE

1) From a contemporary Edison film company catalog: ELECTROCUTION OF CZOLGOSZ (http://mediastudies.cua.edu/faculty_sites/gitelman/video/executionczolgosz.mpeg) . Unhonored. [code for telegraphic orders]. A detailed reproduction of the execution of the assassin of President McKinley faithfully carried out from the description of an eye witness. The picture is in three scenes. First: Panoramic view of Auburn Prison taken the morning of the electrocution. The picture then dissolves into the corridor of murderer's row. The keepers are seen taking Czolgosz from his cell to the death chamber, and shows State Electrician, Wardens and Doctors making final test of the chair. Czolgosz is then brought in by the guard and is quickly strapped into the chair. The current is turned on at a signal from the Warden, and the assassin heaves heavily as though the straps would break. He drops prone after the current is turned off. The doctors examine the body and report to the Warden that he is dead, and he in turn officially announces the death to the witness. Class B 200 ft. $24.00

2) From a contemporary Edison film company catalog: WHAT HAPPENED ON 23d STREET, NEW YORK CITY. (http://mediastudies.cua.edu/faculty_sites/gitelman/video/tunnel.mpeg) Unbarbour [code for telegraphic orders]. This is a winner and sure to please. The scene as suggested by the title is made on 23d street, New York City. In front of one of the large newspaper offices on that thoroughfare is a hot air shaft through which immense volumes of air is forced by means of a blower. Ladies crossing these shafts often have their clothes slightly disarranged, (it may be said much to their discomfiture). As our picture was being made a young man escorting a young lady, to whom he was talking very earnestly, comes into view and walks slowly along until they stand directly over the air shaft. The young lady's skirts are suddenly raised to, you might say an almost unreasonable height, greatly to her horror and much to the amusement of the newsboys, bootblacks and passersby. This subject is a winner. Class B. 50 ft. $6.00

*Interview Outtakes (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/newyork/sfeature/sf_interviews.html)

Ric Burns interviewed dozens of historians, journalists, artists, engineers and other experts during the making of New York: The Center of the World. Screen these clips for their comments on America and the postwar economy, downtown Manhattan, building the World Trade Center, and more.

* Construction Footage (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/newyork/sfeature/sf_building.html)

How did they do it?

Find out in this eighteen-minute film, Building the World Trade Center, produced by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 1983 with original footage of the towers under construction.

To learn more about the engineering behind the World Trade Center, read an illustrated essay, Towers of Innovation, on the PBS companion site to NOVA's Why The Towers Fell.

* Twin Towers Gallery (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/newyork/sfeature/sf_gallery.html)

As the World Trade Center started to rise in 1970, camera shutters began clicking. Among the people drawn to document the building were two accomplished photographers -- Donald Lokuta and Camilo José Vergara.

Lokuta's work has been collected by institutions including the Skyscraper Museum, the Museum of the City of New York, and the Smithsonian Institution. Vergara, trained as a sociologist, has photographed neighborhoods in major cities across America. Princeton Architectural Press published Vergara's book, Twin Towers Remembered, in 2001.

Browse this gallery of World Trade Center photographs by Donald Lokuta and Camilo José Vergara, taken over the decades from the project's construction to its destruction.

TO BROWSE ON YOUR OWN, START HERE (use my links untill you learn to navi this site....stuffs kinda hidden)

OK...HERE is the directory (http://www.dualmoments.com/epc/index.html) to the site....
If you choose to explore on your own,

(And I suggest you do cause there's no friggin' way I'll get all of em'...but first read this entire post...use my links first, then come back to the main diect and do whatever)

If you browse this site without at least reading this..you'll miss many files....

be sure to hit EVERY link because there's footage @ almost every one..sometimes 3-5 files.
..and be sure to follow: part 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and so on...some have a story line..

IMPORTANT!
once you're in, click on the "Brooklyn Bridge 1899" (http://www.dualmoments.com/Panorama/1903brooklyn.htm) (or just use this link)->
-> look down to about center page and find "Subjects" ->
->follow every link, and the links that they produce..
I know it sounds funny, but you'll see what I mean..
Try to keep track of what you have seen (theres that many)

TO USE MY LINKS (recomended for first time)

now.. if you use the links I provide, they're gonna drop you to the "TITLE" choices. (left click on a title to open)
... then you'll see that particular films viewing options menu..(it'll look like this)

you will see:

*RealMedia format ... for 28.8 or higher modem
*MPEG format ... (how many ever) megabytes
*Quick Time format ... (same here) megabytes

now you can pick which ever you like, but for optimal viewing choose MPEG format
...right click -> save target as -> name the file -> view in windows media..
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :D

THIS PAGE (http://www.dualmoments.com/Panorama/1903brooklyn.htm) is a good starting point...once you're ok with browsing the site,
jump back to the link above (THIS PAGE) and find "subjects"(center page)..branch off from here.
I'm just going to cherry pick some choice footage to get your feet wet...finding the rest is up to you...

MOVIES....CLICK THESE LINKS FOR SELECTIONS

SUBJECT click link below - choose a film from "ITEM TITLES" then you'll see the viewing options menu I described above.
