The town was named St. Louis by Daniel de la Touche in honor of King Louis XIII.
Portuguese and Brazilians expelled the French five years after its founding, but the city's name remained St. Louis
Below, the bust of the city's founder, Daniel de La Touche, Mr La Ravardière, which is located in front of the city hall.
