Küsimus: kuidas hindate Tapale seni püsti aetud kasarmute praktilisust?

kommentaarid:
2001 ehitati tüüpmaja 180 inimesele. Praegu elab neis tavaliselt 250.
Sooja vett peaks jaguma siiski esimesele 150-nele. Ehk mitte niigi palju. Uuemas kasarmus on leitud uus lahendus - kaotatud laoruumid ja asendatud suuremate pesuruumidega. Nokk kinni, saba lahti. Pole võimalik kogu kompanii koosseisu korraga rivistada, sest puudub vastav normaalne ühiskoridor. Kogu hoone on ülimalt tobedalt projekteeritud-sopistatud-liigendatud.
Miks ainult paarsada m? Sest linnak on ehitatud ebasümmeetriliselt (jälle kokkuhoid?) - tagumiste kasarmute ja söökla-staabi-õppehoone vahele oleks tulnud sõidutee ehitada nagu see on teisel pool. Praegu on söökla kõrval sedavõrd kitsas rada, et allüksused ei mahu 3-4 kaupa rivis käies üksteisest söökla juures mööda. Pääslast sisenedes jääb vasakule parkla. Parka otsal lipumastid. Miks on parklasse vaja lipumaste? Seega tuleb pääslast/kasarmute/söökla (sinna on loomulikult siiski lubatud veokaga sõita) juurest linnaku tagaosas paiknevate hallide juurde platsile jõudmiseks teha jälle - sedakorda veoautodega - auring.

http://www.mil.ee/~fotek/gallery/pildid/album723/ace.sized.jpg

HA! Mida kuradit, lahingpaarilisega peab dušši alla minema v? Ja me elame 21. sajandis kus kasarmutes valitsevad ikka veel askeetlikud tingimused.

päris jabur. muide, huvitav oleks näha nende barakkide plaane. huvitaval kombel ehitati (esmapilgul) sarnaseid barakke juba üle 100 aasta tagasi, oleks tore nende elamis+pesemistingimusi võrrelda :P

üks siuke u-kujuline on koplis tänaseni püsti (täpselt keskel):

Sa räägid nagu Tallinnas oleks ainult see üks ainus barakk püsti :D Tegelikkuses on siin igusuguseid erinevatest ajastutest pärit militaar-majutushooneid.

Võrdluseks: 120 ruutmeetrine kergkonstruktsiooniga ühepereelamu saab 1-1,5 miljoniga hands down ehitada lasta.
Nojah vaid jaoskonna ülem on vaid lapilisesse riietatud.
Ajateenijal on muidugi tore seal nurgataga karistamatult õltsi või kanepit panna, kakelda jne, sest hajutatud rahva üle on kontroll alati raskendatud. Samuti võib ehitada kuhugi poole km jne kaugusele mingi kitsa välilaohoone ja kulutada iga päev tund väljaõppeaega, et sealt asju kätte saada ja õhtul tagasi viia, aga sellest kannatab jällegi rivikaader, kes (erinevalt ajateenijast) vastutab väljaõppe eest.

...price tag of 2000 euros?!! F***,you can get high end bicycle (which is a lot more eco-friendly way of getting around) for that money. In fact, judging by it's front suspension & handlebars,EXO shares quite a few details with bicycles :D

Rebasepoiss
March 20th, 2011, 06:47 PM
^^ True, it is expensive but if I had to choose between this and a regular scooter, I'd probably choose the EXO. I'm quite short and slim so I don't have a problem with it's size. Also, regular scooters use up quite a lot of fuel(around 2-3 litres/100km), they're also annoyingly loud. The biggest downside of the EXO is the lack of a storage space. I'd also happily remove the electronic speed limiter :D

Tin_Can
March 20th, 2011, 07:00 PM
It could be a problem for pedestrians or bikers - EXO's can possibly be quite deadly combination ...silent and allowed to run on bike paths. Although price tag probably keeps them out of reckless teenagers budget.

Rebasepoiss
March 20th, 2011, 09:07 PM
^^ True but since scooters are allowed to run at "bike only" lanes, it shouldn't be that big of a problem. Most of our "bike roads" are mixed bike-pedestrian roads where scooters are forbidden.

Estonian architects suspect Estonian design & construction firm in plagiarism.

Estonian architects Laur Pihel and Tauno Aadma suspect that Nordicasa, firm selling 'Scandinavian designed log houses etc.' in other countries, has copied their design and sold it. 'Original' design is located in Neeme village,Jõelähtme parish. 'Copy' is in ski resort of Valdelinares,Spain. Pihel & Aadma were not sure for some time if residential building in Valdelinares is plagiarism, but after some investigation they noticed that despite some minor changes in project it's still copy of their work,as in addition to shared architectural design elements it also included minor design flaw of it's Estonian counterpart. Nordicasa claimed at first that their building was designed by company leader, but later changed their story to 'work ordered from some Bolivian architect'. Estonian architects are now planning to sue Nordicasa.

