And welcome to SSC! Pangu September 15th, 2004, 03:51 PM Brings back memories of when I was in Beijing :) Should take some pictures of the Guomao area :) Ŝróndeimr September 15th, 2004, 03:56 PM Indeed some beautiful images from Beijing, and welcome to ssc akdkek1221:) searching September 15th, 2004, 10:51 PM One-day travel along 2th Ring Road! Good pictures! zergcerebrates September 16th, 2004, 11:07 PM I love the buildings in Beijing, big and medium sized height, not everything has to be skyscrapers. zergcerebrates September 19th, 2004, 11:44 AM Can somebody find these pics again, its all "x" I want to save some of them. Vertigo October 20th, 2004, 08:42 PM Hi all, I recently visited China on a Transsiberian train journey (Netherlands - Russia - Mongolia - China - North Korea - China). I place all pics in the world section of the forum, but I though it would be nice to place the Beijing pics also in this section. I hope you like them...! After visiting Mongolia we spent a couple of days in Beijing. In one word: GREAT! Those Asian cities are terrific. Huge main roads with loads of modern buildings long them, and what a crowds in the shopping streets! In the Netherlands urban planners always talk about how to get a city lively... they should take a look at some of these Chinese cities. The best thing of Beijing in my opinion, are the hutongs (traditional areas). Loads and loads of narrow, winding streets, filled with an enourmous amount of small eateries and shops. All the streets are crowded with people and traders until late at night. Great food too, for only a couple of euros. You gotta know how to eat with chopsticks though... ;) I heard the hutongs are disappearing at a fast pace, to make place for modern developments. I sure hope some will remain, because that's really where the heart of Beijing is! 1. Modern Beijing http://www.xs4all.nl/~davidee/Vertigo/BEIJ01.jpg 2. http://www.xs4all.nl/~davidee/Vertigo/BEIJ02.jpg 3. Vertigo October 20th, 2004, 09:04 PM Now some pics of the monuments in the heart of Beijing. The central point of the city is of course the gigantic Tiananmen Square, about a kilometer from north to south. We arrived in China on 1 october, which was National Day. This meant that it was very busy in the city. We went to Tiananmen Square that evening, and it was really really crowded with lots of people... Some people found it special to see a foreigner and asked us to pose on one of their pictures. I suppose those people come from rural China, because inhabitants of Beijing will clearly be used to seeing foreigners...Anyway, it was a very special and good atmosphere that night. Later we visited the Forbidden City, a huge terrain with the palaces of the former emperors. It's very impressive, although crowded with tourists. North and east of the Forbidden Cities are some nice parks. One of those has a great (though crowded) viewpoint over the Forbidden City. The other one has a lake where you can rent boats... a nice thing to do for a while. 18. A gate in the former city walls, south of Tiananment Square. http://www.xs4all.nl/~davidee/Vertigo/BEIJ18.jpg 19. The gate on the northern side of the square, leading to the Forbidden Cityhttp://www.xs4all.nl/~davidee/Vertigo/BEIJ19.jpg 20. Again the south side of the square. On the right side of the picture is a former railway station; now it's a shopping mall. http://www.xs4all.nl/~davidee/Vertigo/BEIJ20.jpg 21. Facial October 21st, 2004, 11:31 AM Great pics. hkskyline June 13th, 2005, 04:27 AM Beijing risks being Olympic loser Richard Spencer, Daily Telegraph June 13, 2005 http://www.thestandard.com.hk/stdn/std/China/images/national0613.jpg The 'Blue Cube' swimming center, left, and 'Bird's Nest' stadium, shown in an artist's rendition, have raised controversy. AFP The Ming Dynasty had the Forbidden City, and Mao Zedong had Tiananmen Square. Now China's present-day emperors too are constructing a new Beijing in their own image. Throughout the city, stunning buildings are breaking ground in time for the 2008 Olympics, the symbolic moment, the country believes, when it will resume its place among the world's great powers. The "Duck Egg" - the new national theater - is almost complete. The "Bird's Nest," as the Olympic stadium has been called for its steel lattice-work, and the "Blue Cube," the swimming pool complex, are rising. Elsewhere ever grander state buildings are materializing as they are stripped of their scaffolding. But just at the moment of glory, the new designs by celebrated architects from Europe and Australia have set off a major controversy. Public figures are criticizing the billions of yuan being spent, while leading members of the architectural establishment have added their own complaint: there is nothing at all Chinese about them. Long before Beijing was awarded the Games, it was clear that for the party leadership they were