thanks for that Londonb, the site has been empty for years just large Ballymore logos on all the hoardings - about 6 weeks ago I think the diggers moved in and they are currently piling, didn't realise it was 88m tall - if Ballymore are restarting developments fingers crossed for Baltimore Wharf.
Its a slightly dead area on that part of Wapping Lane, directly opposite Tobacco dock which dosn't seem to see much life.

Yet another awful, overbearing, plasticy block with no redeeming features whatsoever...

66m would make more sense, considering it's 19 floors and residential (so floor-to-ceiling heights of around 3m or so).

Hopefully this will be a catalyst for the regeneration of Tobacco Docks. I've not heard anything on that for a while.

I'd feel sorry for the residents of the lower levels north block of this development. Lovely view from their balconies of an appalling monolithic multi storey car park! Hopefully the car park will go next . . .

It is very good. I imagine it would be built to a much higher density if done today, more along the lines of Limehouse Basin.

This is where Del Boy and Rodney find Uncle Albert in that episode of Only Fools and Horses where Albert 'runs away from home'.

I don't think Albert could return home now, even if he were still alive as the London tower block made famous as Nelson Mandela House in 'Only Fools and Horses' has recently been demolished.

Harlech Tower in Park Road East, which fans of the show know better as Nelson Mandela House has now been demolished along with the rest of the South Acton Estate where it was set.

The estate is regarded as one of the worst in London and is a location for film and TV producers seeking urban grit. It will be seen next in cinemas in Graham Greene's Brighton Rock, starring Helen Mirren and Pete Postlethwaite. The BBC has returned to film a prequel to Only Fools And Horses - set in 1960 and featuring Del at 16 - which will be screened next year. Scenes from Welcome To Sarajevo, The Bill, Minder and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries have also been shot there. But for residents, life has been marred by crime, drugs and gangs. The estate has been the scene of fatal stabbings and shootings.

Has anyone got any pictures of the interiors of the flats?

I was planning to update this actually, no pictures of the flats that I've seen but a quick google around property websites or the official website should show you lots. JFGI etc... That said the social housing section was completed last year and is already fully occupied.

The main tower construction started in December and the Concrete core looks like it is being slipformed... just reached 5th floor level.
