Nice pics as always. :)

If truly given a chance, Sheekh can become a very great place. Mild climate with nice scenery.

Pretty modern design.

Sheekh is one of the most serene and calming Somali towns I have seen blessed with lush natural beauty. I wouldn't mind building a cottage there in the future, or something more ambitious. I kinda understand now what lured the Emir of Kuwait to construct a palace there, it's lovely!

Is it spelled Skiikh on that map? Had a hard time finding it there.

Very tranquil place though, reminds me a bit of the pics I seen of the highlands south of Addis although a bit more rugged

Constantine, compared to the furnace like climate of Berbera and the coast, Sheekh is a great place to escape from the heat. That is it's major appeal.

My father said that he used to go there on the weekends with his cousins when he was a kid. I was blessed to have the opportunity to visit it in 2003. :)

kool.
Didn't the Kuwaiti king also own a palace/holiday home in Mogadishu?
The Kuwaiti royals seem to love Somalia
A wealthy Yemeni fella also owns land there to grow crops I believe.

Sheikh is beautiful indeed but travelling on that road is hella scary:nuts:

More Somali cities should be build in the highland regions, it's practically uninhabited for the most part. Most cities seem near lowland wadis or on the coast.

Very adventurous and exotic looking mountain road - is it new-ish?

^Majority of Somalia's paved road system was built in the 70s/80s, though there was most likely a rudimentary road already in place for some time.

Interesting sis, I didn't know that. That Serpentine road is definitely a pleasure ride for the future. :)
