I found nothing like this after searching and thought i would just create the thread, so this can be discussed here, what project is likely, what not etc. I am not sure if this is the right section for it, if not mods can just move it where they want it too. (now i have the right section^^) But enough introduction here we go with the ones we know of:

1001m Burj Mubarak al Kabir - Kuwait (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=339039)
the project seems yet visionary and other forumers already stated in the thread that this won't happen before other infrastructure projects happened. in the next few years it seems unlikely

1000m Kingdom Tower - Jeddah (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=525819)
Also called Mile-High Tower, the height ranges from 1000m to 1600m. The thread is on prep and this building is right now the most likely one to happen, but still i am sceptic about it.

1000m Nakheel Tower - Dubai (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=722506)
cancelled

965m Sewun IFC - Seoul (no active thread)
edit: cancelled

850m One Dubai - Dubai (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=620512)
not yet cancelled, but there weren't much news and it also seems unlikely that this happens in near future in my opinion

(from quicklinks page)
other possible candidates:

500m - Yujiapu Financial Area Supertall (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=745900)
"According to some rumors, the tower will seek to become China’s tallest skyscraper." -zorg
also here (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76615265&postcount=121)

720m - India Tower
If they raise the height there is a possibility for it being taller, but unlikely

---------------------

let the discussion begin
i'm optimistic that by 2015 a building will be under construction that will take the record from burj khalifa and that by 2025 its finished

Dear KillerZavatar

965m Sewun IFC - Seoul (no active thread)
someone has information about this? i think its cancelled

Actually "IFC - Seoul(300m)" underconstruction, 35% progressed complete in 2012.

965m Sewun...Sorry there is no proposal 965m in korea. Maybe you little confused with "Dream hub of seoul"

Dream hub project now prep with financial.

i just copied it from the quicklinks thread, so in fact it was a proposal before, but like you pointed out already cancelled or height changed :)

1007m Kingdom Tower - Jeddah (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=87146414#post87146414)
Now with a real render and construction being on preparation is the one that is most likely to be the new tallest.

1750m Al Hosaini Tower - Port of Sudan (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1471363&page=6)
i cannot take this project seriously myself. Also CTBUH already put the project on status:vision, yet worth mentioning.

The Dutch Mountain - 8 possible locations in the Netherlands (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1469909)
Clearly a visionary project that doesn't really seem logical to me.

800m+ - Solar Tower - Several locations (Arizona / Australia) (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1423530)
Something we hear about always from time to time. Actually one of the things that make a lot of sense, yet are expensive in the build, but have a good and economically friendly output of stable energy. We don't have yet one project, but i think it is worth mentioning, because it seems quite probably that it will happen one time and due to the fast construction time (less than 3 years) it may rise one day and be even finished before another building that would have been the tallest by that time. Keep in mind this is not a building, but a structure
