I think this will actually be the Conrad hotel and Trances, you are right - i read that it would be 350m +. And thank god they realised that a parking lot on priceless land made no sense! Where did you hear about this tower from Trances?

From a Company that is bidding for compant of the tower inc the car park which oddly will start first from what I understand

I found this in a thread Dubai-lover posted about the hilton Palm Island. Seems its not going to be so tall at 350 rooms, bummer!!!!!!!!!

Private Property Management, another development partner, has shortlisted bidders for project management consultancy for a Dh550 million, 350-room Conrad Dubai Hotel, Hilton's deluxe brand of hotels. The hotel will be located on a plot between Fairmont Hotel and API World Tower on Shaikh Zayed Road.

A main contractor for the project is expected to be chosen during the first half of next year. Site work for the project will start in July with completion set for 2007.

i'm a bit confused, so conrad is a chain of hilton?

Hilton is a chain and the Conrad is a boutique hotel brand within the hilton group , its named after the guy who founded the hilton chain -Conrad Hilton (paris,s grand daddy BTW) Anyways the article was about the local operator of thew hilton brand saying they are looking at doing a Hilton on the palm and a Conrad on SZR