Estonian Association of Architects has sided with Laur Pihel and Tauno Aadma in this story and is planning to support architects all the way in court.

See for yourself. What do you think? Was it just inspired by Pihel & Aadma work or is it pure plagiarism?

The Kaamos Kinnisvara has plans for Filtri road planning. Next to Prison of Tallinn and military graveyard (other side of Filtri str to the railway). Kaamos had before many projects. Only one has become useful - Tammsaare tee Ärimaja. All other projects were crap.

Filtri str place has lots of shitty problems. Its in middle of nowhere, railway and Järvevana road noise and NB a flyzone, to be exact a corridor for landing

If they dont try to build IKEA store - its pretty useless place.

^^ It's still very close to the city centre which is a major upside. Besides, they will probably build noise barriers to decrease railway noise (and Järvevana road noise), making it potentially quieter than Uus-Maailm district, for example. There are several flight corridors over Tallinn, none of which goes directly above the forementioned area.

I disagree with that 'in the middle of nowhere' part, estlander. If you look how much stuff is planned/proposed there, then Filtri & Veerenni streets and area surrounding it will become major construction site in 5-10 years time. Only thing holding back developments is Tallinn's prison - as soon as it will be relocated, property values will skyrocket and entire area will become probably the most active areas in Tallinn in terms of U/C buidlings. It doesn't take a genius to realize the value of this part of city - undeveloped part of Downtown without any major obstacles, but with good infrastructure & city wide access. I bet real estate developers are already drooling :D

Arvatavasti kuulutati konkurss välja paar päeva ennem deadline'i.

Guys, who has time and willignes to step a small stepp to a mankind, but big....

And here comes the meaning of life:

Lets make a little meet-up and discuss about making presentation to EAS and Kulka architecture representatives. Idea, is to make in field of "export" a small scale "mat. toetus süsteem" for next 5 years. Every youngster-made full-scale contest entry to "any part beside estonia" can get small amount of "klotsi" (as much as possible). So, it means, that a young architect from Ruhnu island or from some the bombhole located "rehielamu" can send digitally entry of skyscrapers to... some Dubai contest.

So, it means, more working hours in MASU time and more "not sitting and doing nothing".

all yours... and yes I know, its all old talked Idea from last millenium and so...

Sõbrad,

Mis arvate kas võiks luua eraldi topicu Photos foorumi alla:

- Eesti funktsionalism (valged majad only)... see oleks üks olulisi ja tugevamaid Eesti brändingu poole pealt.

Teiseks, mulle meeldib Foto rubriigis teema "Estonian contryside" - väga julge. Kuid on näha sellist tagasisidet, kus üks pool on tembeldatud nordic'uks ja teine ze germans'iks...

Mine tegele oma brändinguga kuskil mujal. Selline tegevus suvalises netifoorumis pole kohane, vaid hoopis tobe, isegi halenaljakas.

Mind pani mõtlema see, kuidas Tallinna LVs mõte töötab.

:ohno::ohno::ohno:

Tegemist on juba superpropaganda suurepärase näitega.

Veelgi enam, linna mürakaardi järgi on müra suurenenud 72% viimase viie aasta jooksul.

Kõrvulukustavat müra, ehk 75 dB müraga piirkondades elab praegu 1400 Tallinna elanikku.

Häirivas müras elab 270 900 inimest.

Muude müraallikate, nagu:

a) tööstuse,
b) lennuliikluse;
c) laevaliikluse;
d) trammi- ja rongiliikluse

... mõjualas elab vaid 15 000 elanikku.

WTF.

Selle peale läheks juba isegi sinna komisjoni ja saadud papi eest ostaks suurema auto

Thanks to Tin_Can for trying to help me.

We were visiting Estonia last weekend. Precisely Tartu and very south-east corner of Estonia (Meremae, Obinitsa). Just a typical trip for Latvian in autumn if it decides not to visit Sigulda (in autumn most visited city) this year. Weather was actually quite normal, even for sightseeing.

First thoughts goes for roads. If great and normal they are in Estonia, then terrible and in poor quality in Latvia. Of course many roads in Latvia also are in good shape. Also very minor roads which goes to Meremae had asphalt, which in my thoughts is very extraordinary, because in Latvia almost every minor road is from gravel. Maybe just a coincidence (in my opinion Voru maakond is very friendly for tourists).

As of sightseeing - seen caves somewhere near Maremae, some old ruins of castle and just enjoyed beautiful nature and weather.

Tartu is very beautiful city. Downtown is very modern and quite enjoyable, but most beautiful - many old houses which mostly are in good shape. Science museum was awesome (you even have thought about Latvian language there - respect!). One new bridge was very interesting.

