I've always wondered, with such a huge population of IT folks and being the best of the IT consultants recognized worldwide, why we don;t set our home straight and use technology to the core. Is it political or sheer ignorance?

I see a need for a thread where we can discuss how IT governance is paying the divident in India, and how TN should adopt and ponder with ideas, suggestions. And also wanted to see if we can combine people to initiate certain pilot application working with the govt, for the betterment of facilities. I think, as a responsible citizen, we shouldn;'t stop at just praising ourselves, picking our pains more often, and ideally should try contribute in whatever the manner it makes sense. are we ready for this?

I'm hopeful that each of us will start using the online opportunity which should make the e-governance become effective in terms of bringing transparency in the govt.

On my first hand visit, most of the sites are broken or quite out-dated. I'm shocked to see that we don't maintain the sites very well which defeat the whole purpose of it.

we should strive to make this happen, and I'm hopeful we spread the message of online access and follow up with the IT admin to ensure they provide the relevant information upto-date. I know its quite too much to ask, but it is good it it happens one day.

I'm looking to build value based services with cloud based technology opportunities. let's see what ideas, pops up from the forum members!

To begin with, I looked at my municipality site ( i hail from Avadi), and to my shock no information is relevant to the citizen. Even a school kid will maintain a better web page than these morons. We have special authority task force to maintain the website and IPS grade officers are assigned to manage the egovernance. seems, something seriously wrong with them!

I've taken up to the municipality commissioner, let's see what I hear from him. I hope you too do the same to make it happen. A small help to our community! and it doesn't cost us much.

Similiarly like each House,vehicle,D/L should hav smartcard each...anything related payment upgradation to be done by smartcard, this can save time energy and minimize corruption.

small eg: to keep our street vicinity clean such machanism will ensure penalties levied and payment made by each individual house(in person or online) if they violate rules .

regular patrolling(Police or designated person) can ensure the above(similiar to vehicle checking)

lets be optimistic ....start from anna nagar chennai.....gradually to kannagi nagar
