well UC naman talaga yan na stop lang and last november lang nakipag coordinate ang owner sa office namin and decided to really consult a professional on architectural field. we are now finalizing the details.

san ang location nito sir? so after na pala ma finalize ang details nito, resume na ang construction?

its not possible for ever hotel anymore since the structural design for this building was already done before ever reaching our office.. so we had to adjust our architectural design based on their existing structural design. and that gave us a very big headache:bash:

pile driving = hammering down the pile with the use of the pile driver.

I hope then that this will become a good precedence/example to all upcoming developers in the pueblo area. IMHO projects should be built around the concepts of (aside from the basic engineering and architectural) pedestrian and vehicle traffic, most especially that this time around that the city government is exerting much effort to deliberately maintain the pueblo area as "walk in city". Which means (according to my interpretation) that foot/pedestrian traffic is the norm and vehicles of any kind should be kept out of sight at least along the road right of way. Which I think further is in less congruence with the current trend of modernity of individual's owning a car. And this seemingly conflicting developments should give rise to the norm of multi-level (below and above ground) parking spaces. ^^^^

The construction site gate was open this morning and I saw a lady and several other people at the site. They were, I think, inspecting something. I also saw construction activities from the entrance of the site but I wasn't able to make out what the activities were exactly. :)

you must understand that the owner and builder of this hotel is the top government contractor in the city. so kung may other projects na maaward sa kanila syempre dun muna mga resources nila. :) slowly but surely etong project na to.

i like how the progress is spread througout mindanao. davao, cdo, zamboanga, gensan, etc. sa luzon kay more on manila man jud ang development, sa visayas kay more on cebu. but in mindanao, sabay2x nagaprogress ang mga cities.

like i said before, this was supposed to be an 11 storey hotel.. but they lack the parking space to accommodate the would be users kaya ni reduce ng city hall to 6 floors only.. that was before they approached our office to do the design after they realized that engineers really have a hard time doing space planning and organization and thus required "professional help from architects" ( as said by the owner).. kaya ganyan kalaki ang ang mga columns nila..

At least there still remains that possibility that if ever they'll be able to purchase any of the lots near the hotel and convert it into a carpark *fingers crossed*, then they would still be able to expand vertically. :cheers:

My friend was one of the former Architects who designed this project, during his his time, the project was supposedly 8 stories. maybe you've heard of Arch. Rey dela Cruz. he was also with Everlast construction. dami na palang architect ang dumaan sa project na to. :popcorn:

very nice updates! a very close friend of mine and former office mate (climax29) was one of the designers of this hotel under VTG Architects who also designed Mallberry Suites of CDO and the project manager for Hotel Elizabeth Cebu. too bad his account (climax29) was hacked somehow. cant wait to design my own hotel too someday. B.T.T. i see changes in the design specially in the suite rooms.
