This is the official thread for the admin and moderation of the Iraq forum.
If you have any suggestions, complaints, or just simply you like to share your thoughts, please post it in this thread. Do not post in project threads this is to keep them relevant and to the point.
Posts that are related to the administration and moderation of this forum that were posted elsewhere will be moved here over the coming days.
Cheers
sheytanElKebir April 17th, 2011, 06:46 PM you know with projects like these, I feel they are better off in a single thread called "roads" ?
IraqSpirit April 17th, 2011, 06:55 PM you know with projects like these, I feel they are better off in a single thread called "roads" ?
But its a 16 months project. isnt it big enough?
sheytanElKebir April 17th, 2011, 08:23 PM Don't get me wrong. It's a big project. But I think the forum is becoming difficult to navigate now. W should either have a sub forum with "transport infrastructure" or maybe lump all the road projects into a single thread? I am saying that because im finding it increasingly difficult to find stuff now on the forum!

I agree but I think it is best to have a sub forum for different projects than combining multiple projects in a single thread. This will significantly reduce the number of topics in the Iraq section ;)
If opening sub forums is not possible I suggest we create a table of content thread to categorise and index all projects :)
wasta April 17th, 2011, 10:08 PM i think we should have different threads for regions, example "Kurdistan", "Western Iraq", "Baghdad" and "South"

no. threads should be by TOPIC, if i want to read about "roads" there's a place i can find, if i want to find malls and hotels, there's a subforum for that etc...

I second that

i agree
BigDreamer April 18th, 2011, 08:57 AM hey guys,
restructuring the forum is no easy task, and mods don't have the privileges to create subforums only admins can (otherwise I would've already did these things for you guys without any problems !)
at the present time, admins will not agree to this. since we are no different to other forums that are using this current template.
if you are refering to the Iran forum, the reason why they have what they have today is because they were one of the first forums to be added in the Mideast section, and back then, there wasn't so much of a standard 'structure' to follow compared to now. They still struggled to get what they wanted, for example, it took them 2 YEARS to get a "chit chat section" like baghdad cafe
I actually prefer sheytan's suggestion as well, compared to organizing by location. the reason for this is that you can click the header for "thread name" and it will sort all of the threads by location in alphabatical order, (this is the reason why we put the location of a project first followed by other details). which makes browsing by city location easier because of this feature.
baghdad_sara April 18th, 2011, 10:05 AM Great idea BigDreamer, we need more organisation in this forum, all the threads are getting ruined by silly arguments :ohno:
For everyone with a problem, vent here!
BigDreamer April 18th, 2011, 10:08 AM  exactly right !
Kamaran April 18th, 2011, 01:04 PM there is a possiblity that other mods will create a sub-forum for KRG , this way all the projects will be moved there unfortunately . kurdish members here are just almost now as much as your members , we have projects related to our (Erbil) governemnt so we have a right to have our sub forum.
BigDreamer April 18th, 2011, 01:16 PM ^^ yes
Kamaran April 18th, 2011, 06:57 PM from what alan kurdi told me he said the mod on this section told him to wait and he waited for a long time and eventually got sick of it , i hope the admin will go ahead and give us the sub-forum the kurd members want they are
kamaran (me)
worldwar2boy (you)
hawraman
partya rast
kurd123
alankurdi(banned)
kurdistani
diako
kurd mede
IraqSpirit April 19th, 2011, 05:27 PM If that happenes then the admins of skyscarppercity.com should expect more requests to create subforums for cities! you can not create a subforum for a state/city and ignore the rest. If such thing must happen then logically it should be subject-based to keep things under control.
Yousifovic April 19th, 2011, 06:59 PM thats not happening lol ..

dude01 April 20th, 2011, 04:22 AM Why don't we block Kamaran also ? he's been spamming all over the threads..please block him. It's enough.
BigDreamer April 20th, 2011, 07:15 AM ^^ yes, i got lots of complaints about him.. so i sent him one last warning. if he decides to continue with trolling and harassing formers. I will give him a ban.

correct.
they don't "handout" forums to every troll who decides to spam admins with demands (as was the case here).
There is a system in place for creating new subforums for better orgnisation of this website.
In the case of the Iraq subforum (as I said many times before), we will consider how this forum will be structured when it reaches a much larger size. We will discuss it when that time comes, and everyone will get to share their opinion here. But the decision is ultimately at the hands of the admins, Mods (such as myself) can only make recommendations to them, and it's up to them to either approve or decline our suggestions.
For now, the structure that we have is sufficient, and does the job well. and it will be the case for a while to come.
Persi April 20th, 2011, 12:41 PM ^^ :blahblah:

