Otsu

Here are some very rare views of the city of Ostu I took earlier this evening.

For those of you who dont know.Otsu is the capital city of Shiga Prefecture.Home to Japans largest lake.The whole prefecture is covered by lake and surrounded by moutains.

These pictures were taken while parking on the shoulder on the expressway.I just had to stop.The sun was setting and you dont get to view such a rarely seen Japanese city from such a great angle.

The city of Ostu.Big for a prefecture capital.About 800,000 live in the city and the lakeside suburbs.Only 10mins to Kyoto over the moutain and 35mins to Osaka.Most people who live here commute to these cities for work.

Certainly it was not the best day for pictures. Anyway we can see the Otsu Prince Hotel, 135 m if my memory is still fit :P