a chance to clear the stain of the Tiananmen Square massacre, and to reassure itself that it was now a "grown-up" country. No expense was to be spared: perhaps 40 billion (HK$568 billion) is to be spent creating a new city. Leaving aside the venues themselves, there will be four new subway lines, an airport - designed by Norman Foster to be the largest in the world - and a new financial district. That is on top of the encouragement given to private developers to raze old neighborhoods and replace them with apartment blocks. More than 300,000 people will be relocated. The first indication that there was a problem with this vision, essentially the work of former president Jiang Zemin, came when work ceased on the new tower for China television. Budgeted at 400 million, and designed by Dutch avant-garde architect Rem Koolhaas, it resembles two upside-down Ls leaning against each other like a pair of drunks. It emerged that incoming Premier Wen Jiabao, a man whose reputation was built on being down to earth and concerned for the poor, had called for a review. Eventually it was deemed too late to stop. But in the meantime the national theater building was also under fire. Its controversial dome was the work of Paul Andreu, the Frenchman whose terminal building at Charles de Gaulle airport suffered a fatal collapse in May last year. Proposals for the Olympic village had so far been immune from criticism. Indeed, China took pride from jokes in spring 2004 that its Olympics would be ready before the Athens ones. But then even the International Olympic Committee began to get cold feet, and suggested that the city moderate its pace. Work on the Swiss-designed "Bird's Nest" stopped while its exorbitant use of steel - 160,000 tons, or 22 Eiffel Towers - was cut, by deciding not to go ahead with the sliding roof. The rebuilding is now on track again. But while many residents are resigned to the destruction of what remains of the Ming city, in return for modern conveniences, some establishment voices have begun to raise their voices. In a speech this month, Wu Liangyong, a professor at Qinghua University, said the city was an "experimenting ground for foreign architects." "These buildings will be a scar left on the face of time, which will record our pains forever," he said. "Once the land is used and this unreasonable urbanization spread, it is irreversible." In contrast to the early days of the Olympics, state media have allowed a debate, with even the People's Daily publishing attacks on the loss of the city's character. Even some of the defenders have pointed out that China, despite its Olympic-sized ambitions, was still too underdeveloped to have the expertise to design world-class buildings. Some issues, however, are still too sensitive. Few newspapers or architects mention the grand boulevard intended to connect the Olympic village to the city's historic center. It is being designed by Albert Speer, a well-respected architect but also the son and namesake of the man who built Nazi Berlin, including a similar boulevard for the 1936 Olympics. Comparison of Beijing 2008 and "Hitler's Games" are a step too far in modern China. amasveritas September 25th, 2005, 06:55 AM WOW! i had always wondered how beijing looks like! i always saw Shanghai pics......but..wow...china seems amazing.. btw... im sorry if i had offended anyone in the chinese forum.. the reason is i always had a different perspective of china, i saw it as an evil communist country...but i was wrong...i see things are changing... i want to visit!! *Wall of China *Beijing *Shanghai Pangu September 25th, 2005, 07:53 AM ...i saw it as an evil communist country "Evil communist country"? If you truly believed that then I believe it's safe to assume you are 1.) naive and 2.) stereotypical. The reason that you're naive is because you assumed that a country of 5,000 years of history and a current population of 1.3 billion to be nothing but "evil". If you've taken even a single sociology class you'd realize that there is no such thing as an "evil country", only governments who are willing to sacrifice its people's freedom and happiness in order to achieve its interests. Of course, all governments do that to some extend (including the U.S.) though some do it more than others and some do it more at different times. A good example would be the post-911 U.S. is much less "free". As for being stereotypical, it should be pretty obvious as you, again, assumed that a country of 1.3 billion people are all "evil" and "communists". In any case, no one is perfect and we all have our flaws. I am in no way attempting to offend you, not that any mature, rational adult could be easily insulted from being criticized by an anonymous individual over the Internet. I am merely pointing out what you may need to learn in order to survive in the real world as you seem to come off as a