BigDreamer April 20th, 2011, 01:04 PM One Arab guy is asking you to ban Kamaran, and Kamaran gets immediately a ban, while it took 3 days to ban MrIraq and there was a special thread about his behaviour and many people complained about him.
What's the reason for that? It was not MrIraqi's first time. It was his 4TH TIME he was acting racist towards us. But when a Kurd does one thing, he gets a ban immediately!
not true. Kamaran was tolerated for days of trolling around this forum, me and other forumers told him to stop several time (other mod, also told him off), but he continued and didn't listen.
alankurdi was tolerated for many months, we in fact received several complaints about him even before this mess was started in the last week.
MrIraq got told off once before he actually got banned. and it wasn't his fourth time as you claim. In any case. MrIraq, alan, karman, all got banned for continuing to behave innapropriatly despite warnings.
now you posted that message, (even in the wrong section, sent it to admins, and tried to troll), I still havent banned you or given you an infraction, despite the fact that you offended many people with your comments.
I will discuss with other mods what to do for your case.
in any case, mods are not suppose to justify their decision by posting publicially as I'm doing now.. in fact, It's very unconventional, I would probably be told off by other mods for doing this.
BigDreamer April 20th, 2011, 01:05 PM cus he hates u
don't joke around, this guy takes everything seriously :ohno:
BigDreamer April 20th, 2011, 01:07 PM I'm asking something and I want a answer. Why is BigDreamer acting other wise towards the Kurds? Why are we getting a ban when we have the most little mistake, but when an Arab member is doing the worst thing possible, it takes a long time till he gets a ban? And the ban wasn't even from BigDreamer, but from an other moderator. And BigDreamer: why do you want to give MrIraq another chance (he had 5) and the Kurds get immediately a ban, without a warning, and without comming back?
I want answers.
I gave everyone a chance. including you.
karman got a chance as well.. but he didnt use it.. do you want me to forward you the PM that i sent him ?
no, I ban MrIraq , it wasn't another moderator ;)
Yousifovic April 20th, 2011, 01:13 PM don't joke around, this guy takes everything seriously :ohno:

BigDreamer April 20th, 2011, 01:23 PM You don't need to answer my questions in public, you could send me a PM if you like that better. There is one last thing I want to know, and you can answer this one via PM:
- Is MrIraq comming back?
- Is Alan comming back?
- Is Kamaran comming back?
Thanks.
okay

WERE NOT TARGETING YOU OR KURDS..BUT SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS NEED TO STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW YOU GUYS WILL SPLIT FROM IRAQ AND CALL YOUR IMAGINARY LAND KURDISTAN AND BLA BLA BLA ON OUR FORUMS AND U WONT BE BANNED. AND I DO HAVE TONS OF KURDS FRIENDS AND TRUST ME THEY DON'T BEHAVE LIKE KIDS.

BigDreamer April 22nd, 2011, 11:24 AM IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL USERS
Members who have been banned recently are constantly making new accounts and trying to troll threads. If you spot a new user, who seems suspiciously familiar to banned users, Private Message me (or any other moderator) the link to their post so we can investigate their details.
This is a very common occurrence when ex-users get banned, they generally comeback with different accounts to cause problems. Our system does indeed spot these things, but it is still a manual process to avoid false positives.
Thanks everyone :)
elusive April 22nd, 2011, 05:16 PM no worries, i'll keep an eye out for intruders lol!
baghdad_sara April 22nd, 2011, 05:20 PM It shouldn't be too hard, if their first post is a nationalistic sprout then we know we have a duplicate lol
iraqishi3i April 25th, 2011, 01:26 PM who was acting racist towards Kurds
Lets be honest you out of all people cant complain about racism. Mr Iraq insults kurds and instead of insulting Mr Iraq you decide that the rest of Iraqis have to be insulted :
A few days a go the government of Kurdistan published their own money, so people know how they would look like when they decide to go split from Iraq. So it doesn't matter anymore if they write in Kurdish on the Iraqi dinar, because we'll have our own money soon.
And a little notice for all you Arab guys who are discriminating us and ban us (don't why Kamaran have a ban, I'm pretty sure he got that ban because he's a Kurd from Kirkuk).
In the project section: 32 of the 35 projects are from Kurdistan.
You can do whatever you want to act like those things are progressing in your country Iraq, but at the end of the day everyone knows:
- Those projects belongs to the Kurdish people, not the Arab people. The Arab people of Iraq won't see anything of it, because more then 75% of the Arabs who wants to enter the KRG, are rejected. Only the Kurdish people will benefit from those projects, because our government is doing things for our people. They're not spending billions so their former killers can profit of it!
I'm sure that I'm getting a ban also, but you know... I am a Kurd. From the 4 Kurdish people on this forum, 2 are allready banned (don't know about Kurd123) and I'll be number three. While when an Arab member is insulting us, shouting un us, discriminating us, it takes more then a week till he gets a ban.
Go, act towards the other users on this forum like you're ''brothers with the Kurds'' and like you ''love the Kurds'', and that we are ''one country''.
All of that is untrue and I will never see an Arab as my brother, especially after the incidents on this forum. If 9 of 10 Arabs are acting like this towards Kurds, then I'm sure all Arabs are the same.
Only Sheytan was acting normal towards Kurds, and that's why he is 1 of the 10 Arabs who isn't discriminating Kurds. In real life I've seen Arabs also, but they were not so discriminating as you guys are. They were acting normal, but that's because they were Christians (who gets more help from the KRG, then from their own government!), some of them were old men who've seen a lot and doesn't want to discriminate anymore and some of them were Kurds who were raised up in Bagdad.
Now, do what ever you want. BigDreamer is giving a ban only when he wants and he gives to especially to Kurds, because he don't like us.
---
PS:
Thanks for posting all those progress in my country Kurdistan. When our defacto STATE becomes a full state, it will be easy for us to move them. When that times comes you will have your stupid stadiums only, of which 60%will be blowed up by terrorists. :)

