Nice, well structured skyline. I have always liked Nairobi for its relative modernness compared to other African cities. There is a good collection of architectural features, and nice to see new construction still happening. Has a well-defined core and density, which could still be improved with infill, and further on, more height.

Nairobi is a nice city (at least the centre), and I'm proud to say I've been there :) I suppose it is one of the better african skylines, and it is modern, but imo it can't compete with many others around the world on share scale. Still cozy, though. 6/10

I'm pleasenlty surprised, never expected Nairobi to have such an amazing skyline...9.5/10

I love the last sets of pics and Nairobi will only get better with all the projects in the works.

Nairobi is growing really fast. It will soon have two skylines (the old city centre which most pictures here represent and another one developing towards the west of the city). I cant find a better example of sub saharan Africa (excluding South Africa) rising from its global perception of poverty. Many nations in Africa are now stable and are growing economically in the south (South Africa, Namibia,Zambia,Mozambique, Angola) in the east (Kenya-where nairobi is, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda) and the west (Nigeria and Ghana)At this rate we may have The African Lions (much like the Asian Tiger nations) in the near future.

no, i don't make mockery of the rating, nairobi is a great city inside of africa, is the second best skyline of Africa for me (after Johannesburg).

my english is not good but i will try to explain you, i rate a skyline considering:

1.- the ubication: i don't rate a 5 to Stockholm, for example, just fot the city hasn't many biuldings like Chicago or Hong Kong.

2.- the Biuldings: i rate the tall, and if i like the biuldings.

3.- What the skyline expresses: some skyline expresses a city polluted, contaminated, and stress, and other expresses, Tranquility, quality of life and safety.


i don't know how you rate, but, for me, is this way

Yes, I believe the Jomo Kenyatta Conference Center is the best example of sub-saharan African inspired architecture. :)
