I'm planning to go this year for some fresh produce and markets. The food hall will be sweet!

I've never been to one, worth going?

If you've never been to one it's definitely worth checking out, especially if you have kids.

It depends on what interests you. If you like seeing animals - yes, looking for entertainment - yes, like seeing food and other exhbitions - yes, looking for fun - yes.

Millux - The agricultural dispays are the highlight for me. I was get a photograph of each one.

What is so bad about the show? It's a tradition.

I guess farm animals and vegetables don't appeal to skyscraper hugging gays.
If you have kids though, you MUST bring them to the easter show, I remember it being one of the most fun things I did.

If you have kids though, you MUST bring them to the easter show, I remember it being one of the most fun things I did.

I recall particular dislike for the animal dung smell or three quarters of the stuff that is put on in the main arena.

I did like woodchopping - which meant jostling for position to see tree felling - the government pavillion and the giant slide. Only one of those remain.

The animal dung smell is annoying, but you find that on farms too.

The Government Pavillion was great. As a kid they had lots of fun displays including the free model train rides by cityrail, crocodile spoons by NSW Health and more.

There is a government stall this year - Infozone as they call it. They need to revert to displays for each department. The Lotteries stand was quite a big hit too.

Farmers from South East Queensland were able to create a prize winning produce display. This was despite a lack of access to good produce to create the display.

And a stunning reversal as well from the past few years where they have finished last.

You have to commend them.

The theme for the displays was up and focused on "farmscrapers". Skyscrapers built from food.!!!:)

It is all over for this year.

The media have virtually ignored the end of the show - except for Channel 10 last night.

ABC Rural has a good article though: http://www.abc.net.au/rural/content/2011/s3201329.htm?site=sydney

I was waiting for someone to comment on the "farmscrapers". A more creative way of interpreting the highrise wonder but also show how people living in them can grow food to support themselves.