alshawi1234 June 8th, 2011, 02:08 AM Hello everyone I'm new member. I just want to suggest a new thread for social problems in Iraq. I think it will be a good idea to explore and Share our Ideas and propose solutions for all the social problems going on in Iraq. Things I think the threa Should focus on. > bribery and corruption, beggars on the streets, human rights abuses, people abusing their power, why young adults choose to join armed gangs, and other problems in the Iraqi society, I'm sure most of you probably have already gotten sick enough from discussing these issues, but if we share our ideas and suggest proper solutions it might turn out to a less pessimistic thread. Btw for those who don't know me, I'm an Iraqi
Residing in Canada. Im in my early stages in university. And I'm originally from Basra. :)
musiccity June 8th, 2011, 05:07 AM Welcome to the Iraqi Forum alshawi! :)
Go ahead and make the thread if you'd like, start it in the Baghdad Cafe. Though, SSC is a site who's purpose is to display the positive sides and progression of countries. I'm sure it will make a great thread as long as we post solutions and not just state the problems. :okay:

sheytanElKebir June 24th, 2011, 06:22 PM Hi mods, I see that the Iraqi sue list thread has been locked, and I didn't even have a chance to answer any of the points raised (not trolling just clarifying what the list is about etc...) is the topic of what happened to the people of Iraq over the past decades not allowed to be discussed and quantified?
Would such a thread from other countries perspectives be treated in the same manner? All I want is moral equivalency. Does the locking of the thread indicate that the people of Iraq deserve what's happened to them, whilst citizens of other countries who are victims of war, violence and terror are innocent victims?

Hi SheytanElKebir
I don't believe that you were trolling. and locking does not imply that the people of Iraq deserve 'what happens to them' in anyway ! I think you are reading too much into this.
The thread was locked mostly because of the way of the argument was turning, and after disturbing images that were posted (by non Iraq-forum regulars). The thread was locked to avoid flamewars and problems that's all (nothing to do with the subject of the thread).
Threads are locked to 'keep the peace', not to censor ideas or opinions, if our intention is to censor, then the thread would've been deleted instead.
if you feel that the thread can be pursued in a peaceful manner, I can clean the thread up and unlock it. But it's clear from the nature of the topic that it will be a troll magnet. Something we would rather avoid.
Yousifovic July 6th, 2011, 11:37 AM I'm glad that our forum became bigger ! Welcome to all the new members... Espcially Basrwi :D I always go to ur website and I loved the idea from the begining..great to mu here ..

sheytanElKebir July 31st, 2011, 01:00 PM Hi Mods.
We've had Iranians trolling the Iraqi subforum for the past few weeks and words simply aren't persuading them to move on and leave us alone. Can the mods do something about it? they are starting to ruin project threads. AFAIK no Iraqis have been trolling the Iranian subforum so a bit of reciprocity would be nice.

to be fair its only these two nimaa and souroush persepoli who are trolling. Other Iranians like shugs were instrumental in setting up our subforum!
Ali_as August 6th, 2011, 08:26 PM I want to create a thread on how Iraq should help people around the Middle East. Am I allowed to do this?
The reason I ask this question is because I have seen other threads in the past being closed because of the threat of trolls etc.

It doesn't mean because Nimaa said things that all Iranians are bad...
Shugs for example is an Iranian and he even helped you guys with starting up your Iraqi forum!
and Iran does not control anything...
well okay I will leave you guys alone, although I didn't do anything wrong, but okay, now I see what you guys ment in the Introduce yourself thread with everyone is welcome in Iraq. bye guys
BigDreamer August 8th, 2011, 12:36 AM um, i think people are taking this a little too personally. People should step away from their keyboards and take a breath for a second !
I was searching for this Nima fellow's posts just now, and he seem to have posted in only couple of threads.
although most of the people in the forum might not agree with most of his posts (including myself), he really wasn't going off topic (unless someone can provide evidence of him doing so, he really hasn't broken any forum rules from what I can see).
People can express their opinions here as long as they are relevant to the topic, and don't / attack insult people.
I don't understand why this is being turned into Iran VS Iraq issue. and I certainly disagree with yousif's post about "no Iranians allowed". We don't discriminate on nationality or ethnicity here !
sheytanElKebir August 8th, 2011, 11:36 AM hi Bigdreamer
he certainly went off topic on the Iraqi sue list.
He insults Iraqis at any opportunity.
And even when he posts on a thread (on topic) his post is simply a one line flamebait rather than a serious question or comment. and its a consistent series of trolling and flamebaiting that he does. He never actually posts anything "useful" on the Iraqi subforum at least.
And he did personally insult me several times, called me a "liar" and "I talk out of my arse" even though I never insulted him at all (as if insulting people is some sort of higher ability that I wouldn't be able to reply to in kind if I so wished). He's just a general troll. His sidekick souroush persepoli called Iraqis "cunts, leave these dog alone they will be behind Iran even in a 100 years, its god's punishment for what they did in the past" right here on the Iraqi subforum.
That is not to say that all iranian posters are bad. In fact most Iranian posters are good, and we are certainly grateful to shugs for his role in starting the forum! Just some insolent teenagers need to grow up slightly.
BigDreamer August 8th, 2011, 02:59 PM ^^
Hi Sheytan
I see..
I'll tell you what .. I'll spend sometime reading his posts over the next couple of days, and talk to shugs about it and see if that guy is trolling elsewhere as well.
I haven't seen him post in the last few days, so maybe we can all move on for now. but will certainly keep an eye from now on.

