I have my Sim City 4 only one week, so everythings new for me. Because I`ve played Sim City 1, 2000, 3000 I know something. But one thing I can`t get right, so here is my question

HOW DO I MAKE DEALS WITH OTHER CITIES IN THE REGION?

you create 1 neighbour city and u connect with them...

w/roads, highways, rail, powerlines, etc

Deals can be tricky when you're first learning, so here are a few tips.

All deals are done by linking one city to another with either powerpoles, water pipes, or roads (for transporting garbage). Make sure that the city you are wanting to make the deal with has the right connection.

You can only make a deal with a DIRECT NEIGHBOR. You cannot string powerlines across three regions and connect with another city, they have to be directly north east south west of you.

If you have built the correct facilities (such as a powerplant or garbage dump), you have to make sure that there is adequate excess space or power, etc in order to make the deal - the powerplant deal starts at a flat 1000Mhw as the first option - so if its over capacity or underfunded, you won't get a deal - it wont even show up. Therefore, if you get this problem, fiddle around with the funding levels.

Garbage can be tricky - try to find an area that will actually be able to support the garbage dump - don't put it in some small town, because there is no way that a small town of 500-1000 people can make enough tax revenue to hold a medium or large sized dump (35+ tiles..). That is unless you've got some very efficient infrastructure and some deals brining you money too. (Ah - selling power and importing garbage - the powerplant makes you money, as does the garbage, but the excess funds make up the cost in maintenance).

To make a deal i need:
Connection (i knew that one already)
A city that wants a deal
Some requaraments:
Electricity - 1000Mhw
Water - ?
Garbage - ?

Can some one tell what i need to make a water and a garbage deal?

I'm remembering this off-hand, but I believe water requires 2000 cubic metres (or feet, I forget what system the game works in) of water that is not used by your city in order to make a deal.

Watch out; as your city grows and needs more water but you have a neighbor deal on, the _neighbor_ will be the more important of the two, and your city will run dry before the deal is effected. Watch your news ticker.

For garbage you basically neeed a garbage zone with roads all around it, for access. Or you can have roads on just a few sides. The thing with garbage is that you need a large amount of space as your city grows, so plan ahead. Don't spend a lot at first, just make the dump grow as it needs it - again, watch your news ticker and pay attention to your city councillors at first.

remeber with connections with power/water/garbage you must make a connection from A to B then you MAKE THE deal in city B. NOT A.