pretty young individual, perhaps a early teenager. Sinjin P. I don't think he needs you to hold his hands. If he can't take a little criticism on an individual-level, he shouldn't be dishing them out on a national-level. I am not from Beijing nor mainland China, I could care less whether he says good or bad things about Beijing. --- Oh, and there is no need to resort to immature cursing. Monkey September 25th, 2005, 08:42 AM ^ But why are you dishing out criticism in the first place? It's completely unneccessary and frankly aggressive. The tone of his post is mainly "wow - I'm impressed" but you go and pick up on one throwaway phrase and have a rant about it making all kinds of unjustified assumptions about what kind of a person he is. I mean did you come up with all of that stuff just based on this one post here or are you responding to things he has posted elsewhere as well? I hope for your sake it's the latter because as it stands your post says more negative things about you than him. And there's nothing immature about using the word "fuck" - what's immature is having inhibitions about the word. I mean who are we trying to impress here with our clean language? Mummy? Grandma?? And you say he doesn't need me to hold his hand - maybe so - but then I don't think he needs you to give him such a patronising and insulting lecture either. amasveritas September 25th, 2005, 04:28 PM i am a teenager..im 17....but i was being stereotypical...sorry.. z0rg September 25th, 2005, 04:47 PM http://img5.picsplace.to/img5/5/014E8C35.jpg The middle building with a red roof looks so stylish! I love Bejing low rise modern buildings, they use to be so wide, and very Chinese looking. I think that Beijing is preserving the national identity in its modern architecture better than any other Chinese city while there are also being built many other unique and brave design buildings. A lot of personality! The modern face of this city is amazing but quite underrated though... There is no such thing as "absolute evil", but evil does exist, an attribution that may vary according to different social norms. For example, to people who value self-determination, freedom, democracy and basic human rights like myself, China, North Korea and the Roh administration are evil. However, to people who place more emphasis on social stability and unity, China can be a model example. Also, many people may use the term "country" to refer to the government that governs it, not its people. didu September 26th, 2005, 12:25 PM Also, many people may use the term "country" to refer to the government that governs it, not its people. WordNet definition for the word "country": 1. (276) country, state, land -- (the territory occupied by a nation; "he returned to the land of his birth"; "he visited several European countries") 2. Yes, countries can refer to the people who are governed by the respective political unit, but knowledgeable individuals should be able to dicern between the various meanings by context. For example, JC here said China is an evil, communist country. Unless ones assumes that JC is an ultra-racist who believes China is infested with crime-loving "evil" communists, I believe it is common sense that the attributions of "evil" and "communist" are directed towards the political organization called CCP, not the people, especially for a country where the form of political organization is not determined by the those ruled. This kind of use for the term can lead to misunderstandings, but this is not some court of law where they bitch eachother on the specific meanings of words. I think we should be open to the possibility that people can use the same term for different meanings. didu September 26th, 2005, 02:17 PM For example, JC here said China is an evil, communist country. Evil does exist, and yes, I took classes in Introduction to Sociology, Classical Sociology, Sociological Perspectives on Religion, and my major is Criminal Justice, dealing with all things evil. A sociological perspective that rejects anything "evil" is called the Radical/Conflict Theory(crime is a conflict between the haves and have nots), because it is literally a radical perspective that's not accepted by most people. 