Just as I pulled this thread up and started to read this, I saw that commercial come on for the first time! WEIRD!!! It doesn't just show the Miami skyline. It actually shows quite a bit of downtown Miami including Metrorail as this woman is running around shopping, running errands, and playing tennis. It's one of the better Miami commercials I've seen. :)

^^^^Love it, Miami305!
I've seen that ad before and it's fairly spot on. "Undefeated" may have been a lifetime ago but that's precisely why it just gets bigger with each passing year. That's how it is with a season that NOBODY in any sport has ever equaled (and can't really surpass, unless someone knows of some weird math where ZERO losses on your ledger can be improved upon)
I also love the fact that other fans (especially those unibrowed jagovs known as Jets fans) are forever perturbed whenever it's mentioned.
Honestly, you could make a very strong case that it's the ONLY season in professional sports history that actually grows in stature over time. And it belongs to Miami.
God, I loved that Super Bowl a few years ago when the Patriots came "thisclose" to doing it, but failed at the very end. I'll always have a soft spot for the Giants for doing us that favor and making Bill Belichick look like he had just ingested a truckload of rotten lemons.
That NBA ad is really good, too, but it seems to veer more towards the cliched "South Beach/Neon/Deco" shot than the brief downtown looks. Either way, it's cool and makes every city featured look great.
I just wish the damn announcers would stop saying they're in South Beach so often and just stick to Miami. They all seem to do it pretty frequently.
I know it's not really a big deal, but it just sounds so touristy to me. The NBA Finals may be celebrated in South Beach (although I suspect the more honest joy is being displayed in Hialeah and Liberty City) but the the actual games are in MIAMI.
I'm going to call Craig Sager and bitch him out about it...along with his ugly, peach-colored suits.