Well, I have many Iranian friends and they don't really have a problem with Iraq. They say they were born after the war. Others simply don't like to talk about it. So, I think it is time to move on in regard to our relations.
testdrive September 11th, 2011, 05:27 AM :yes:Don't get discouraged Basrawii, keep plugging away. Sometimes people have trouble seperating government positions from the everyday wants and desires of their own populations. It is easy to see why when all off us are bombarded with their own governments positions. When people sit down and just enjoy each others company where they are from becomes less and less important.
BigDreamer September 27th, 2011, 12:17 AM Hi guys,
After reading many suggestions that people have made about NOT starting a brand new thread for small completed projects, I've came up with this solution:
I've merged many small projects that are completed into the following thread (feel free to let me know if more threads should also be merged):
IRAQ | Small Completed Projects (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1444779)
From now on, if you have found a small project that is complete (eg, a cafe, tiny hotel, or minor street renovation etc), please post it in this thread instead of starting a new one.
I guess it can be subjective to decide what defines a "small project", so there will not be hard-line rules to be enforced. It's okay to start a new thread for a small project, but if many users complain that it's "too small", we would then merge it with this thread.
We'll just rely on common sense, and hope that this system will work out
Also, we'll make this thread a sticky, so it can be found easily.
sheytanElKebir September 27th, 2011, 08:20 PM thanks BigDreamer!
BigDreamer September 28th, 2011, 12:19 AM you welcome :)
IraqiPlan_et October 12th, 2011, 01:49 AM How about a section for the environment in Iraq, called "Environment in Iraq" or similar.
For posting articles about efforts in battling desertification, growing palm trees, building dams, recovering the marshes etc....these are highly imortant issues in Iraq.
What do you say? :D
BigDreamer October 12th, 2011, 03:11 AM ^^ That's a nice suggestion IraqiPlan
unfortunately at this point, I don't believe that the admins are interested in adding new subsections into subforums. (creating a new section is rather complicated on SSC, it's not one of those things that happen overnight).
but if you like, we can create a thread on the main page for "Environmental Matters" in Iraq. If this thread proves to be popular, it would give us a good reason for convincing the admins to create a subsection in the future.
IraqiPlan_et October 12th, 2011, 05:37 AM I don't why I wrote "section" I meant thread haha....so it's legit then?
BigDreamer October 12th, 2011, 09:53 AM ^^ yup sure, you can go ahead and create a thread if you find something intersting to post :)
Basrawii October 14th, 2011, 12:43 PM Hello BIG D , sup?
Can I start a thread about Iraq's journey in the Qualifiers for the Word Cup in Brazil? So that we can put news there and help our friends in putting links to broadcasting sites for the matches? fixtures, news, schedules and more stuff will be also added there.
What do u think?
BigDreamer October 14th, 2011, 03:58 PM yup sure, sounds great.
IraqiPlan_et October 14th, 2011, 09:58 PM Yea...that thread wont be a longrunner lol
BigDreamer October 17th, 2011, 01:24 AM Hey peeps.
I was wondering who would like the idea if we introduce a new thread in the construction section for Small Projects (simillar to the one in the Completed section)?
the only thing that I don't like about this idea is that it would be harder to track these projects, for example when these projects are completed, we can't update their status (and move them to the completed projects section) as they don't have their own threads?
I would love to hear everyone's opinion on this matter?
fazl1991 October 17th, 2011, 06:52 AM ^^ good idea i think :okay:

I prefer a sub-forum...
It will be easier to organize them in threads inside the sub-forum, unless you have no enough privileges to make one...
BigDreamer October 17th, 2011, 10:15 AM you mean a sub-forum for small projects only ?
Basrawii October 17th, 2011, 10:35 AM yes
elusive October 17th, 2011, 01:10 PM i like the idea...there are a lot of small projects i usually don't post which i still think are significant
BigDreamer October 24th, 2011, 08:05 AM Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that I will be a way for about a week for medical reasons.
I will still try to log on, but might not be very responsive. If it's very urgent, please contact one of the other mods.

iraqishi3i October 31st, 2011, 11:06 PM does anyone know what he said ?
BigDreamer November 1st, 2011, 01:17 PM ^^ hey guys
I don't know what happend to him, I just found out now. i'll ask around to see what's going on.
IraqiPlan_et November 4th, 2011, 01:05 AM Feeling better BigD :)
Do you mind if I create a thread for larger industrial news since the one we have is only for the smaller kind. Or maybe change the title of the current one to the more general "Industrial news" to include both smaller and larger, if Sheytan doesn't mind though (he created it).
BigDreamer November 4th, 2011, 03:06 AM ^^ Hi Iraqiplan :)
I'm feeling slightly better thanks :)
do you mind asking what kind of news you would like to post about ? i.e. why doesn't it fit to our current thread structure..
I think the best option is to rename it to industrial news in general, we're starting to accumlate lots of news threads on the main page, and i've notices that many dont get updated that frequently
IraqiPlan_et November 4th, 2011, 04:15 AM Yea you're right....I'll find another place for them.....now and then I come over industrial news articles that seem too big to put in the "smaller industrial news" thread, eg the plans of building five industrial cities, but since they're just plans they could easily fit in "construction plans and project news". I'm typing on my phone so I'll do it later....btw you should really go with the Samsung galaxy s2 (I have one) instead of anything from apple, android is simply superior....choosing iphone over Samsung is like choosing xbox 360 over ps3, the asians clearly do it better. ;)

we can change it to "Industrial news" in general, don't see a problem with that. But if they are just plans (early talks) at this point, it better going in that "Construction plans and project news" thread.