2. JC's comment on "evil communist country" has more defining charateristics of a government than its people. If I said North Korea is an "evil communist country", would anyone interpret that as an attack against the North Korean people? If someone said South Korea is an evil dictatoral country, would I see it as a racist disparage on the South Korean people? No. I would find such comments attributable to the South Korean government, not the people. When I make my defence on such comments, I will be defending the former regime that held power in South Korea, not the people who were oppressed by it. I do understand Pangu's point that we have to clearly express ourselves to avoid misinterpretations, but what I would like to say is that this is no court of law or an academic discussion where concepts have to be made clear to make one's point. The context of her speech was casual in nature, and we should just take her meaning casually, interpreting it in the most casual sense. It's true that JC was very ignorant of China's current political status, but she did admit that her perspective on China has changed. It is my personal opinion that Pangu was distorting JC's true intetions when he made JC's comments into a racist attack against the Chinese people, when it is best interpreted as an attack on the poliitcal organization of China. In general, people who study criminal justice have to believe that "evil" exists because otherwise they won't have anything to do. Criminal Justice doesn't necessarily thrive on the existance of evil. Criminal Justice thrives on the existance of control and social order, and yes my perspective that people are innately(the condition when no restraints exist. i.e. god mode and noclip in the real world) selfish and "evil" can be somewhat subjective, because all my convictions on social problems are fundamentally based on that "assumption" of human nature. Without it, my perspectives on this world will be completely undermined, and to reconstruct my perspectives is a process that I don't want to go through :) There's a term for this, it's called cognitive dissonance. Although I am not from mainland China but I still consider myself Chinese. So pardon me if I am reluctant to excuse someone from calling China an "evil communist country". Well, I don't really think you did something morally wrong. I just think it could've been put in a better way. Anyways, this has been way overblown from its original intent. I was just saying that she didn't necessarily mean the Chinese people when she said "evil communist country", and that's all I meant. Didu has a real talent of starting debates :) Not that it's bad or anything, but I sometimes find that tiresome. khoojyh September 26th, 2005, 08:30 PM wow..... Beijing skyline are great and amazing!!! amasveritas September 27th, 2005, 01:48 AM I don't know about other people, but as soon as I saw JC's comments, I thought that she was an ultra-racist who hated China to her guts and she really believed all the bad things she said about China. Remember that practically everyone you meet on an internet forum is a stranger, so you have to make your judgement based on what they say, and if some one comes out with comments that you would expect from an ultra-racist who hates China, then you'd regard him/her as an ultra-racist who hates China. If you don't say what you mean, then you are not telling the truth; if you don't know how to express yourself, you'd have to let people know about it too. If you assume, you make an ass out of you and me. squeeze me? im a he btw, im not racist, i just made igonorant statements about things i dont know...ok?? ps when i mean country i mean government but not people..people are different... I just added the korean letters and the avatar... the korean letters is a message to my bf Pangu September 27th, 2005, 03:28 AM cydevil, jcarrera2005 is a girl, or so she claims... didu September 27th, 2005, 05:19 AM I criticized Pangu's post on two points: Why did you quote my comments then? You are still over-generalising from your own experience. Let me try to make you understand: the meaning of the word "country" does not include "government", therefore, when you call a country "evil communist country", you are effectively calling every one in that country an "evil communist". If you want to criticize the government, then use the word "government". I don't think it's alright to assume that people will automatically understand what you mean, no matter how you say it. The head word for the phrase "evil communist country" is "country", so, when you bash a "country", you offend all the people from that country. I do understand Pangu's point that we have to clearly express ourselves to avoid misinterpretations, but what I would like to say is that this is no court of law or an academic discussion where concepts have to be made clear to make one's point. But that does not mean you can say whatever you want and expect other people to totally understand you. The context of her speech was casual in nature, and we should just take her meaning casually, interpreting it in the most casual sense. Sometimes people carry out serious debate on the internet and quite often people start ugly fights on the internet. It's your freedom to take her meaning in whatever way you want, but you shouldn't have a problem when other people don't. As I said before, everyone you meet on the internet is a stranger, so no one knows in advance what kind of people they are communicating with. amasveritas September 