thats an indicator of your population age + crime + wars + health service quality

Iraq does VERY well on the population age and crime bits, purely because most of our population is VERY young. Its the "wars" mainly that push it down.

nah shay6an, i mean the position iraq is in , in that list... is that a good thing that we are their.. its saying that only 5/1000 people die, which sounds pretty good... we are somewhere at the bottom according to the CIA factbook one.

Iraq is in that position due to the population age. we have a very small number of old people, and a huge number of youngsters, it means that the deaths of older people is a tiny percentage.

Also Iraq has "adequate" food and medical supplies and even potable water (now everyone drinks bottled water in Iraq even the poorest people) so deaths due to simpler medical complications are very rare.

Terrorism in Iraq doesn't really make much difference here, since the numbers killed are about 2500 a year, which is statistically insignificant for a country of 30M.

In the future, Iraq will not go up massively in this statistic, since the improved hospitals and water supplies (as well as lower violent deaths hopefully) will be mitigated by an aging population...

this is not the statistic that matters.. look at HDI (Human Development Index).
