I myself don't really like Singapore. I used to study in Singapore. I would admit that at the first time I arrived in this city I was so amazed . I felt like I had just got into a new luxury world. But after a few months living there , I got so bored. There were nothing to do in Singapore except going to the malls and shopping. Every residential area looks the same. I got lost many times among those modern street corners when trying to reach my friends' houses. But one thing that I learned in Singapore is when you get lost, find the Metro Station. Singapore food is similar to Chinese food but Hong Kong does a better job in this sector.

you need a mix of both, each skyscraper in his block of land should have certain percentage, maybe 10-15% of its land as of green/parks/rest area (and it can increase his height where appropriate), each city should allocated a certain percentage of land as reserved, etc.

Steve Wynn keen to open casino hotel in Singapore-report

Not sure where to post this, but I find this article exciting. It clearly shows how successful the 2 IRs are and how attractive SG is as a new gaming hub.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/06/20/wynn-singapore-idUSL3E7HK02820110620

Jun 20 (Reuters) - Casino gaming tycoon Steve Wynn, who controls Wynn Resort and Wynn Macau , is keen to build a property in Singapore, where two one-year-old casino-resorts look set to surpass the Las Vegas Strip in gaming revenues this year, the Business Times reported.

"I'm dying to go to Singapore," Wynn told Singapore's Business Times in an interview. "That's my next goal in life -- to build a hotel in Singapore."

Such a hotel would need the ancillary income of a casino to justify the investment, he added.

Singapore legalised casino gaming in 2005 in a bid to double visitor arrivals by 2015. Genting Singapore's Resorts World at Sentosa opened in February last year, while Las Vegas Sands' Marina Bay Sands started operations in April.

Wynn will have to wait till March 2017 to open a property in the Southeast Asian city as Singapore has granted the two incumbents exclusivity for the period. (Reporting by Kevin Lim)

yea, but that's what they said. If you can stuff everything in a 10-kilo-luggage, they'll let you bring them along. They limit the size of your luggage so it's really hard to get eveything you need.
You should leave shampoo, lotion and stuffs like that behind because you can buy them in supermarkets when you get to the place.

Singaporean law firm expands to Cambodia
Last Updated on 05 February 2013 By Low Wei Xiang
Rajah & Tann, Southeast Asia’s largest law firm, has expanded to Cambodia through a tie-up with local law firm Sok & Heng, which has taken on a new name, RT Sok & Heng Law Office.

Operations began on February 1 for the newly branded firm, led by the two founding partners of Sok & Heng, Sok Khavan and Heng Chhay. Besides working with its clients, the firm will also help Rajah & Tann clients seeking legal advice on Cambodia.

In a press release last month, Khavan said that his clients in the Kingdom are increasingly looking for business opportunities overseas, and foreign interest in Cambodia is also growing. Being part of the Rajah & Tann network “puts us in a prime position to take advantage of the growth opportunities.”

Rajah & Tann’s deputy managing partner, Patrick Ang, estimates that there are “not more than 10 international law firms” assisting foreigners investing in Cambodia, and his firm is now one of them.

With the Cambodian Stock Exchange recently launched, local companies that are considering listing but are unfamiliar with the process can also go through RT Sok & Heng for Rajah & Tann’s regional expertise, he added.

Singapore-based Rajah & Tann’s network currently includes China, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, offering services in areas including corporate finance and capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, shipping, and litigation. Its office in Myanmar launches on March 1.

Before the formal tie-up, Sok & Heng was the local associate office for Rajah & Tann.

While the two firms have integrated their business operations, they still operate under separate regulatory and legal frameworks, and do not share profits, said Ang.

“We operate as business partners […] but it is not considered a merger or acquisition,” he added.

“The firm is still owned by Cambodian-registered lawyers, only with the support of lawyers from Singapore.”

Under Cambodian regulations, foreign companies cannot practice local law.

With the tie-up, RT Sok & Heng’s current 10-lawyer team is expected to “expand in numbers”, Ang said.

But the firm is having difficulty “finding good English-speaking lawyers in Cambodia”, said Desmond Wee, a partner with Rajah & Tann.

RT Sok & Heng could not be reached for comments yesterday.