I agree ! I think the S2 is proving very tempting, however the S3 is coming out early next year lol, should I bother waiting lol !
i'm using a crapy old motorola and an old nokia right now ! both arn't smart phones ! given that I work in IT, i'm always infront of a desktop or a laptop like 99% of the time, so i don't really feel like i'm missing much when it comes to smart phones or tablets.. but still want to buy :P
BigDreamer November 10th, 2011, 11:41 PM Hi guys

About the old phones, since you work in IT and all, I would think you'd feel annoyed having to deal with them, going from advanced hi-tech electronics to an old motorola isn't the smoothest transition I'd say. :)

Yousifovic December 6th, 2011, 03:27 PM heloo BigDreamer
I suggest we make a thread for the work in the holly shrines
cos they keep expanding/renovating them all the year.. and as we all know, iraq is the home of the holly shrines..
so wat do u think ?
Note : I dont mean the imams only, but also the christian shrines, as we as all the the shrines. .
cheers
BigDreamer December 6th, 2011, 11:27 PM Nice idea yousifovic :)
what section would you like to have this thread ?
Yousifovic December 7th, 2011, 01:08 PM umm maybe in the main iraq forum ? just like how the other threads (like sports, aviation and etc) ?
or in the construction thread?
what do u think
BigDreamer December 8th, 2011, 12:12 AM sure :)
can we call it something like : Heritage Buildings Construction and Renovation News?
so this would cover, mosques, shrines, churches, any old building with important history and cultural value in the country ?
I think this deserves a thread of it's own on the main page :)
what do you think?
elusive December 8th, 2011, 03:28 PM i like the idea big D
BigDreamer February 17th, 2012, 02:30 AM hey yousif, do you still want that shrine/Heritage buildings thread to be created?
BigDreamer February 17th, 2012, 02:33 AM hey guys, I noticed that many proposals were being posted in the construction News thread on the first page, many of them are from architacture firms (with no real news about them).
The construction news thread is mostly about up-comming consturction projects (or small projects u/c doesn't deserve a thread.. etc)..
So I was thinkin of creating a new thread called "Concept Proposals and Vision projects", where people can post concept proposals (that dont need to necessary be real projects, they dont even need to be realisitic, it's mostly to share ideas).
what do you guys think?
SumerianKing February 17th, 2012, 09:33 AM Yess akhoia this is good because I have an amazing idea I want to share.,this also makes users practice their ideas, at the time reflecting upon feedback made to make improvement.
makaay31 February 22nd, 2012, 06:28 PM Hey guys,
I have a question, can i post photos of the Iraqi 1st Division in the 'Iraqi Premier League photos' thread? The league has started recently and there are a lot of funny games to post but I don't think starting a new thread is necessary.
Thanks

+1 we discussed this before and we were told when the Forum gets bigger. Well it's bigger and it seems like ultimately every thread ends up in that direction.
Basrawii March 17th, 2012, 08:13 AM May be they should start their own forum under middle east or they should stick back to things as they are, if you make a sub-forum for KRG, I demand a Sub-forum for Basra or South Iraq.

kurd123 April 8th, 2012, 07:46 PM Bigdreamer is turning a blind eye to racism from certain Arab members here. I withdraw the support I gave him as one of the founding members of this forum has he has turned out to be quite biased and unfit to moderate the Iraqi sub forum. He has also shown weak character by giving into member pressure and un-banning members that violated several (not just one) forum rules, including personal insults. He has on several occasions, turned a blind eye to clear racism and has instead deleted whole threads, and with it, the evidence.

Lol. no. I have clear evidence still available in my inbox of comments that have been ignored by the biased Bigdreamer. And off course you'd agree with him, after he bent the rules and let someone (you) that personally insulted other members back after a permanent ban.

Did I say that? as I said, you were banned for a reason, you should have stayed banned, however the rules were bent and you somehow came back. Gabrio should be banned, instead the post is deleted. two other members made racists comments and got away with them. The mod is biased, clearly.
kurd123 April 8th, 2012, 08:32 PM If gabrio is not banned, I will take this issues to other mods. Enough is enough, how many comments will be ignored before I respond and end up getting banned?

Kurd123, son, if you don't like it here, then just leave, and I need to tell you something, I find you very racist, even, most of the times, the kind of racism you exercise, make you not judge well your decisions or posts. A good example is the quotation up there, may I ask you who didn't you have had a fight with on this forum?
I used to think, you simply attack me, till I got bored of you, but now, u have problems with ShaytanElkabeer, BigD, I dunno everybody here.
You simply seem to be enjoying using the fact that you are a Kurdish person as a reason to be right always, thinking that some of the forum members here were the ones actually flying those jets with chemical weapons over Helbja, most of the times, your opinions, the ones you share here, builds a picture, of a radical 18 years old immature racist person, who has been taught too much hatred. I believe you havent been to Kurdistan, people there don't really think like you, and even if they do, not at the same degree, I just feel sorry for you. :ohno:

Secondly, no, it is the continous racist comments made by the member on here, let me just give you some examples.
"Ali-Iraq" - "Lesh tehti kurdi ya chaleb?"
"makaay31" responds to the same comment with "lol"
"Garibo" - lol im sick to see a peasant class kurd talk smack freely, you're lucky you have access to internet, or else your mom would of told you to walk the sheeps."
"Spin cycle" Several racist comments including "Mountain Turk"
"Basrawii" - "go back to your cave at the the mountain"
Just some examples.
Basrawii April 9th, 2012, 06:26 PM What do you think this is an Indian film? The creators of the forum were very clear on racism in the rules. If one Mod chooses to ignore it, I have the right to report it, and I will, it's up to them to decide what course of action to take.
stop attacking BigD, hes a great person... my god, KURD123, really r u okay brother? if you don't like it here just leave...
I mean you have been calling us, trolls, sand persians, sheep walkers ... and yet you feel you are right. With all my due respect, go breathe some fresh air out of that cave... I am serious.