27th, 2005, 10:33 PM hhahahahah... well i like boys every now and then amasveritas September 27th, 2005, 10:35 PM maybe if u guys read my profile or go to myspace you'll see im a boy www.myspace.com/mundogeo btw, i never said i was a girl! u guys just assumed.. Too bad Beijing doesn't have that grand or imposing of a skyline. wwwcom, you should add more pictures and possibly make threads for other cities too. Beijing has a height restriction on the areas near Tiananmen. Cannot be taller than the great hall of the people I believe. And plus, it's a trend in most capital cities. Busting sky scrapers are for financial centers. Too effecient for politicians. Government offices and those srrounding are grander (in terms of foundation size), but shorter and much more impressive in design. Take all capitals, Washington DC, Paris, Ottawa, Soul. Tokyo is the only exception, but that's another story for another day. Pangu March 27th, 2006, 04:11 PM Actually in terms of skyscrapers, Tokyo still doesn't compare to other financial centers such as Shanghai, Chicago, Hong Kong, New York... etc. Also, Beijing's Guomao disctrict is starting to have more and more skyscrapers. Sometimes they intentionally do this because China is a communist country. gaoanyu June 28th, 2006, 03:38 PM My dear Chinese friends, I really can't see what is setting u guys up here. In my eyes the pictures are only presenting the charming street life of 老北京 and in no way meant to shed any bad light on neither the city nor their people. Even the short descriptions under the pics don't say one bad word at all but instead indicate how much those simple people actually enjoy their life. U wonder why they are only showing pics of old Beijing's neighbourhoods? Well, u shouldn't forget that modern areas like Wangfujing and the likes aren't as interesting for westerners as they are hardly different from urban surroundings in western cities. Anyway, what's so bad about westerners finding traditional chinese lifestyle fascinating? I think u got a little oversensitive here and see attacks and insults where there are in fact only interest and curiousity... Regards, Martin I agree. But they do tend to show more of the negative aspects than the positive ones though, just maybe not 100% true in this series of pictures. didu June 28th, 2006, 04:23 PM I actually really like these pictures, it brings back so many of my good childhood memories. :D muchbetter June 28th, 2006, 04:41 PM I didn't see these pictures show negative parts. The photographer took China-characteristic photo shot in each corner and those comments are quite based on the fact and on the countrary, are positive indeed. duskdawn June 28th, 2006, 09:06 PM I like these pictures too. Very natural and it seems people enjoy their lives in the city. Sen June 28th, 2006, 11:49 PM yeah i really enjoyed those pictures,, this kind of life style is fastly disappearing though. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/06/programmes_beijing_street_life/html/7.stm i esp. like this picture.. you can see both frustration and hope for a better life... Cindy June 29th, 2006, 05:04 AM Sen, I like ur pics which show in ur message. I like BeiJing, and I am proud of BeiJing. Modernization June 29th, 2006, 05:31 AM ^^That wasn't his!! It came from BBC news~~~ DasAutoKerl June 30th, 2006, 07:13 AM I've been in Beijing for two months now and even the slums aren't quite as bad as some people make them out to be. For example, I went around near the Bell Tower the other day. Some might call the nearby areas slums, but they have running water, decent restrooms, etc. duskdawn June 30th, 2006, 09:54 PM For example, I went around near the Bell Tower the other day. Some might call the nearby areas slums, but they have running water, decent restrooms, etc. Oh, I like that area. I used to take bus every week going home from PKU. Pangu June 30th, 2006, 10:11 PM I personally don't find the above images too offensive as I've seen much worse from anti-China propaganda... In any case, the above pictures are no different than say a Chinese photogopher taking pictures of poor areas of American city and calling it "The Charm of America"... Sen July 1st, 2006, 12:48 AM Oh, I like that area. I used to take bus every week going home from PKU. bell tower is not near PKU :weirdo: duskdawn July 1st, 2006, 01:30 AM bell tower is not near PKU :weirdo: It is near my home :sleepy: Actually not very close, but the bus passes by the bell tower. It took 2 hours for the whole trip. SimFox July 1st, 2006, 02:17 AM Well As a certified Friend of China I must say that there is such a thing as attempts by some western Media to show China in a negative way, or to be precise to find "what is wrong with China" but this pictures aren't part of that circus! These ARE really charming and warm pictures showing something what many people in the West have