Beijing based studio, WAI architecture has designed 'Escuela de Balompié de San Juan', a football school and training center in San Juan. The multi-purpose facility aims to create a space that improves the conditions of public education and sports development in Puerto Rico. Intended as a paradigm of civic enterprise, education and high-level training, the building is accessible to, and merges, students and athletes from the surrounding community.

Using the archetypical principle of 'anima sana in corpore sano'
(sound mind in a sound body) as its ethos, the school integrates four main
areas of activity - study, practice, rest and recreation - into a series of
continuous spaces.

Structured around a private garden, the facility features four intersecting
wings, each housing a different program. Classrooms on the third floor branch off of the lobby to extend over the
bleachers, providing shelter from the elements during games. The dormitory wing containing 28 rooms and a cafeteria, breaks away from the u-shaped plan, projected as a slender volume that overlooks the football field.

A contrasting plane transversely divides the structure, proving access to
functions on the third floor from the playing field. Benches are carved into
the side of the ramp, giving it dual purpose and replicating forms that exist
within the main building.

Tremendas facilidades en que parte de san juan estarán?

realmente no se :/ se que en un site decia el lugar,pero no lo consigo. no se cuan probable es que lo hagan, pues es una prouestas de WAI (que son un gigante de arquitectura a nivel mundial). tener un lugar como este, propuesto por WAI, UUFFF, seria tremendo honor!

Me parece tremenda idea, asi se fomenta la educacion y el deporte. Esto es algo que deberian hacer en muchos municipios, creo que se podrian hacer hasta en APP's, no solamente de soccer, tambien de pelota,basket y football (americano).

Tremendo diseño. Ojala y lo construyan y mas aun tomando en cuenta el crecimiento gigante que ha tenido el futbol en Puerto Rico.

Intru, por lo que se ve en el render, la cancha es del verdadero size...gigantesca.

En que parte de San Juan se podria hacer una escuela de soccer con varias canchas de ese size?

Es que no hace sentido yo e visto como corren escuelas de futbol y necesitan mas de una chancha es imposible ser una escuela deportiva con una sola cancha, sin importar que deporte juegues. Una escuela de tres piso tendra sobre 100 estudiantes no creen? Es imposible tener tantos estudiantes y una sola cancha no dura ni una semana sin decir conflicto de tiempo, donde esta el gimnasio las canchas indoor, chanchas juveniles? Si bayamon pudo hacer tres canchas de tamaño FIFA en San Juan hay un monton de espacio para eso.
