I took this today... are they just putting these black things up now, or have they always been there?

certainly an improvement. normally they have scaffolding up etc, if the whole bldg is going to be done.maybe just first level?

if u look on both sides of it there is scaffolding. If it was only on the Aurora side, id assume they were working on aurora... but its on the oppisite side 2. u can see them in my pic

It would be good if it is being clad, but I think it may just be the street level facade.

I was thinking about this just the other day as I was looking at the Aurora thread and when you look at the top of the building it is already clad with the same sought of thing. Lets hope they are going to do the whole thing.

Sure, the brown cladding is gross, but so is the black glass...looks extremely 80's tacky.

hopefully theyll re-do the windows to go along with the black as well. otherwise it WILL look tacky.

I dont think they could make it look any worse, but I too hope they do the windows. IMO that was the main downfall of the council executive building reno, grey and white with brown windows, just cos it is a patch job doesnt mean it has to look like a patch job.

^^ that is bloody terrible. Why would they have it like that? 1 colour dammit! thats all they need to do to make it look good. Paint it all that green/grey colour and id be happy with it.

About this building... Im not sure what theyd have to do to the windows to have them match the black?

Whether it looks tacky, and like a patch job or not, I think it would still be a great improvement, and if they do the whole thing (incl windows) it might actually look bearable.

Has anyone noticed the top of the building?
It also appears to have the same black facade.

(It's hard to tell while driving over the Story Bridge)

I was reading the thread pretty thoroughly, thinking "wow, I didn't know about this", then I checked the date.

Where the hell did you find this old thing?! hahaha.

Lol - I started reading it and thought 'this came up a couple of years ago, maybe they are actually refurbishing it this time'... then started thinking 'this sounds almost the same as the discussion a couple of years ago' ... then I noticed the date... der
