Great updates as always Cul!

Gee, look at E & Y's core shooting up - it's already halfway up! Seems like only yesterday that the core peeped over the old Herald Sun building...

Btw, 3rd building from left, isn't that meant to be Vic Point, not Vic Park? ;)

Wow, look at all that addtional "space" already underway (by filling in the outlines) and coming to a skyline near you.

Not sure if Melbourne or Brisbane is getting the most additional ATM.

A list of Melbourne's new high-rises with a (roof) height of 100 metres or greater. If only half of the 26 `scrapers listed as approved/proposed get built, I think most of the Melburnian forumers will be more than happy!

First of all:

UNDER CONSTRUCTION (11)

Eureka Tower, 1 Riverside Quay (297.2m/91f) STATUS: floor at 220m/70f, core at 282m/87f (last core rise 20/2)
Freshwater Place Residential North, 1 Queensbridge Square (205m/62f) STATUS: about 150m/46f
Vèrve 501, 501 Swanston Street (170m/45f) STATUS: core at 15m/5f
Ernst & Young Plaza, 8 Exhibition Street (164m/40f) STATUS: about 120m/core at 30f
Southern Cross Stage 1, 101 Exhibition Street (163m/39f) STATUS: about 125m/core at 32f
PricewaterhouseCoopers, 2 Southbank Boulevard (161m/41f) STATUS: core topped out
Royal Domain Tower, 368 St Kilda Road (152m/44f) STATUS: about 95m/32f
Urban Workshop Lonsdale, 50 Lonsdale Street (150m/34f) STATUS: about 75m/core exposed to 21f
QV Residential, 275 Russell Street (142m/47f) STATUS: topped out, floorplates complete, when will they finish?
Victoria Point, 740 Bourke Street (128m/42f) STATUS: about 90m/32f
Milano Apartments, 8 Franklin Street (123m/35f) STATUS: core at 9m/3f

There are also two sub-100m buildings currently under renovation which will go past 100m:

UNDER RENOVATION (2)

351 Collins Street (133m/34f)
Pacific International Apartments, 60 Market Street (101m/27f) STATUS: extra floors in process of being added

Next, these are possibles to go ahead:

APPROVED (18)

Prima on Southbank, 31 Queensbridge Street (223m/65f)
Shangri-La Hotel, Collins Street Docklands (180m/60f)
Savoy Tower, 150 Spencer Street (179m/49f)
Freshwater Place Residential South, 1 Power Street (162m/46f)
Yarra's Edge 8, 120 Lorimer Street (152m/46f)
71 Collins Street (143m/44f)
West End Tower 1, Spencer Street (143m/42f)
West End Tower 2, Spencer Street (143m/42f)
Yarra's Edge 6, 100 Lorimer Street (140m/47f)

716 Bourke Street (109m/31f)
51-65 Clarke Street (104m/32f)
Sportstech Tower, 710 Bourke Street (100m/29f)
Digital Harbour Hotel, cnr La Trobe/Harbour Esplanade (100m/27f)

And finally, proposed talls not yet approved:

PROPOSED (8)

368 Little Collins Street (200m/61f)
565 Collins Street (170m/32f)
Yarra's Edge 9, 130 Lorimer Street (135m/45f)
Yarra's Edge 10, 140 Lorimer Street (135m/45f)
New Quay Commercial, 390 Docklands Drive (125m/27f)
Batman's Hill Residential Tower (?115m/35f)
263-267 City Road (108m/31f)
Whiteman Tower, 42-48 Clarendon Street (107m/35f)

BOOM

Slight 2005 update of the list, probably not terribly accurate for the minute. Yarra's Edge 5 now complete (gone), why is QV Resi taking so long to finish? :bash:

368 Little Collins Street (200m/61f) <--- Primary address of 200m tower
393-403 Bourke Street (200m/62f) <--- address of shorter refurb of existing building on Bourke Street (there's definitely not 2 x 200m towers proposed on the same site :P would be nice though ;))

summary-
As you can see the big E is nearly there! only 4 floors to go in core.theres 20 more floors to pour and also a 50m mast to be erected on roof if aproved this month.FWP has just surpassed 150m/500ft and is looking fine.office towers such as- E&Y Plaza, SX Tower and UWS are all heading towards the 150m mark over next few months.

Are you going to include Cosmo? If so I'll get some shots.Cos on Bourke?

Hansen Yuncken are only going ahead with Stage 1 at this stage. However, Stage 1 will include the footings and the rock anchors for the tower of Stage 2 if the tower goes ahead in the future. In other words, the tower can be constructed atop anytime in the future; 1, 2 5, 10 years from now.

I'm well aware of that Muse (thanks anyway :)) but considering it's technically the beginnings of the tower I think there's reason to include it. Sure it'll have a longer construction life than most 200m towers but it would be like not including a tower in the diagrams until the podium's finished and construction of the tower component commences. I guess this tower's a bit of an enigma but still. I asked whether I should take photos of the site because Cul was considering whether to include it or not.

yeah, im not sure either to add "cosmo" to the diagram. maybe i might leave it out for now.could be 5 years after 1st stage. long time on diagram without action.lol
aussie2000- its no sectret. eureka will eventually acquire the communications mast. maybe even this year.