I envy roads and Tartu and it's architecture and science museum.
Usually when ordinary Latvians visit neighbors, they envy them (it's our tradition) :)

Please do not envy. It does not make things better for Latvia :) But I understood, what you wanted to say with that nevertheless. Nice to hear, that you had a happy and enjoyable trip! If you are going someday to Tallinn, there is Lennusadam - a place to visit.. It might be for your taste. Also, if you are planning second trip. I dont know for sure, but few years back was ferry line from Riga to Kuressaare (Saaremaa island). From there to Muhumaa and back to Triigi-Sõru ferry to Hiiumaa island and from Heltermaa to Rohuküla ferry to mainland. And drive to Tallinn - maybe even Helsinki and back to Tallinn, Pärnu and Riga again.

We have 20 design shops and to sell your product here - you must be swede". Friend told back to swedish voice: "Are you racist or smth! I support this idea and I would gladly move somewhere else, but I can't because my job is here :) As long as the jobs are mainly in Tallinn, people would have to move to Tallinn. Everything does not have to be in Tallinn.

Of course it's a waste of resources. Spend millions of euros for moving and new workspace, practically let go at least half of your current workers, then find new workers, spend time and money to train them etc.

I really don't understand why most Estonians hate Tallinn and city life in general so much.

BTW, what do you guys think of the idea of moving several state departments and institutions out of Tallinn and into places like Kuressaare, Rakvere, Tartu, Pärnu etc?

I'm personally dubious about the idea. Sure, not everything has to be in Tallinn but there is a reason why everything IS in Tallinn...
It's one thing to move them to smaller towns and whole another thing to keep the system effectively running. It just brings the state operating costs (and thus also the taxes) up and for common people brings more time & money loss. For example - some Jüri or Mari from some village needs to get legal paperwork done in some state office. So he/she goes to Tallinn. It's annoying and uncomfortable, but atleast his/her backdrop village has more or less decent public transportation connection with capital. But if things would change, that person would still have to come to Tallinn (!) and then continue to his/her destination as there's no direct PT connection between his/her village and whatever small town which would house state institution.

Not to mention that such forceful decentralisation doesn't bring life to small towns & rural areas. It's short sighted to think that state has power to stop rural peoples migration to urban areas. At best it's possible for state to boost living conditions for people and encourage private sector (through reduced taxes & other incentives) to open businesses & create workplaces in small towns & rural areas.

I really don't understand why most Estonians hate Tallinn and city life in general so much.
I second to that. It seems that for some people you're not a "decent Estonian" if you don't live in suitsusaun in the middle of nowhere...

World Federation of Great Towers (http://www.great-towers.com/) ametlik liige > http://www.great-towers.com/towers/tallinn-tv-tower/

Ericsson releases film about e-Estonia (full film included)

gzEkRvgfpWw

Telecommunication company Ericsson recently released an hour-long, documentary-style film called “Life in a networked society” about e-services in Estonia.

“Life in a networked society” looks into Estonia’s e-elections, e-taxes, e-school, e-medicine and other innovative solutions in public services which cut bureaucracy and costs.

The film includes conversations with decision-makers such as Minister of Economic Affairs and Communication Juhan Parts, IT Technology College associate professor and board member Linnar Viik, and Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves.

Ilves recounts how the e-tax system came about: “Probably the first big thing was doing your tax return online. By the end of the 1990′s, 97-98 percent of people were filing their tax returns online. It’s so much easier because all your numbers are handy there. You don’t have to sit there and add things up. And this had an additional effect of dramatically increasing compliance. People paid their taxes more efficiently, which allowed us to actually reduce tax levels and suddenly the Estonian government found out that they had budget surpluses because more people were paying taxes.”

EESTI ARHITEKTUURIMUUSEUMI PRESSITEADE

12. aprillil 2013 kell 17.00 avatakse Eesti Arhitektuurimuuseumi suures saalis näitus

„Made in Estonia. Tehtud Eestis - tööstusarhitektuur eile ja täna”

Milliseid arhitektuurseid üllatusi pakuvad suletud vabrikuterritooriumid? Millised näevad välja need hooned lähivaates või seestpoolt?

Näitus annab esimest korda ülevaate Eesti tööstushoonete arhitektuurist minevikus ja olevikus. Väljas on näited kõige silmapaistvamatest ja samas ka kõige tüüpilisematest tehastest, kunagistest Euroopa suurimatest tööstuskompleksidest ja väiksematest, kuid meile siiski olulistest vabrikutest. Eksponeeritud on originaalprojektid ja maketid. Samuti on esil valik viimastel aastakümnetel uue funktsiooni saanud rekonstrueeritud tööstushoonetest ning veel realiseerimata ambitsioonikatest tulevikuvisioonidest.

