Brčko is small town on Sava, it's near Croatian and Serbia and Montenegro's border. It has ~60.000 population from which 70% are Serbs, 20% Bosniaks and 10% Croats. Before war it was a bit diffrent (Bosniaks were relative majority) Until 1998 it was part of Republic of Srpska (town, some villages on south were part of Federation), and now it's district, it's part of Republic of Srpska and Federation in the same time. The city of
BRCKO

Brcko is one of the wealthiest cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Before the war, this was certainly not the case. It is because Brcko is not a part of the Federation or Republika Srpska - it has avoided much of the bureaucracy that smothers development in the rest of the country.

The OBN 'Quality of Life' survey selected Brcko as the second best city in Bosnia-Herzegovina in which to live - only Ilidza did better.

I think that Brcko has great potential, and once all those projects get fixed and the damage is fixed up, it seriously will look nice. :)

Brcko is Beautiful, and a growing city! Does anyone know the population, and what is the main realigion in the city?

Don't know about the religion, but I know that in the district Serbs make up 40%, Bosniaks 39%, and Croats 20%, and that's out of a total population of about 50,000. In the town Serbs definitely have a majority, but I'm not sure by how much. I heard it's not too large, 50-60%, but I could be wrong. The thing is that a lot of it's Bosniak and Croat residents live in the federation and commute there every morning.