completely lost but still remember of - sense of community life beyond just self. warmth and mutual attention and help. I guess some Chinese could find them not too much to they liking cause they see "slum", but trust me only "redneck" in Europe and elsewhere would see slum, or those who are in slums themselves, and there are slums in Europe, just take a few Blocks from gleaming building of EU parliament in Brussels!! And those slums of Europe are much worse in a way, cause real despair is living there. At least people in hutong in China see this rapid improvement and know that tomorrow will be better then today, while majority of people in Europe living in constant fear that tomorrow will be worse then today. And that makes HUGE difference! And is one reason for all that China bashing! Instead of old men playing cards you would have bitter lonely old people largely abandoned by they children sitting in they nice apartments, dying there and being discovered people in Western Europe have been grow to rely mostly on state or society and not family. Doing so you create somewhat passive and manageable society which when feed enough would think of revolution and wouldnt be able to organize one. And everything worked well till the moment when demographics make this system bankrupt and god know what shall follow. But back to those pictures... in a way it is sad that this way of life is disappearing, but I totally understand that people deserve better conditions of life, still would be nice if authorities would find means to preserve at least some of those traditional neighborhoods (modernizing infrastructure and providing all modern amenities of course) that some sunny and warm afternoon it would be possible to wonder into those small streets and still see those old men playing cards! :cheers1: virarch July 2nd, 2006, 10:19 PM Beijing is definitely one of the worst cities in the world. And it's not just because of its ugly new highrises, but its rude, uncivilized local residents as well. This is also a reason why she got an idiot as a child. Ohno July 2nd, 2006, 11:00 PM Beijing is definitely one of the worst cities in the world. Which city luckily is on par with Beijing as the worst city in your opinion ( definitely)? And it's not just because of its ugly new highrises, but its rude, uncivilized local residents as well. The person cursing other people as rude and uncivilized without any proof isn't in decent and civilized manner. I think it will probably take China 500 years to become a civilized country like those in the West, if ever. No worries. A country with thousand-year civilization doesn't have expiry date to become uncivilized. SimFox July 3rd, 2006, 04:53 AM Guyz, why do you even bother to reply to such idiots!? don't you see they are here to provoke! Beijing Municipality borders Hebei Province to the north, west, south, and for a small section in the east, and Tianjin Municipality to the southeast. Beijing is China's second largest city in terms of population, after Shanghai. It is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways entering and leaving it in all directions. It is also the focal point of many international flights to China. Beijing is recognized as the political, educational, and cultural center of the People's Republic of China, while Shanghai and Hong Kong predominate in economic fields. The photos are crispy null March 7th, 2007, 03:02 AM Danny Chua March 7th, 2007, 02:26 PM  :hilarious Whiteeclipse March 7th, 2007, 02:50 PM Below is the bilateral in Beijing urban district combat tactical review: Chinese people republic: This Beijing defends the war is our Chinese people's victory, is our great motherland victory, separated for 50 years after the matter we once again to defeat the American-led west imperialist powers attack, the fact proved, the Chinese people were invincible, the Chinese People's Liberation Army was invincible, the people's war might was infinite, wanted us closely to unite by.. Local 2 tenth mountain division when attacks and occupies the cloud post area and enters by the cloud post area, on the road the original plan while convenient destroys the China air group third research institute, group battalion searched nearly one day in the cloud post town not to find, must not, the entire group all join the search, caused the army battle efficiency to glide down, principal force when crossed Yongding river, because the airborne troops has not been able on time to transport to the pontoon bridge army, did not have to pause for 7 hours in this, arrived after the pontoon bridge army only then discovered Yongding river simply did not have the water. When a group to leaves only then knew they have fully transferred in astronautics three courtyards yards four days. 3 our army's ground warfare three heavy tanks after break through 26 armed forces positions high speed to