PROJECT WATCH: The Riviera, Paseo Mall and ZCX & Exhibit Center at Paseo del Rio

New developments at the Paseo del Rio revealed that officially, the high rise hotel will be called The Riviera. Along with the hotel is the multi-storey Paseo Mall and Convention Center and finally the ZCX & Exhibit Center. These three buildings were reflected on the newly-installed large tarpaulin at the site across the work area shown above.

Several weeks ago, there were articles I posted that Genesis Group is going to manage the hotel and so it is. How many storeys? Lets wait for the final press release but based on the latest perspective, it’s gonna be at least 17 floors.

The Paseo Mall is perhaps new but based on the design, the mall will occupy the lower floors with the Convention Center over it. You can see some basement area with the mall elevated.

The ZCX & Exhibit Center shown below maybe a showcase or museum of sorts, good for exhibits (of course) and galleries. It’s more like a 3-storey structure with high ceilings.

I assume The Riviera will be along the river, Paseo Mall is next to the hotel and finall ZCX and Exhibit Center will be along Biasong Road. Vertical construction is now on-going and I will post them sooner. For this time, just marvel at the latest development for Paseo del Rio, now a PEZA Zone.

This project will definitely be a new growth area in this section of the city.

this is classic! there are already three structures to be built in PDR and they're just the beginning.

i bet there will be BPO offices that will be included here. hope in the next few months we'll be able to know the exact GFA of this mall :banana: :) :cheers:

I think the convention center is part of the mall. When we were there last Wednesday, I noticed that the convention center will be located at the back of the mall or at top of the mall. It's like that the convention center will be in front of the Genesis-Riviera Hotel. ^^

The title should be "Paseo Mall and Convention Center [4|F]." ^^

According to SEC and PSE, the business address of Walter Brown's business empire is in Airport Road, Cagayan de Oro. It is safe to say that ABCI is a homegrown company imo.

That road could be the one in the middle next to the yellow line below. There has to be an access road to the hotel to transport clients to the hotel lobby.

me thinks, the lot with the two towers is not part of the current u/c. and yes, there could be a road leading to the hotel entrance/lobby. The ZCX's entrance could be facing the lobby while the mall's is facing the road. Seeing the construction pics and rendering, looks like the mall and zcx will be occupying one building. :)

What matters to me now is that this Paseo Mall seems to be another high end mall in the golden city. ^^

^^for me there is something to look forward to even when the mall is finished. That area looks so promising in the future and may become a bustling business district within the next 5 to 10 years. :cheers:

IMO the PDR area will be like LKK complex five to ten years from now. theres an upcoming mall, hotel and convention center. what it lacks these days are restaurants and more buildings.

City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula today welcomed the proposed architectural design of world-renown architect Felino “Jun” Falafox Jr. to develop “Paseo del Rio”- an ambitious riverfront mixed use development of a 10-hectare property owned by the Pelaez family at barangay Macasandig, this city.

Once realized, Mayor Jaraula told City Hall officials and employees during Monday’s flag raising ceremony that the project will certainly emerge as Cagayan de Oro City’s newest growth area within the urban center. The City Mayor, at the same time, expressed optimism that the “Paseo del Rio” project or translated as “promenade by the river”, will stimulate the development of Cagayan de Oro as a globally-competitive city and put the city in the global tourism map. Commissioned by the family of Dr. Rafaelita P. Pelaez to craft the project’s architectural design and overall concept, Mayor Jaraula said Falafox is currently ranked at No. 94 out of the top 500 architects throughout the world. The multi-million “Paseo del Rio” project, that will cover open areas surrounding Carmen/Nazareth/Macasandig Bridge, will also complement with Mayor Jaraula’s flagship river boulevard development project which he is boldly pursuing along the riverbank of the Cagayan de Oro River. The initial phase of the “Boulevard” along the river bank will consist of a 600-meter “walkway” from City Hall up to the city’s fifth bridge and a “Boulevard” from Toribio Chaves Street to J.R. Borja Street, about one kilometer, to be known as the “Golden Mile”. In his presentation before the members of the City Council on Monday’s regular session, Falafox said the proposed project is designed… “as a place where people can walk, shop and dine in one walkable community…” Applying his vast expertise in modern urban planning and design, Falapox said the concept of the “Paseo del Rio” is a multi-use approach of development in the project site that will boosts of high-rise waterfront and medium-size hotels, restaurants, mixed-use commercial and business centers, playground, covered walkways, gazebo, rotunda, underground parking, and many amenities and recreational facililities.

