I'm finally back from Korea :)
After two months of attending hakwon, I'm finally back in Canada. During the two months, I've been able experience Korea's culture, environment and also its World-Class modern technology. I lived in the Tower Palace for two months, experiencing the pleasures of living in a luxury skyscraper, with the health club and swimming pool. I've also been able to go on the new KTX, going to Gwangju and from there, taking a bus to Wando. I was most impressed by the CELLPHONES. Compared to the crap Motorella and Fido cellphones in Canada, Samsung (Anycall) was by far the best in terms of its usefulness and style.
The KTX was lame. Most of ride to Gwangju was on railroads used by Mugunghwa and Saemaeul. In other words, the KTX wasn't the same as the Shinkansen or the TGV; its time was only an hour of Saemaul.
Also, when I was in Seoul, the transportation system all changed; the buse routes all changed and both the bus and subway fares were increased. The subway is now a dollar and the bus like 80 cents?
THE BEST THING was seeing BOA shooting an advertisement on Teheran road beside POSCO and DONGBU building. I was walking down the street to go to my hawkwon (Princeton Review) when I saw her two feet away surrounded by bodyguards.
The weirdest thing in Korea was the Game Channels. MBC Game, Gamenet- these channels broadcast Starcraft and Warcraft 24/7. It turns out that these channels are actually popular.
Anyways... I'll post pictures as soon as I pick them up.
Thanks.