penetrate Beijing from Badaling, meets in five ring circuits and Badaling high speed 交界处 堵车. 15 hours front have not gone a step further, are routed by 26 armed forces reinforcing unit. 4 old villages 101 teachers 1 group paratroopers choose on the plot gauge chart green, the office, the swimming pool, the lake descend, after fall to the ground discovered that, They all fall in the roof, because because the developer arbitrarily changes the plan, originally pledged green the office swimming pool lake all to get up the building, sold a money, parachuted when the landing casualty innumerable. This is a responsibility which cannot be shirked. For instance the fourth 重装 teacher projects on Beijing from a Tianjin group, plans along the Beijing circuit, founds a nation the road, Chang'an Street kills rushes Zhongnanhai, however on the road the innumerable flaws well lid lets the automobile be difficult, even has the phenomenon appearance which continuously well Ge Qunjiang the tank will catch, will only save the tank unit will pass the fast road along famous Beijing to dash about wildly, arrives four will collect when has been jolted 散了架, is already waited for many time to receive the worn out furniture animal-drawn cart 民兵师 to close in on completely receives the worn out station. 9 attacks the airport 91 teachers after seize the airport along the airport high-speed approach urban district, in four Yuan bridges is because the bridge quality is not high, the tank is unable to pass, have to gives up the tank march with light packs. To lets 36 red candles and several hours 堵车 in three Yuan bridge floors which the person is completely muddled, is exposed to the sun by the sun suffered heat-stroke, the soldiers look for the saliva to drink in abundance, the large quantities of servicemen because of drink but the mouth spit the foam four limbs convulsion with the ground water not to be able to control oneself take up the gun randomly to shoot. 10 our army mechanized force enters a city simply is a disaster, on a road has 大大小小 several charges station to have to make a payment, moreover according to the tonnage payment, similarly is Tank, Chinese PLA at least little has handed over a half money compared to them, moreover, including looks up the road maintenance cost also everywhere to set up sentries, entered a city is fined by the traffic police, also the charge personnel quality is low, cannot distinguish clearly US dollar to be equal to the Renminbi, no matter any money all wants the similar numeral, our army mechanized units ktroopsk thoroughly does not dare to enter a city (early knew should lead Japanese to come). 113 links majority of road surfaces cannot walk the heavy card, all road surfaces cannot the tank, after arrive three links all operating personnel to change the infantry, 38 armed forces which waits at ease for an exhausted enemy are wiped out. 12 my 43 air assault divisions wrap the accurate information: The day passes the garden road ground to be open may take the landing area, before dawn an our army implements the launching mileage which the surprise attack as soon as jumps down falls digs up. Afterwards knew that, The Beijing municipal engineering department excavates in five years ago rebuilds the day to pass the garden road sewer project all not to have the towering labor to the present, the work site which in the Beijing urban district everywhere excavates lets the mechanized force be difficult. 13 only 11 kill to two links is a we heroic dauntless navy ground warfare teacher, they by reason of the quality which stood up to the most rigorous test overcome 万难 go forward to two ring circuits, on the result not careful Hsi chih men bridge, again has not been able to find down road. 14 seventh touches a step of travel from Tangku along Beijing and Tianjin pond high-speed approach to alight after the minute bridge temple only then felt the nightmare only then just arrived, all equipments were unable to drive a minute bridge. The attempt turns around looks in addition gets down from the bridge the method army to discover the all street intersections all insufficient width, or has other bridge to block the way. When they got down from the bridge only then discovered they already turned back Tangku. 15 safely lands in Babaoshan's seal army along the Shijing Hill road, revives the road secret to dive into, the result encounters the stubborn resistance nearby 公主坟 the bridge, machine 炮轰 in a complete mess wild wolf commander to curse angrily "how by six old style naval guns and the full wall links the navy headquarters and air force headquarters this kind of place all does not have the sign on the map". People's war aspect: Beijing people and various functions unit positively enter a war are the main reasons which our army is defeated. 