Exploratus May 1st, 2011, 12:44 AM Interesting to say the least... southfloridamiamian May 1st, 2011, 02:39 AM My knowledge of economics isn't as great as it should be,but as the gateway of the Americas is Miami in a perfect position to capitalize on this with a booming Latin America? I'm hoping for Brickell to start attracting european and asian banks and financial companies aswell. Perhaps the financial brain power will still prefer London/NYC but among the second hand choices; Miami could easily beat Dubai as a place to work. massp88 September 16th, 2011, 02:30 AM Nice! I'm hoping for Brickell to start attracting european and asian banks and financial companies aswell. Perhaps the financial brain power will still prefer London/NYC but among the second hand choices; Miami could easily beat Dubai as a place to work. Please explain how Miami can and will beat Dubai as a place to work as far as finance is concerned. Hia-leah JDM September 16th, 2011, 02:35 AM It's in Amurka and has insuperable ties and connections to the next booming economies of the world in Latin America? 1772 September 16th, 2011, 02:52 AM Please explain how Miami can and will beat Dubai as a place to work as far as finance is concerned. What Hia-leah JDM said plus it's a liveable city? If you think Miami has dead streets and highways and an un-bearable summer... Wait till you see Dubai! No street-level activity at all, only highways and 120 in the summer... zach7795 September 16th, 2011, 06:22 AM what building will the exchange be in? and will it by any chance look like this: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=nyse&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=707&tbm=isch&tbnid=ycg1j55PsYbSjM:&imgrefurl=http://finlittv.com/2011/05/nyse-euronext-to-promote-financial-literacy-week/&docid=MeIlGz8FH6s1VM&w=600&h=400&ei=585yTs3uJcuitgfSltShDA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=599&vpy=201&dur=2064&hovh=183&hovw=275&tx=159&ty=87&page=1&tbnh=155&tbnw=189&start=0&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0 lol JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJJJAAAJJAJAJAJA! 1772 September 16th, 2011, 06:35 AM what building will the exchange be in? and will it by any chance look like this: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=nyse&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=707&tbm=isch&tbnid=ycg1j55PsYbSjM:&imgrefurl=http://finlittv.com/2011/05/nyse-euronext-to-promote-financial-literacy-week/&docid=MeIlGz8FH6s1VM&w=600&h=400&ei=585yTs3uJcuitgfSltShDA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=599&vpy=201&dur=2064&hovh=183&hovw=275&tx=159&ty=87&page=1&tbnh=155&tbnw=189&start=0&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0 lol JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJJJAAAJJAJAJAJA! Exchanges are reducing the floor model in favor of the computerized versions. A little sad, I like the buzz of the floor. :) It'll probably be more like this http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/images/news/topstories/2009/08/19/w-stock-market-cp-RTR26VDD.jpg And it's HAHAHAHA :) zach7795 September 16th, 2011, 07:04 AM Exchanges are reducing the floor model in favor of the computerized versions. It only makes sense to be in the center of the financial district of South Florida...why would they look in Doral? miami305 September 17th, 2011, 02:26 PM Exchanges are reducing the floor model in favor of the computerized versions. They also have offices in Miramar. Cheap land and/or rent I imagine. Corporations everywhere are doing it... fleeing the downtown's for suburbs. Obfuscatus September 18th, 2011, 08:37 AM ... USSOUTHCOM is another notable employer in Doral. miami305 September 20th, 2011, 03:43 AM Isn't Univision Television Headquarters in Doral as well? spellbound September 20th, 2011, 04:25 AM Isn't Univision Television Headquarters in Doral as well? I'll allow Don Francisco to answer this one: "La mayor parte de las instalaciones de producción en Doral, pero la sede actual de Univision en Nueva York. Y ahora, una canción sobre el detergente Tide ..." http://www.laregiondigital.com.mx/web/images/stories/Imagenes/06-01-2011/donfrancisco.jpg miami305 September 20th, 2011, 04:54 AM ^^.......so funny....I hate that show. zach7795 September 20th, 2011, 05:04 AM ^^.......so funny....I hate that show. are you nuts!!! I grew up watching that show with my grandmother its the best! the guys like 100 but he looks like hes 60:lol::banana:^^ miami305 September 21st, 2011, 03:51 AM No comments.....lol.....:) UltimaKilo September 26th, 2011, 07:02 PM Taxes in Doral are much better than Brickell, which is why companies outside of finance are relocating. There is a plan to move all the consuls in Miami into one consolidated building in Coral Gables. They mayor recently has been recruiting, though unsuccessfully. If we had a mini "Embassy Row" in downtown or Brickell, it would he awesome. Instead they're spread out. Rubibond007 January 21st, 2012, 06:21 AM I really Doubt it will look like that (BTW, thats the Franckfurt stock Exchange). I think, that the new miami exchange will look more like the DirectEdge (EDGX) in New Jersey.. Wich consist in a small trading floor full of programmers. And the Market Makers and Liquidity providers will be locate in their own offices, but not at the exchange floor.. I really doubt about the success of this exchange, since the competition is brutal in this industry. EDGX, BATS, ARCA etc all of those exchange were lucky when they came around, because in those days the ECN arb business was booming (Buying an Stock in one exchange and reselling that stock at another exchange was the real deal back in those days, like Buying at NYSE route and selling at EDGX for a penny profit). Today, that kind of trade are pretty much over... Options?? must institutional players prefer the open outcry models for options. That's why the CBOE, NYBOT, CME and NYMEX trading floor still open. ooohhhh interesting:) but do you know what building they'll be at or if they're even going downtown? ... and i know i was just still laughing from the marlins stadium thread\ jajajaajajajaj...i mean hahahahahahaha.^^ |