I dare you to provide evidence. Anyway I have contacted the other mod, and he said he has raised it up in the 'Mod forum' so hopefully I should be seeing some results.
Basrawii April 9th, 2012, 06:33 PM That was only after I was called a Mountain Turk, which I ignored the first couple times.

I was talking geography, you should be proud of the mountain, it is the place were Kurds fought for their freedom throughout all ages...
I am proud to be called a camel jockey, it is a great animal, it gives too much effort to keep going for you, it drinks nothing to make sure you get the share and it is very loyal, once, a camel traveled half the desert they say to kill the one who killed its owner. I like to be called desert man, or anything similar, desert is a great place, it taught us patience and made us solid and strong.
You should be proud of what you are, so what if you come from the mountain, the mountain is high and you should take that attitude of yours into higher levels of mutual respect. grow up, get out of that cave and learn that no one is chasing you because you are Kurdish.
sheytanElKebir April 9th, 2012, 06:40 PM actually i found the sand persians one to be quite innovative, haven't heard that one before! will have to keep it in mind to us on my fellow shroogis! :D
Basrawii April 9th, 2012, 07:01 PM Shaytan someone needs to ban u! lol
again :D
iraqishi3i April 9th, 2012, 07:02 PM Are you on your period?
Honestly dont mean to kill your rant here but this sounds like someone whos on there period :
Bigdreamer is turning a blind eye to racism from certain Arab members here.
SUCK IT UP ... YOUVE BEEN RACIST BUT NONE OF US HAVE GOT THE EVIDENCE BECAUSE NONE OF US ARE SAD ENOUGH TO TAKE SCREENSHOTS. SANDDDDD PERSIAAAAAAAAAANNNNN AND PROUDDDDDDDDDD !!!!:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::righton::righton::righton::righton::righton::righton:

Sinjar April 9th, 2012, 07:16 PM As a Kurdish proverb says no friends but the mountains.
Basrawii April 9th, 2012, 07:18 PM As a Kurdish proverb says no friends but the mountains.
So you are proud of the mountains right? its part of your identity i believe. Am I right? I hope Kurd123 feels the same about mountains.
Sinjar April 9th, 2012, 07:36 PM Yea why shouldn't I? I mean there are mountains everywhere in the world and it's nothing to be ashamed of.
But the problem, as I see it, was in the middle of a heated debate those jokes were used to downgrade kurd123. You see it turned to be a personal, racist and sectarian instead of focusing on the contest..
Sinjar April 9th, 2012, 07:40 PM Kurd123 is making a bit too much out of this though. BigD has banned several members for being racists and I think he knows what he is doing. Deleting the thread was the right thing to do.
He probably also have a warning system so the guilty persons are in his list and will be taking care off if they repeat their mistakes.
rasheed30 April 9th, 2012, 07:42 PM nothing is more beautiful than a desert, specially during sunset when a camel caravan passing by. very proud of my desert.

kurd123 April 9th, 2012, 08:57 PM I've reported it, and will let them decide. If you can find any racism from my side, please post it.
Sinjar, you don't know what you're talking about, what am I taking too far? if you don't mind people being racist to you, I don't care, you're just portraying a weak character, but don't comment about what I do.

Idiot you lot speak Arabic all the time. Why the hell would I not speak Kurdish? all I said to him was to leave it as this is not the place for that kind of talk, in Kurdish to not single him out. God you are really stupid.

I like sinjar, hes smart, he contributes to all Iraq related posts as well as KRG. Thats no weakness.

Insult or not?
kurd123 April 9th, 2012, 09:08 PM Insult or not?
That's nothing for someone that called me a dog. Look I'm going to ignore you, we both know that you believe you're pissing me off, but trust me you're not. As for me having a go at mods no reason, clearly there are reason and I posted them above, as well as messaging another mod that agreed with me, so I will leave it for them to deal with. You can reply, but I'll just ignore you.

:ohno: why are you insulting me. Besides i didn't say that you shouldn't speak Kurdish but it was inappropriate time when you did it...
BigDreamer April 9th, 2012, 11:43 PM seriously, I go on a holiday for one week, and this is what happens :ohno:
why on earth cant you guys get along.
kurd123, what on earth is your problem? you haven't sent me a single messege but ONE, which has nothing but insults and attacks? after all the times that people who complained about YOUR racisim and hate speach, i alwayd gave you another chance, yet you are so fast to jump to conclusions..
in anycase, i still have no clue what you are on about, maybe you need to send me the exact posts that offended you, like everyone else.

Read your PM. I want to see where I attacked anyone without prior provocation.
Ali - Iraq April 9th, 2012, 11:54 PM You just called me an idiot and stupid
kurd123 April 9th, 2012, 11:57 PM You just called me an idiot and stupid
After you called me a Kurdish dog. As I said, I ignored several minor attacks, and I don't respond in such a manner without prior provocation.
Ali - Iraq April 10th, 2012, 12:12 AM I didnt say kurdish but i said dog . Although i dont have anything against kurds in matter of fact my best friend is kurdish. Nonetheless i find your messages very insulting for instance you compare us with saddams cruel crimes , you always generalize and i havent read a single nice word about arabs than warmongers, sectarian, idiots and i can continue....
Ali - Iraq April 10th, 2012, 12:15 AM Besides if you feel that most of the members are against you then why do you not leave and instead join a kurdish forum??

