Fat white building? But I thought it looks very slim to me from certain angles. Unfortunately I do not have any photos of it.

If I am not wrong, it is composed of 3 buildings arranged in a triangular fashion, and hence it looks rather fat?

I've seen a huge, fat white condo from Toa Payoh. Is it that?

Here it is! :cucumber:

Seen on the left.

It looks like a castle and a much nicer version of the 70s Pearl Bank apartments.

Nice shot. That's a back view & I think it looks very unusual, different from the mass look-alike condos nowadays. So... is it a Novena or Balestier location?

RafflesCity

I think its slightly nearer to Moulmein and Balestier than Novena but the sales agent will probably quote Novena MRT station as being conveniently nearby...

Kind of...
With all those abstract shapes...

Yeah. I used to see it everyday on my way to school, back when school was still at its holding site at Rangoon. Don't see it anymore now, though... I never paid much attention to it, but i guess it's kind'a hard to miss, huh?

The facade and window shapes are so engaging. I think the facade of the new Duxton flats will be like that, and so is the facade of the ugly Pearl Bank Apartments.

uh.. it looks like a monster to me.. like a ficus tree? i think duxton plain will be alot nicer... the details are smaller and finer i think

I feel that it looks complex & wierd because of the exterior blinds. Some blinds are up, some blinds are down, and some blinds are halfway-drawn. I have been to the showflat and notice that the other side of the facade doesn't have exterior blinds. Probably if you can take some photos from that angle, it will look more streamlined and contemporary. I also notice that the design is very unique because every angle looks different. If looked from the rear, you will see exposed staircase... very rare. If looked from the side, you'll notice the ultra slim profile... aka Newton gems. The photos you took are from 45 degrees angle. But I think the best angle is when you view it from the center. There's where you get to see the unique V-shaped architecture. You can view this angle from TTSH outdoor carpark, or from Moulmein Road besides 1 Moulmein Rise. I think it looks stunning & ultra modern from that angle. It will be good if you can post some pics from that angle... thanks.

Yup its interesting. The rear side probably doesnt have windows cos the view from there is not so nice and doesnt face the city skyline. Perhaps that area gets more sun too. Strata is another condo coming up that will have windows on only 1 side too.

I will try to get a snap next time I pass there, thanks for the tips

Hope to revive some comments on this project.

Anyone staying there ? How is the development getting on ?

Worth moving into ? The freebies the developers give to block the west sun - is it effective ?

Hi.. i went to view a couple of The Ansley apartment abt 2 mths ago.. So thought i can give u my 2 cents worth on my findings..

According to the agent, the property is relatively new.. less than or abt 2yrs old.. A small development and if i recall correctly, it has less than 100 units. Thus, it's rather quiet. I believe it's occupied by mostly expats and couples. The Ansley consists of 2 blks, one facing the TTSH and the other facing town direction. Every unit has its own private life.

In my opinion, if u r looking at getting a property there, u should buy the one from the blk that's facing the town direction and get sth that's abv #15. It boasts a magnificent view of CBD and town. There wont be any property rising there in the foreseeable future cause just in front of the property is a park. The govt has no plans to develop it into sth else (accordin to the owner). Thus u r more or less assured of the unblock view.

Most 3 bedroom unit is abt 1302sqft. The hall size is pretty gd and seriously it has a really excellent view.. But the rooms are kinda small though..

Facilities wise, it has a swimming pool, tennis court, gym, clubhouse, playground, small landscape garden and an even smaller basketball court (nt even half court size). Maintenance is abt $350+ i think. Forgot, so nt v sure..

Anyway, i think it's worth a buy coz it's going for like $1m to $1.2m for a high-floor apartment (#19 - #20). Units around the same area (e.g. Novena Suites) will cost u at least 200k more..

: ) Hope this helps...

imagine the wind flapping and blowing the external blinds. I think it looks like the designer was trying too hard to make it complex until it doesn't stand out anymore.

I went to see one of the unit (with the blinds) at around 4-5pm. It was so hot in the unit as the afternoon sun came right into the house, the living area and all bedrooms! I won't want to live in a place with afternoon sun as the whole apt feels like and oven. Definitely won't spend the $$ to buy the unit. Though it came with the blinds, there is no maintenance and only 1 year warranty and no replacement of blinds after one year if they wear out. Imagine the $$ one has to spent to have the blinds replaced. Who would want to roll the blinds up and down everyday?? what a chore!

Those units facing towards Orchard (west) get the DIRECT afternoon sun, which explains the floor to ceiling blinds. I cannot imagine living in one though I know some people love the sun to come in.

Went to see an Ansley studio unit before I bought Pinnacle 16 nearby. View is good even from a unit in the 'lower-half' of the building. Unfortunately it was really cramped and poorly designed so we didn't buy it. The glass balcony took a little getting used to though. My knees were shaky 1st time, but after that was fine.

The Ansley sounds like a nice name. Not some cheapo and cheesy one like Orchard View ( though the location is ultra-prime) .

cheers
