Klaipeda is 3rd largest Lithuanian city with population of 200,000 located on the Baltic coast.
Yesterday I received a confirmation that the construction of "Gandraliskes" quarter has already started and the whole project will be fully complete in 7-8 years from now.
The "Gandraliskes" project is developed by two large companies of Klaipeda in an area which formely was a Soviet tank military base. The project is mainly residential with some office and commercial spaces. The quarter area is 9 hectares, total building area over 180,000 m2 which will be home for about 6,000 people.
Currently the construction of first 3 low-rise buildings is starting, first highrise construction will start next year after the detailed designs will be chosen in a competition (architectural competitions will be held for each separate complex of the project).
There will be 9 high-rise buildings over 12 florrs high, 7 of which 22-34 floors high, this will include:
- five 22 floor apartment buildings
- two 30-34 storey apartment/office buildings
- and dozens of smaller buildings
More info will follow as I'll get details about exact construction dates of each building and some more technical data about highrises, I'm in contact with the main architect of the project.
