Tmac..would u be able to tell me how tall the building with blue glass exterior and with the name of "sweet home" in the Gulshan-2 area would be.i ask this question cause it seems that the building hasn't yet been fully completed and is still under construction.

anyone know what this under construction building is? Is it the 20 storied National Sports Council (NSC) Tower? Construction started little over a year ago.....fast work!! Mirzazeehan, can you photograph this building please?

Tmac..am quite ashamed of the fact that i still havent been able to give u the Uday tower pics due to technical problems,but yes..i can take some pics of this under construction building.and i am not sure if it the NSC tower,will try to find out what it is.

What is that building to the right? I can see the Brac Centre and Rangs Waterfront in the middle of the photo. It looks like it's in Kamal Attaturk Ave. It looks to be pretty tall.

Tmac, the building in the Kamal Attaturk Avenue is probably a new Hotel called "Sweet home",and i am not really sure about what that tall building beside the bangladesh bank bhaban is.

There is only one tall building right next to SenaKalyan. And that is Bangladesh Bank's new Tower built back in the early 90's (or is it late 80's?).

Well, we can see from the pic that there is another building now across Shapla Chatter from Sena Kalyan. Probably an annex to a bank or insurance building IMO. but I do not know for sure. To me it does not look as tall as Sena Kalyan - it probably looks taller because it is closer in the pic.

actually dhaka is a lot more developed and better looking than most other cities in south asia and is doing quite well compared to other cities in the region.

i lost contact wif my good bangladish friend. he worked in malacca, malaysia and has gone back to dhaka. am glad to c the rapid development going on in dhaka. at least i know life is better now in dhaka and i need not worry about him. thanx for d photos, at least i get to c his living place

Dhaka is a city of now close to 15 million people - it is much easier for smaller city to be cleaner and prettier. When my parents were growing up in Dhaka, it had the reputation for being a clean and attractive town. But then, it had fewer than a million people. Also, Dhaka is not in competition with any city in India or Pakistan. But, for a the capital of a small nation with few resources, it's not doing too bad.

bandie, you are new in this forum and it seems you are trying to rack up as many posts as you can in first few days. Welcome to the forum but you must follow the rules. You shouldn't go around insulting others cities and countries. You may disagree but you shouldn't offend anyone. Just because you think Mumbai , Calcutta is ahead of Dhaka doesn't mean that they are and vice versa. This is not a competition. South Asia as a whole is progressing at a fast pace. India's development is publicized more than Bangladesh' simply because India is a much bigger country, more media outlets, etc. You would be a fool to think that good things are not happening in Bangladesh. I hope it clears any misunderstandings. You are welcome to comment on any of the Bangladesh related topics but please use your judgement.
