That's the Ethio-China Polytechnic Institute. It's in the Kotebe area (not too far from CMC) and it's been open since late 2009.

Brand new building on Hawassa's campus, Hawassa U has a really nice campus! I especially like your last photo yosef. One university that is missing is Bahir Dar University but every picture Ive seen of it makes it look kinda backwater. Though this thread gives it some hope.

lol, we need more of those in Addis as well. The ones I saw were really slow (needed a week) and ridiculously expensive (for being Ethio).

Oh dear gad. Who did they hire to do the landscaping? Look at the horrid arrangement of the trees and the lack of any foresight in their spacing and placement. How are they gonna grow properly being so damn close to each other?? Do they not realize there is a curb?? And why would you plant trees right in front of the fire hydrant and emergency phone??

You would think that if they knew enough to design a beautiful building and include basic necessities like a fire hydrant and emergency phone, that they would know better than to do something so stupid. smh

Some flowers and bushes would be a nice touch but I dont think its all that bad.

Note: These are newly constructed buildings and landscaping has not been implemented.

It's under construction, I believe it's the university in Semera which is the regional city in Afar region. The "city" itself is new and under construction since ~10 years back.

Yes, operational and under construction at the same time. I believe it started with four faculties. I believe they are adding school of engineering and more dorm spaces.

Not seven years. The university started operation around 08/09 but the city has been under construction for last 10 or so years.