Once fully developed, the project can generate employment to about 30,000 to 50,000 people, according to Falafox.

Do you have building for rent or space for lease in brgy Puerto? If you have, well you can have a deal with SM since the firm now is seriously considering putting another Savemore branch in one of the city's very progressive barangays. Once the firm already secure a building, SM savemore will be in operation after few months of renovation just like the firm did to Kairo. ^^

THIS December, a new yuletide tradition begins in Cagayan de Oro! "Christmas @ the Circle," an extravaganza of fun---shows, games, and shopping happens at the Rodelsa Circle, the rotunda at the foot of the Carmen-Nazareth bridge.

Named after the landowners Rodolfo and Elsa Pelaez, the Rodelsa Circle is the new happening place in our city as it becomes the hub of a corporate and business development that will include a high-end mall, a tony hotel and a 3,000-seater convention center, among others.

From December 16 to 31, the Rodelsa Circle will come alive with sundry treats: a variety show featuring the resident artistic companies of Liceo de Cagayan University; a battle of the bands (for show bands); a hiphop dance Contest; a singing contest (adult and kids categories); a Christmas bazaar (from 4 p.m. to midnight); and a pyromusical fireworks display (on New Year's Eve). These activities are open to the public free of charge.

regarding the status of the mall, dubbed as "little Rockwell of mindanao". possible jud na siya... with the pelaez'es way of living, grandioso baya jud na sila... joker kaayo na sila mismo sosyalan then ilang mall na gi construct pang masa. it would be high end definitely. but then again its just my observation. by the way rockwell center is small baya jud its not big though.. :)

same here.. walay retail background ang Zealep. Office space leasing ang ilang business usually. I'm more interested about the ZCX though... Among company excited ani, kay at least naa na madugang sa choices for the year end party venue..hehe

thats a very good question. hope the one that will handle the mall will be an experienced company so as to be as competitive as the other malls in the city. it would be nice to see other brands that are not present in both SM and LKK.

according to the tarp, the paseo mall is 4 floors while the exhibit center is only three. youll get my point as soon as youll see them

i think the paseo mall and exhibit center are two different projects

what i have in mind is, the Mall and ZCX will be occupying the same building. The mall will be facing the Rodelsa Circle while the ZCX will be facing the Hotel lobby. If you take a closer look at the photo, the mall is only a three level building + 2 level parking = 5F. In the masterplan, from rodelas circle, there will be a vehicle ramp going to the hotel lobby thus 3 levels nlng tan awon ang likod sa mall (w/c could be the ZCX). The first 2 floors of this building could be for ratail, while the 3rd floor could be occupied by the ZCX. from the lobby of ZCX, siguro butangan ug long escalator leading to the 3rd floor or the convention area proper, ala SMX.

the illustration is a good visual of the project to be.. lets just wait for a few more weeks para makita nato ang break up sa buildings... with the question whether who's going to manage paseo mall, basin pa diay ang rustans... since sa una sa opening sa rustans fresh sa ayala present pud si madamme rafaelita. one time gani if im not mistaken, nag personal shop si madamme and her family sa rustans na sila lang ang naa sa sulod. that was 2 years ago when i was still in cebu.

Medyo daan na man na ang chismis na Robi ang anchor sa Centrio... The latest rumored anchor kay Rustan's daw... Gikan ni kay Mayor VYE! Rustan's Fresh Supermarket experience would be good... However, a Rustan's Department Store experience excites me more... So, hopefully, tinuod ang latest rumor... Kon Robi man gani, way blema gihapon... :-)

I prefer Rustan's to be the anchor store of Centrio Mall--Home of Fashion. :)

the entire area of PDR is huge and there are still plenty of vacant lots that can be found. if shopwise will soon rise in CdeO, i bet the owners will personally make sure that they will keep on making money even after a decade or two. shopwise will be in a position that is very convenient for all shoppers in cdeo and normin. in short, pwede didto sila sa LKK or sa Centrio (rumored ground breaking next month) or dri sa PDR IMO.