Näituse kuraatorid: Henry Kuningas, Monika Eensalu
Näituse kujundajad: Mariana Hint, Epp Õlekõrs

Näituse toetaja: Eesti Kultuurkapital

Näitus on Arhitektuurimuuseumis avatud kuni 26. maini 2013.

Regarding Kosmos, does the empty field (http://goo.gl/maps/RBWrc) on the corner of Pärnu mnt and Liivalaia st also belong to the cinema? Or are there any plans for it?

^^ That's a different plot that belongs to the state. I've no idea if there are any plans for it, though.

i remember a project for the plot from, dunno, many-many years ago. it was a greenish glass building, probably some 7 levels high. can some sherlock here find this article? (can't even remember if it was online or on paper.)

but in late 60s or early 70s there was a 14 storey tower proposed for the plot. i'd love a slender midrise here.

^^ A midrise would be awesome. At the moment, that intersection looks pretty crap, to be honest. The streets are wide anyway and there are no buildings on two of the four corners.

Can't remember exactly, but I think that empty grass lot has got approved detail plan for >6-7 storey building. Could be the same thing what Jarmo mentioned.

I seriously hope that if something ever gets built there,it has extremely good architectural value. It's just so prominent location.

täna välkloeng:

VENEETSIA KURAATORIVÕISTLUSE SUPERFINAAL 23. MAI VÄLKLOENGUL!

23. mail kell 19.00 toimub Eesti Arhitektuurikeskuse välkloeng „VENEETSIA ERI: PÕHITÕED – FUNDAMENTALS 1914-2014“. Seekordse välkloengu näol on tegu harukordse sündmusega, sest üles astuvad XIV Veneetsia arhitektuuribiennaali Eesti ekspositsiooni kuraatorivõistluse finalistid.

Kuraatorivõistlusele esitatud kahekümnest tööst valiti finaalvooru osalema seitse. Finaali pääsenute seast valib žürii Eesti esindaja 2014. aastal toimuvale maailma tähtsaimale arhitektuurinäitusele Veneetsias, mille seekordseks peakuraatoriks on arhitekt Rem Koolhaas ning teemaks “Fundamentals: Absorbing Modernity: 1914-2014” („Põhitõed: modernsuse omaksvõtt 1914-2014”).

Remi eesmärk pole kindlasti keskenduda pelgalt ajaloole. Pigem soovib ta just tuleviku tarbeks alla kriipsutada need „head ja vead“, mida arhitektuuri globaliseerumine on viimase saja aasta jooksul kaasa toonud. Teatud mõttes seisame me uue ajastu alguses – globaliseerunud infotehnoloogiline maailm on jõuliselt sisenenud arhitektuurisfääri ning meie igapäevasesse elukeskkonda.

ESINEJAD
XIV Veneetsia arhitektuuribiennaali Eesti ekspositsiooni kuraatorivõistluse finalistid:
• Estonian worthwhile architecture (Matteo Poli, Itaalia)
• Hügieeniline arhitektuur (Villem Tomiste, Eesti)
• Modernne kool (Indrek Saarepera, Eesti)
• Suvitamine ja kooperatiivid (Villem Tomiste, Eesti)
• Uus tundlikkus ja intiimsus eesti arhitektuuris (Karin Paulus, Maria Pukk, Ivar Lubjak, Eesti)
• Vaba ruum (Johanna Jõekalda, Johan Tali, Siim Tuksam, Eesti)
• Väike on inimlik (Leonhard Lapin, Eesti)

MODERAATOR ÜLAR MARK
Ülar Mark on arhitekt ja XIV Veneetsia arhitektuuribiennaali Eesti ekspositsiooni komissar. Ülar Mark esindas Eestit 2006. aasta biennaalil projektiga „Joint Space“ ning on alates 2008. aastast tegutsenud Eesti ekspositsiooni komissarina. Mark on varsemalt töötanud Narva linnaarhitektina, Eesti Arhitektide Liidu esimehena ning Eesti Arhitektuurikeskuse juhatajana. Praegusel hetkel tegutseb Ülar Mark arhitektina arhitektuuribüroos Allianss Arhitektid.

KOPLI 101 – HARULDASE AJALOOGA EHITIS
Seekordse välkloengu asukoht, praegune Eesti Mereakadeemia peahoone, on väärika ajalooga.

It seems there's a little war going on between taggers and grannies in Lilleküla jaam:

Last week it was ony the tag, a day later the paper and now since a few days the new "request".

Yeah, but not just tags. Graffiti for example suits very well on the concrete wall at the back of A Le Coq arena: http://goo.gl/maps/cTCEJ

Sadly, that also has been pretty much destroyed completely by these lame taggers.