This isn't just an Iraqi forum. You don't own it. It is a western forum and I will stay for as long as I want. BigDreamer isn't the highest or only authority here and I can surely raise the issue with other mods/admins. Who are you to tell me what to do?

i haven't told you what to do. Why do you misunderstand everything? I just don't understand why you are staying in a forum, when you are saying that the majority of the members are hating you? What do you expect, that all these members gets banned because of you? Seriously pull yourself together and be a little more mature. I apologize for saying that you are a dog it wasn't my intention to hurt you, it was just for fun.

It was for fun? how old are you? racist child. Everyone? hardly. My issue is with racists. The forum rules are very clear about racism, and it recognizes no quantity. If BigDreamer doesn't deal with it, there are others that will. I have the evidence.

So calling you a dog means i'm a racist? just look how you comment, every single comment is provocative. '' Racist child''. You are a racist when you say all arabs are murderers, criminals and influenced by Saddam's act
BigDreamer April 10th, 2012, 12:28 AM aright guys, we got it
infractions and bans will be given out, i need some time to read what happened.
Sinjar April 10th, 2012, 01:33 AM there is a warning system in the forum right? Cause I think no one should be banned without getting a warning.
BigDreamer April 10th, 2012, 01:37 AM yes, that should indeed be the case, unless you have been banned before.
Basrawii April 10th, 2012, 03:36 AM I find this very ridiculous, why people expressing their own opinions should be banned for one member's wimps and wishes. The same member who attacked most of us repeatedly.
FromBaghdadWithLove April 10th, 2012, 04:00 AM This is so lame Walla, just sit and enjoy the laughter on this forum, most of the members here made friends with eachother on fb, as a matter of fact I met two ppl from this forum in rl, coulda been a third but he had exams.
Like seriously why all this man... Trying to get people banned and acting all tough behind a keyboard...
Coulda just stayed as a regular user on the forum, no-one was going to bite you... Matter of fact no-one really minded you..
Far out you spoilt it for yourself and others.
BigDreamer April 10th, 2012, 06:26 AM ^^ +1

in anycase, those who have been involved have been contact / infracted.
now lets all move on

makaay31 April 10th, 2012, 09:07 AM ^^ No, ofcourse not.. But it is just funny
sheytanElKebir April 10th, 2012, 01:52 PM will he be unbanned? It'll be good to have him back once he's calmed down. He did PM me to apologise for that thread title he wrote I hope you do give it consideration. He's been on the forum for a long time and his opinion is part of the diversity of Iraq.
SumerianKing April 10th, 2012, 02:43 PM Wow he actually apologised. I dont mind him comming back. We are all humans who can be narrow minded and ignorant at times.

I was going through all comments with a big smile on my face then came to the above comment and it faded away. But, tbh, I don't hate KURD123, hes just a bit so radical and angry because of something. Really, when I saw banned under his name, I was like, wow I will miss this guy and the way he makes me dislike his comments.
So, I hope BigD you can take some consideration and may be, unban him after a while, let him cool down a bit. You know Musame7 Kareem they say.
I mean ppl, he made me google CUTE CRYING BABIES images and post them here... the guys deserves to come back but after a while.
Sinjar April 10th, 2012, 08:56 PM As I said everyone should have a second chance.
As for him apologizing??! He was so steady about the title and saying it was factual correct and I don't know what... But it's good if he really can see what he had done now..
BigDreamer April 11th, 2012, 02:37 AM ok guys, some of you seem to have this silly expectations that if you get banned, there is usually a way for you to get back, perhaps because sheytan, euphrates etc where bought back.. but these really were exceptional circumstances, that happened because of a technicality, in BOTH of these cases, both of these users had a spotless history, and were banned (by me or otherwise) without any prior warnings, so they were unbanned because of that, and ONLY that reason.
let me state this as clear as i possibly can.
I Commit myself that under no circumstances what so ever that I will ever participate in unbanning anyone in the futrue, regardless of who issued the ban, or whether it was "fair" or not.
bans are ALWAYS given out if have caused serious problems, and I PROMISE that I will give you atleast 1 warning (formal or otherwise) and 1 infraction/brig, before a full ban. so if you didn't learn your lesson, perhaps you deserve to find another place on the web.
under no cericmstnaces should anyone here asume that you can come back after a full ban, i assure it will NEVER happen again.
all bans are given out after discussion and approval of the high level admins. so therefore, don't assume that I will be your saviour if you screw up in this forum, or anywhere else for that matter.
case in point, look how long it took to unban sheytanElKabir, and I will not go through that mess again !
Basrawii April 11th, 2012, 07:52 AM I think I have a warning, and soon i will need to get banned, because i have final exams.
anyway, is there anyway for those banned to get back in different names? or they should change their proxy and stuff.
BigDreamer April 11th, 2012, 08:20 AM sure, i can brig you till you finish with your exams no problem :D
Yousifovic April 11th, 2012, 09:01 AM Kurd123 should always be part of this forum !
my opinion
sheytanElKebir April 11th, 2012, 12:57 PM so is the only way back for Kurd123 is under a new alias?
Basrawii April 11th, 2012, 05:35 PM Erbilious
iraqishi3i April 12th, 2012, 12:02 AM i thought it was kurdish domination ... or kurdish 1804 ... lol surely if the mods know that people are creating a new account then anyone can just get around the system ?
BigDreamer April 12th, 2012, 12:19 AM returning trolls are banned by mods as part of "business as usual"
sheytanElKebir April 12th, 2012, 08:49 PM here are the answers...

