I am SO SO worried. My grandparents are at risk :ohno: The government thugs are combing through upper class neighborhoods, raiding houses, looting them, vandalising them.

I have 2 pairs of grandparents, both are 85 years old and over, sick and weak. They can hear the gunshots from their houses. It is lawless now. Lawless. I am worried sick.

Alas, the people/protesters have formed groups to protect each others neighborhoods, and they are beginning to subdue the thugs, and hand them over to the army.

The army is sending buses of soldiers to different neighborhoods to maintain order.

Things are getting undercontrol. I believe that Omar Soleiman will announced as president. As noted on numerous channel, it will only be for a short time until we choose democrately the new president (Believed to be Baradei).

One of the numerous reason why i say that. Omar Soleiman is known to be private. He doesn't like to work in front of the media with a huge pressure. He's likely to stay as the head chief of egyptian secret force (Intelligency).

While Egyptians man were called in mass to protect the cities from baltageya.

Gamal Mubarak resignation is true, he will never have the chance to become a president after his father.

Hosny Mobarak future is uncertain for sure now that his son and most of the egyptian tycoon left the country. Hosny Mobarak is left alone.

Red Alert: Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood

The following is a report from a STRATFOR source in Hamas. Hamas, which formed in Gaza as an outgrowth of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood (MB), has an interest in exaggerating its role and coordination with the MB in this crisis. The following information has not been confirmed. Nonetheless, there is a great deal of concern building in Israel and the United States in particular over the role of the MB in the demonstrations and whether a political opening will be made for the Islamist organization in Egypt.

RELATED SPECIAL TOPIC PAGE
The Egypt Unrest
The Egyptian police are no longer patrolling the Rafah border crossing into Gaza. Hamas armed men are entering into Egypt and are closely collaborating with the MB. The MB has fully engaged itself in the demonstrations, and they are unsatisfied with the dismissal of the Cabinet. They are insisting on a new Cabinet that does not include members of the ruling National Democratic Party.

Security forces in plainclothes are engaged in destroying public property in order to give the impression that many protesters represent a public menace. The MB is meanwhile forming people’s committees to protect public property and also to coordinate demonstrators’ activities, including supplying them with food, beverages and first aid.

Mubarak doesnt have to leave immediately like a dog to quell the people's anger. the smart thing to do right now would be for him to declare that he will not run in the upcoming elections ( and maybe hold election prematurely). For the sake of a smooth transition of power, he needs to give the promise that these elections would be fair and that the changes WILL come!

not another egyptian should shed another drop of blood:ohno:

Last time I checked state television (a few minutes ago) they were still broadcasting on-going propaganda with the aim of instilling fear of the consequences of a revolution amongst the population, hoping to decrease protests tomorrow.

I really don't understand why this man is still holding on to power... the only way to quell the peoples anger (my anger at least) is for him to leave ASAP. I agree with you, but there also needs to be a responsible temporary leadership as soon as he leaves. we can't let the Cairo/Alexandria/Suez to be lawless like they are right now.

On BBC, a phonecall from an Egyptian citizen in Nasr city (Cairo) confirms that the only functioning police station is in Heliopolis near Mubarak's palace. The rest are empty and looters are caught with machines guns usually only avaliable at police stations and some had on them police identification.

Citizens are calling on the army for protection; and the army once again attempts to secure the area and arrest any thugs in sight.

Are soccer supporters groups leading Egyptian protests?

In what appears to be a mostly leaderless revolt in Egypt the supporters groups of local soccer clubs appear to be leading many of the protests:

Alaa Abd El Fattah, a prominent Egyptian blogger who was interviewed on Al Jazeera today, made the interesting observation that the uprising’s most effective organizational strength comes from a quarter that has been ignored by most of the media: soccer fans known as ultras.

“The ultras — the football fan associations — have played a more significant role than any political group on the ground at this moment,” Alaa said. “Maybe we should get the ultras to rule the country,” he joked.
[War In Context]

This isn't a far-fetched idea.

The video above is from the supporters group Ultras Ahlawy who are backers of the largest soccer club in Egypt, Al-Ahly. They are consistent trophy contenders not only in Egypt but throughout the continent of Africa, often considered the most successful club in Africa having won the continental championship six times. Their crosstown rivals, Zamalek SC, are no slouches either having won the continental title five times. Their supporters group, the White Knights, are ultras as well.

Soccer is by far the most popular sport in the country and as is noted later in the link when you can't compete in politics you can still compete in the stands, on the street, and, most importantly, on the field. The idea of organized fan groups going beyond the typical fan or booster club is mostly foreign in America, though Major League Soccer clubs and the US national team have a fledgling supporters culture. This isn't first time soccer and politics mixed and it probably won't be last. It's a common theme for the sport throughout its history, one need look no further than the rivalries in Scotland between Celtic and Rangers and in Croatia between Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb.

Saba7 el kheir everybody , the Egyptian regime closed down Aljazeera offices in Egypt because they are showing the truth unlike the Egyptian TV , they are reporting that tens of thousands of people are gathering in Midan Al ta7reer chanting the Revolution slogan " al sha3b toreed iskat al ra2ees" ( people want to bring the president down).

Basically , this regime is still saying to the people: i haven't understood you yet .
Mubarak still has hope to stay .

I can't believe what this criminal regime has done yesterday , the security forces suddenly disappeared and supported looters and baltageyya and killers spreading fears all over Egypt to tell people : chose between an oppressive regime that you are familiar with or complete chaos .
Egyptian people has shown a great deal of responsibility and civilization by protecting their homes and their national treasures themselves , proving that they do care about this country much more than the regime , the ruling party and the security forces .

I don't know how this works or whether it does at all but here it is:
If you know anyone in Egypt, pass this on to them:

Egypt : To bypass government blocking of website names, use numerical IP addresses:

for twitter "128.242.240.52"

for facebook "69.63.189.34"

......for google "72.14.204.99"

He is but mostly amongst the rich and the ignorants who after 12 centuries of rule of dynasties, including the king's dynasty (4 centuries) tend to cling to what they know rather than look for change.
Even if a revolt does not erupt in Morocco and other Arab countries, the fear barrier has been broken and we are no longer afraid, thans to Tunisians and Egyptians! Now the rulers are afraid of the people!

Disclaimer: I meant by rich the Bourgeoisie and by ignorants the vast numbers of illiterates in the country!

By name only, the king controls everything although his reign is much much better than his father's, yet we live in a dictatorship nevertheless.
