You almost wouldn't have known the ICC trophy was being held here for the first week or so. It was a surprise to me when it started as I hadn't seen one single thing in the news, or adds, about it being on.

The Poms are celebrating winning this game though, their team has become a lot better this year, and they are confident of doing well in the Ashes next year. This was the first time they had beaten Australia in a one day game in 5 1/2 years. The result made the news and the newspaper back pages.

But soccer is by far the main event over here, it almost runs all year around so it dominates everything. They don't have that Winter/Football - Summer/Cricket mentality that we do. Also to a lot of people, especially in the South, Cricket is not considered a working class game, your average fan is typically old style English, the grounds here are not big, so most tickets only go to the straw hat, fat members types so typical in the County game.

I have been in pubs here when the Ashes were on, and not a single Pom was watching it on TV, myself and another Aussie had to ask for one screen to be turned on to the cricket.

Brett Lee could be in trouble in India if he dosent get his game together pretty quickly.

I think he is pretty stiff at the moment as we have a great bunch of fast bowlers but Brett is not the worst one and will get his chance soon enough.
