I totally forgot about this project! I really like to see this 'underwater' hotel and theme park and monorails being built. A couple of years ago Bangkok Land proposed a similar project for Muang Thong Thani, that's mainly to attract retiring Japanese people. There were going to be huge water fountains and a man-made volcano (weird?!!)

wow... an underwater hotel with theme park would be an amazing addition to bkk.. it will definately be one of the main attraction! but i was wondering if this building is architecturally possible.. and if it is.. it's going to be pretty tough to fund this massive project.

โค้ก ทุ่ม 40 ล้านบาท คว้าเมนไตเติ้ลสปอนเซอร์ งาน เวิลด์คาร์นิวัล แบงคอก สวนสนุกเคลื่อนที่ของแม็ทชิ่ง เผยสปอนเซอร์อีก 4 รายยังเจรจาอยู่ยังไม่สรุป ส่วนความคืบหน้าก่อสร้างติดตั้งเครื่องเล่นคืบ 50% แล้ว

นายธนพร โฆสิตาภัย รองผู้ช่วยกรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัท ไทยน้ำทิพย์ จำกัด ผู้ผลิตและจัดจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์โคคาโคลา เปิดเผยว่า โค้กมีแผนที่จะจัดกิจกรรมในช่วงเทศกาลปลายปีอยู่แล้ว โดยมีงบประมาณที่ตั้งไว้ ส่วนการเข้าไปเป็นเมนไตเติ้ลสปอนเซอร์ให้กับทาง แม็ทชิ่งที่จัดเวิลด์คาร์นิวัลฟันแฟร์แบงคอก นั้นถือเป็นงบพิเศษที่แยกออกมา โดยเป็นการเจรจากันทั้งระดับต่างประเทศและในไทย เนื่องจากโค้กเป็นสปอนเซอร์กับทางยูเคฟันแฟร์ในต่างประเทศมาตลอด

สำหรับการเข้าร่วมเป็นสปอนเซอร์ในครั้งนี้ โค้กจะมีการจัดกิจกรรมการตลาดแบบครบวงจร ในรูปแบบต่างๆ รวมทั้งจะมีการส่งเสริมการขาย ซึ่งโค้กมองว่า การเป็นสปอนเซอร์นั้นถือเป็นการตอบแทนให้กับลูกค้าสร้างความใกล้ชิดกับลูกค้า ไม่ได้เป็นการสร้างแบรนด์เนื่องจาก โค้กเป็นแบรนด์ที่เลยขั้นนั้นไปแล้ว

ที่ผ่านมาโค้กก็ร่วมเป็นสปอนเซอร์มาตลอดกับกิจกรรมต่างๆโดยเฉพาในระดับรากหญ้าในต่างจังหวัด เช่น ประเพณีวิ่งควาย งานสงกรานต์ งานลอยกระทง เป็นต้น ส่วนการเป็นสปอนเซอร์ในสวนสนุกนั้นเช่น ฟาร์มจระเข้ สวนน้ำเดอะมอลล์ เป็นต้น

นายสมชาย ชีวสุทธานนท์ กรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัท แม็ทชิ่ง เอ็นเตอร์เทนเม้นท์ จำกัด กล่าวว่า หลังจากที่ได้โค้กเป็นเมนไตเติ้ลสปอนเซอร์แล้วมีมูลค่า 40 ล้านบาท ส่วนสปอนเซอร์อีก 4 รายรายละ 20 ล้านบาทนั้น ขณะนี้อยู่ระหว่างการเจรจาในรายละเอียด โดยเป็นสินค้าอินเตอร์เนชั่นแนลแบรนด์ เช่น กลุ่มสื่อสาร รถยนต์ อุปกรณ์ถ่ายภาพ

สำหรับความคืบหน้าการเตรียมจัดงานโคคาโคลา เวิลด์ คาร์นิวัล แบงคอก ขณะนี้มีความคืบหน้าแล้วกว่า 50% คาดว่าจะสามารถประกอบเครื่องเล่นแล้วเสร็จภายในสัปดาห์ที่ 3 ของเดือนนี้ และเริ่มเปิดให้บริการในวันที่ 24 พฤศจิกายนนี้แน่นอน ซึ่งเครื่องเล่นต่างๆได้ติดตั้งบนพื้นที่กว่า 50,000 ตารางเมตร ช่วงเวลาการแสดงคือ 24 พฤศจิกายน 2547 – 14 กุมภาพันธ์ 2548 รวมระยะเวลา 84 วัน

โดยบริษัทจะใช้งบประมาณประชาสัมพันธ์กว่า 90 ล้านบาท และคาดว่าจะมีคนเข้ามาร่วมในงานกว่า 2 ล้านคน โดยคิดบัตรผ่านประตู 20 บาทต่อคน ส่วนเครื่องเล่นต่างๆเก็บค่าบริการตั้งแต่ 25 บาทขึ้นไป

นายวิลเลียม สตีเว่น ประธาน ยูเค ฟันแฟร์ กล่าวว่า ครั้งนี้เป็นการทำเวิลด์ทัวร์ในแถบเอเซีย ซึ่งสามารถทำสถิติผู้เข้าเล่นมากกว่า 10 ล้านคนในช่วง 2 ปีที่ผ่านมา ตั้งแต่ในประเทศฮ่องกง เซี่ยงไฮ้ ปักกิ่ง ไทย ซึ่งเครื่องเล่นต่างๆที่นำเข้าในครั้งนี้มีมาตรฐานและการลงทุนทางวัสดุอุปกรณ์สูงมาก เครื่องเล่นส่วนใหญ่แปลกใหม่ที่ไม่เคยมีในเมืองไทย มีเพียงในยุโรปหรืออเมริกาเท่านั้น โดยเครื่องเล่นทั้งหมดมีกว่า 150 ชนิดรวมมูลค่า 1,800 ล้านบาท จัดแสดงมาแล้วทั่วโลก ทั้งนี้เครื่องเล่นทั้งหมดได้ผ่านการตรวจสอบจาก IAAPA ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรดูแลระบบสวนสนุกทั่วโลก

Joint venture plans fairs across Asia

Matching Entertainment Co, a subsidiary of SET-listed Matching Studio Plc, plans to form a joint venture next year with UK FunFairs Co, the world's biggest mobile amusement park operator, to stage carnivals across Asia.

The joint-venture agreement is expected to be concluded by the end of Bangkok World Carnival 2004-05, the companies' first venture. The event, costing 130 million baht to organise, will be staged at Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi from Nov 24 until Feb 14.

William Stevens, the chairman of UK FunFairs, said the joint venture was the first for the 100-year-old London-based company with any foreign partner.

Matching Entertainment was chosen due largely to its experience in organising shows and events with support from skilled staff, he said.

UK FunFairs has staged carnivals worldwide but still has a low profile in Asia, though it has held events in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong

Mr Stevens said that if the venture was formed, the Bangkok office would become a base to expand business in the region.

The company spends about US$40 million annually to buy amusement equipment to keep its leadership in the world market.

Matching Entertainment's CEO, Somchai Cheewasutthanond, said the mobile amusement park business had huge potential in the region, especially in Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia, where there were few or no modern amusement parks.

The Bangkok World Carnival 2004-05, the first of its kind in Thailand on such a large scale, will feature more than 150 types of amusement attractions, costing 1.8 billion baht. Equipment installation is now 50 percent complete.

The 84-day carnival, occupying a 40-rai site, is projected to attract at least two million visitors and to contribute 40 million baht in profit to Matching.

Meanwhile, How Come Entertainment Co, partly owned by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's son Panthongtae, will stage a similar carnival, also with equipment imported from the UK, during the same period.

However, Mr Stevens declined to comment on the rival, saying it would be up to consumers to choose.

How Come's carnival will be held on a 15-rai site previously occupied by the now-closed Brew Pavilion pub on Ratchadaphisek Road in Bangkok.

The carnival is scheduled from Dec 2 to Jan 9 and is aiming to attract at least 2.5 million visitors.

"แม็ทชิ่ง" เตรียมรับรู้รายได้จากสวนสนุกเคลื่อนที่จากอังกฤษ 40 ล้านบาท คาดทั้งปีมีกำไรสุทธิใกล้เคียง 2546 หลังหนังซีอุยฉุดไตรมาส 3 กำไรวูบ เผยแนวโน้มธุรกิจปีหน้าการแข่งขันสูง หวั่นเกิดการแย่งชิงบุคลากรขึ้นในระบบอุตสาหกรรม



นายสมบุญ ชีวสุทธานนท์ รองกรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัทแม็ทชิ่ง สตูดิโอ เปิดเผยว่า การนำสวนสนุกเคลื่อนที่ของบริษัทยูเคฟันแฟร์ จากประเทศอังกฤษเข้ามาในงานบางกอกเวิลด์ คาร์นิวัล ระหว่างวันที่ 24 พ.ย.47-14 ก.พ.2548 ซึ่งบริษัทในฐานะผู้จัดการและประสานงาน จะรับรู้รายได้โดยไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ ทั้งสิ้น จึงคาดว่าจะรับรู้รายได้ตลอด 3 เดือนที่มีการจัดงานประมาณ 1 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือประมาณ 40 ล้านบาท ทำให้รายได้รวมในปีนี้จะปรับตัวเพิ่มขึ้นจากปีก่อน และไตรมาสที่ 3 ที่มีผลขาดทุน

โดยผลประกอบการในงวด 9 เดือนแรกของปีนี้ บริษัทมีรายได้รวม 685.71 ล้านบาท คิดเป็นกำไรสุทธิ 31.21 ล้านบาท เมื่อเทียบกับงวดเดียวกันกับปีก่อนที่มีรายได้รวม 521.511 ล้านบาท และกำไรสุทธิ 45.96 ล้านบาท ส่วนผลประกอบการเฉพาะไตรมาส 3/2547 บริษัทมีรายได้ 212.23 ล้านบาท และกำไรสุทธิ 7.17 ล้านบาท เทียบกับงวดเดียวกันกับปีก่อนมีรายได้ 145.50 ล้านบาท และกำไรสุทธิ 9.37 ล้านบาท

"หากบริษัทไม่ขาดทุนจากหนังเรื่องซีอุย และโชว์ที่นำเข้ามานั้น เชื่อว่าบริษัทจะมีอัตราการเติบโตของกำไรที่ดีอย่างมาก แต่ผลขาดทุนทำให้กำไรในปีนี้อาจจะไม่โตจากปีก่อนเท่าที่ควร อย่างไรก็ตาม เราก็มีการนำสวนสนุกเข้ามา ซึ่งบริษัทจะรับรู้รายได้เต็มๆ ไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ จึงเชื่อได้ว่ารายได้ในปีหน้าจะปรับตัวดีขึ้น" นายสมบุญกล่าว

ทั้งนี้สวนสนุกเคลื่อนที่นำเข้ามาจัดแสดงในงานบางกอก เวิลด์ คาร์นิวัล จะจัดขึ้นที่บริเวณริมทะเลสาบเมืองทองธานี บนเนื้อที่ 30 ไร่ โดยบริษัทคาดว่าจะมีผู้เข้าชมงานไม่ต่ำกว่า 2 ล้านคน ภายในระยะเวลาเกือบ 3 เดือนที่จัดงาน ซึ่งจะตรงกับช่วงเทศกาลต่างๆ และน่าจะเป็นสิ่งที่จูงใจที่ทำให้มีผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมงานจำนวนมาก โดยในเบื้องต้นค่าบัตรผ่านประตู 30 บาทต่อคน นอกจากนี้ยังมีการจัดงานคอนเสิร์ต บีเดย์ ของศิลปินค่ายเบเกอรี่ มิวสิค คาดว่าน่าจะสร้างรายได้ให้บริษัทในระดับที่ดี เนื่องจากได้รับความสนใจเป็นอย่างมาก

สำหรับแนวโน้มการประกอบธุรกิจในปี 2548 ประเมินว่าการแข่งขันในอุตสาหกรรมจะมีสูง เนื่องจากคู่แข่งมีเงินทุนจำนวนมาก อีกทั้งยังมีรูปแบบของการทำธุรกิจที่คล้ายคลึงกัน และยังมีคอนเนคชั่นที่ค่อนข้างดีในการติดต่องาน ซึ่งอาจมีการแย่งตัวพนักงานข้ามบริษัทระหว่างบริษัทใหม่ อย่างไรก็ตาม บริษัทมีความเชื่อมั่นในศักยภาพของการบริหารงาน และทีมงานที่มีคุณภาพ จึงน่าจะสามารถแข่งขันในธุรกิจได้

Oh comon, dont just ignoring the fact that gambling already common here in Thailand and why just dont make it regalise instead of playing "hide and seek" like right now.

Sweden just legalized casinos a couple of years ago and there are three or four state owned casinos with realatively strict rules and limitations. Everyone with net access and a credit card have access to a world of cansino gambling these days so here they felt it necessary to take control of some of the gambling at least.

I don't know if these casinos are better or worse for people obsessed with gambling, but at least some of the money can go back to the local economy and some can be used to rehabilitate those with an addiction (I assume they'd use some money for that). In any case I think those casinos shouldn't be privately owned.

Agree Chad. But by not doing it they can always have something to promise people, and can squeeze people when they need to...always the way...

I have always supported leglising underground parts of the economy, like gambling, but would be very worried if casinos were controlled by the Thai government.

Chad, thats why I said "minus the casino" as I don't think that the PM and TRT will approve casinos in the Kingdom in the near future but if they do I would put my money (no pun intended) on it being in Pattaya, not MTT.

So do you know if this project is still going ahead?