I note that Kurd123 was as usual trying to be reasonable... but got shouted down by the loony brigade.
he also didn't create any new accounts on SSC:
I don't care if they think new accounts are me, as if they are important enough for me to create new accounts and converse with them.
those were by the RBK loony brigades

The average IQ on that forum is probably 90. The moderator is a complete buffoon and I know for a fact that he asked the Turkish moderators to support him. That is a fact. I don't care if they think new accounts are me, as if they are important enough for me to create new accounts and converse with them.
And I feel so sorry for WW2Girl she is just so dumb
sheytanElKebir April 12th, 2012, 09:23 PM yes makaay. I was cutting out the insults!

There is no northern iraq
that forum is actually hilarious lol
SumerianKing April 12th, 2012, 09:43 PM If talking in his context, then his forum title, which is his own generalisation of Arabs, really shed light on his own IQ level. If he was so clever he would know that IQ is not a measure of anything that important to the extent that it will aid your life. One might have an incredible high IQ but may have very weak emotional and life management skills. The world will never exit from the box.
SumerianKing April 12th, 2012, 09:44 PM hahaha. nice one iraqiyezidi :D
Sheytan, you just cant get enough can you.

BigDreamer April 25th, 2012, 11:28 AM Hi guys
As some of you might be aware.. our forum has been growing quite rapidly .. especially in terms of number of projects..
Along this growth, I've noticed that there is a number of very small projects, that are being given an entire thread in the projects & construction section of this forum.
While it might seem fine to some.. this causes clutter and makes it harder to search the forum if we continue with this path (as you probably are aware, searching functionality isn't particularly great on this site.. and browsing for a particular project by location is the most usual way to go) so if we create a thread for every school, bus terminal, small hotel etc.. we will have a navigation nightmare..
so I think we should have an open discussion to what you guys think is the preferred way in dealing with small projects..
should we for example :
1) Disallow posting small projects entirely, if so, how do we define a "small project"
2)Put all the small projects in one thread (like what we have in the completed section).. if so, how are we going to track their status.. should we even care about their status?
3)Create several categories of small projects (eg, schools, hotels, roads etc).. we already have a thread for carparks for example.. and even one for schools.. etc. again, how do we track status?
4)Try to push for a new structure for the forum.. (this is probably the hardest option to push for) .. for example, create a new subsection for hotels, a subsection for roads, residential, commercial / retail .. etc.. if we are going to go for this option, we probably need to think about this deeper, because changing a forum structure is a big deal on this website.. and might not even gets approved by admins..
sheytanElKebir April 25th, 2012, 12:11 PM in my view put all projects under $10M in a "small XXXX projects" thread. Each "topic" having its own "small projects" thread:
-small retail/hospitality
-Small hotels/tourism projects
-Roads / highways / bridges
-Small residential blocks/housing projects
etc...
Chounz April 25th, 2012, 12:32 PM Not 1) and definitely not 4). Either no.2 or no.3. I'll post more later.. need to leave now.
makaay31 April 25th, 2012, 03:24 PM Agree, definitely not 1. and 4., and for me not 2., I think 3. is the best option
fazl1991 April 25th, 2012, 03:42 PM to me 3 looks good :)
Euphrates April 25th, 2012, 09:09 PM I go for 2. We don't need to follow statuses for small projects, it's not that important.
3 -opening more threads is a bad choice.
Chounz April 25th, 2012, 09:41 PM Small hotels in the normal hotel/hospitality thread. (all hotels are roughly the same size anyway in iraq, not a big difference between a 'small' hotel and a regular hotel) small roads/bridges etc. in the roads/bridges thread (make one if we dont have one already) and small schools in the schools thread (not sure what small schools are anyway, all the schools are pretty small)
Other than that, all small projects in the small projects thread.
diako_ber April 26th, 2012, 09:58 PM Number 2 seems good to me
Sinjar April 27th, 2012, 09:39 AM I will vote for number two because as you said most of the threads are already there. The forum will be more organized in this way.
We can just update the projects in the threads and if we have to care about the status we could put it in the first post of the thread but that needs a lot of work and research. Therefore I think we shouldn't not really care about the status.
Nizey April 30th, 2012, 07:29 PM Salam Jama3a, do we have a thread related to Iraq's real estate sector and related projects? I cant seem to find one.
BigDreamer May 1st, 2012, 01:09 AM Hi Nizey, what sort of content are you looking for regarding real estate?
in away, most projects on this site are real estate ! so we dont really have a particular thread for this per se..
please note that real estate advertisements (esp by agents) are not generally permitted on this site.
Nizey May 1st, 2012, 01:37 PM Thanks for the reply BD,
There was just threads for most of the other sectors like transport, energy, etc. I thought that there would be one specifically focused on real estate developments, like all the housing compounds and mini-cities being built, that's all. Thx.
sheytanElKebir May 1st, 2012, 01:49 PM there is iraqi homes and low cost housing in iraq.
BigDreamer May 4th, 2012, 11:46 PM Hi everyone
I will be away for 2 weeks on work-related travel, and may not have Internet access (or time) to log on . But I will probably log on once a while to see how things are going.
Other mods will be attending to this forum meanwhile. If you guys have any urgent issues, please let them know.
