Not bad, but the base and crown don't really fit with the rest of the building, and luckily we're not rating interiors because that one's crap, too tacky...

A terribly dated design. Is there proof that this wasn't actually designed in the 60's? The building looks nice from one angle, and like banal crap from the other two. Also, I have never been a fan of these "flying saucer" restaurant things placed on top of highrises. Yuck!

Yuck! I may have liked it if I was much younger though.

6.5/10 - The curved section of blue glass curtain wall is really sharp, and the globe looks nice at night. The combination of shapes also has definite possibilities.
Probably the biggest problem is that the stone sections of the facade, which are most of it, are, except for the striped sections near the curtain glass, very dull and poorly done - the windows, once again, look like holes in a cheese grater! It would have looked a lot better if they'd used the contrasting strips of glass and stone over the rest of the facade, and perhaps make them vertical, or had metal mullions, or something...And I'm afraid that globe doesn't look so nice during the day - maybe it should have been faceted, made of the same glass on the facade?

absolutely ghastly... to think that it was built in 1999?!!

bland facade, irritatingly shiny and passe blue glass, and messy bunch wires arranged into a ball at the top. the building is much uglier on the outside than the already tacky inside.

It's a little too ostentatious, like it belongs in Las Vegas. And even then, the overall design doesn't seem coherent. 4.5/10.

too many variations on the facade, they should just choose one out of the three, but the revolving restaurant's awesome.

The architect couldn't choose whether he wanted to design a modern box, post-modern tower or a tv tower. So he merged them in this terrible tower. Quite funny though. 2/10

The glassy facade is pretty good - but the weird top has to go! 6/10.

Not bad, I quite like it.

It's well-proportioned and the colours of the lower and mid-section are nice. The ball and disk section at the top would look better in a golden colour though - it seems a bit drab as it is.

Remove the "metal ball" from the top, place it as a sculpture in front of the bldg, scrap that piece of crap and build something decent. Looks like some cheap hotel/casino w/a middle east flare. Bleh....

This would have been very good if they went all the way with the protuding floors from the rounded glass cladding, like it is near the top. That's the part of the building I prefer. The crown looks horrible by day, luckily the night look is good ^^

I'm quite sad I voted it quite low. I've seen it in real and in fact it looks quite good in its environment. The revolving restaurant is not disturbing at all from a lot of angles and some elevations look really nice. The building's facade is very beautiful and well maintained. This is a Hilton hotel, if I remember correctly.

I would re-rate it 7.5

I kinda think that in the dark old days of China's Cultural Revolution, these incompentent "architects" would have been jailed if not executed for creating this kind of garbage buildings, albeit from a totally different point of view.
