Saturday Night Special: continuing urban diversions theme ... others will know much more abt this, so i'll just kick it off with three famous melbourne venues:
starting, of course with 'The Espy', Esplanade Hotel (1878) Upper Esplanade St Kilda, home of
Paul kelly, Angels, appearances by
people such as Nick Cave etc.etc.etc.

adding...Beaconsfield Hotel St Kilda handsome, historic, heritage- listed venue whose Perth-based owner, however, has some rather serious problems atm with the David Hookes inquest coming up, compounded by VCAT mediation/possible hearing listed next week over local residents claims that it has been exceeding planning permit (rather then liquor licence) hours for years:
