Plaza Mayor-madrid(from 1600s-was the official square and host to bullfights, executions, religious processions, and of course the inquisition)

Colors, arcades this is very Castillan. Spain is a very diversified (more than we often believe) country. This has many element of Castille's architecture.

Remember that the Spanish were ruled by the House of Hapsburg for a few hundred years so a lot of the architecture is reminiscient of Austro-german styles.
