Descending into Vancouver
The following photos show the southern suburbs as the aircraft headed west into the Strait of Georgia, make a 180 degree turn, then head east into Vancouver airport.

YVR is the key Canadian airport of entry for Asian passengers. A lot of Asian carriers only fly to Vancouver, such as the Chinese and Taiwanese carriers.

Yeah, your pics looks almost 3 dimensional, especially those with clouds.

I always wondered about this. It seems that when I am at the airport, everybody (but me) is on the way to asia.

No, I still used my Ricoh Caplio for these photos. The quality is probably due to the good weather.

Does anyone have decent pictures of Abbottsford's terminal building close up? Thats one of the major airports I've never got anywhere near. Still its great for those people that live in the valley and of course its growing big time. Too far for those in Vancouver without a car though.

The airports website doesn't really show much in the way of photos. They're starting charters to London from there this summer.

Chris a la Montreal. Don't be such a size queen! Lord I could just see you arriving at Edmonton Int'l going - its sooooo small with little hub prospects. Can I get that terminal ... like super-sized now.

Just kidding! I'm probably being unfair since you did think Abbotsford Int'l was Pitt Meadows. Wow now thats a big terminal. Lord it make Victoria look like Pearson. Non stops to Europe from Pitt Meadows? Humm one day maybe but I doubt in my lifetime. Maybe when Kitchener gets non stops to Christchurch. LOL

Anyway, you'll be shocked to learn Abbotsford is actually growing and new routes are being added all the time. While its not one of Canada's top three airports by any means, The Fraser Valley has great potential. Greater Vancouver is growing, especially up valley. Don't be shocked if makes the top ten. And yes, the top ten in Canada is pretty major. Especially when your comparing the mighty Pitt Meadows.