1. Our army pretends the Central Committee Television evening seven news broadcasts, attempts to let them believe they already defeated, however worked just the opposite, they battled the confidence strengthened. Starts us to think is our picture has the flaw, afterwards a person of Chinese descent only then told me, the news broadcast also could some people look? Preposterous! Another person of Chinese descent said that, The news broadcast thing also can believe? Preposterous! 2. The disability boosted the motorcycle 民兵师 and the electrically operated bicycle 民兵师 plays the vital role in the fight, these man-machine mobilities extremely high, the operational skill was extremely skilled, could in any road surface, any opportunity appear to our personnel creates killing. The large quantities of our army officers and soldiers are suddenly run out from the quoin the vehicles which suddenly vanishes to damage 撞死 hit silly hit fly hit the success and failure to go the battle efficiency life not to be able to take care of oneself. 3. CIA'S agents once dived into by the foreign student status in prewar three days the Beijing Haidian greatly to transport the village, hoped took temporary nest the Beijing A license plate motorized 民兵师 military strength arrangement situation report headquarters, who knew use day great wild goose real estate business, the swallow bridge property declared XXM wide band 10 essential altogether only then 5M deployed troops for defense the chart picture to send 4 day not to send, the fight finished, the resident which joyfully celebrated the victory is informed had been lucky real estate business and the network supplier's brilliant contribution, the city has only then avoided a bigger loss. The intelligence personnel annoyingly said that, If is not Beijing's plot wide band, we should be able at the Tiananmen Midautumn Festival. 4. We thought China's wealthy crowd compares fears death cannot participate in the revolt motion, afterwards discovered we, China's wealthy crowd, in particular the valuable horse vehicle owner too has been mistakenly fierce, 4 days time we have 4,112 people 撞死 by the valuable horse-drawn vehicle, entire Beijing valuable horse altogether 1,037, an average person one day 撞死. 5. Our army wants to seize in peace the inhabitant plot, is mistaken by the property company for is the new property company which the defiant person owner hires, then attacks brutally. The pitiful our army soldiers, where suffices to hit, is annihilated under that entire non- methodicalness lethality greatly strengthened east way wrestle. Urban construction property company, a character, ruthless. 6. Our army enlisted woman (medical rear service) has not throughout been able to enter four links, innumerable sells the flower the young girl can tie down to that enlisted woman recent male soldier lets him buy the flower, down to the army goes forward difficult. 7 fourth teacher participates in the army when enters the Wang Fu Jing commercial square also to meet the similar question, on to general manager, deputy general manager, gets down to the security, the sanitation engineer as if all is becomes a soldier the family background, 合就 does not begin to hit the person, also the wrestle skill is very strong, this kind of all the people all soldier's strategy lets us evade it for to fear. 8 our army advance infiltration force just entered Beijing, seized the jade Quanshan commanding point, finally because the camouflage paint put on makeup the fault, is sought the garden security to treat as enters a city sells the vegetable farmer randomly to club, the casualties were serious. When 9. street fighting, the Chinese always does not hide in the room, they rather pile the bicycle take trash as the bunker and our correlation, starts us to think they lack the basic military accomplishment, afterwards only then discovered hides is more dangerous in the room, after once some round pistol cartridge punctured half meter thick bearing wall to kill a our soldier. Also has 17 buildings of residence which is exploded by a hand grenade collapses, is stationed does not have in an inside company as soon as returns alive. This is we called it the grave, they calls it the bean waste thing. WOW very very close! I was there from the 9th Feb to the 16th. Honestly, I feel that the best time to visit Beijing is during the Chinese New year period as the city is alive with fireworks and crackers, very very lively and you'll never see this anywhere else in the world outside China! The view from the aeroplane was beyond expression. There were glitters and flashes of lights all over the city and I came to find out that they were fireworks, AMAZING!! Many shops still remained open and everyone seemed to be smiling haha!:):cheers: I hope you enjoyed the pics, will be posting many more in a day or two so stay tuned!:) oliver999 March 12th, 2008, 05:37 AM how do you feel about beijing pollution??? |
