The foundations are at present level with street level and the core is now at level 6. There is one crane on site; a Lindores crane.

Hey, you know the other new building just next door to Harmony - the one that has been topped out for a while, but was still having internal work done - is that one completed yet? And do you know its name? Thanks!"
Muse November 30th, 2002, 01:21 PM finn, when i enquird to the developers about the apartment construction next door to Harmony, they just referrd to it as Emag Tower.
Whether a new name wil apply to it on its completion, is yet to be seen.
Muse February 2nd, 2003, 03:51 AM Apart from finn who had trouble posting, this is becoming my very own construction thread; all mine to post in.....lololol!!
Core box is now 8 levels above ground and the first 2 floors are now being constructed.

finn February 8th, 2003, 05:11 AM I'd thought I'd give posting a try and see if its working now, to save you from a constant string of only museumb replies! ;)
Went for a brief walk the other day and had a quick glimpse at the site and all looks good! The tower next door to Harmony (on Quay St - never know what to call it) looks very good as well!
Anyway, thanks for the update muse and please keep it up - it is very much appreciated by those of us (or me at least) who love the smaller developments as much as the bigger ones! ;)
Muse May 11th, 2003, 01:51 AM Gee, it is still basically a museumb only thread (thanks finn for your one post :okay: ).
Harmony qualifies as a scraper yet nobody is bothering to take pics of its construction.
....and believe me, there would be some great photo opportunities down there on Quay Street at the moment.
People with digi-cams, make that little special effort!!!!!

I think the deep hole has been and gone! From what I could see from my uni building, the construction is several levels above ground already now!
CULWULLA May 28th, 2003, 05:50 AM pic from today! over 10 levels above grd already!

Fabian May 31st, 2003, 12:24 AM I went right past this site yesterday but could not get a picture. It was very noisy as there were concrete trucks out the front.
CULWULLA June 27th, 2003, 05:46 AM from st martins today. looks like harmonys core is nearly full height!

Fabian June 27th, 2003, 08:55 AM It's so short I barely even notice that this tower exists at all. I didn't even know where it was when it first came out for sale.

fab, not all new apartment towers in Sydney are going to be 230m tall! some are actually human scale or modest heights such as harmony at 15storeys/50m high. The area has a 50m height limit eactly because the council dont want towers to stand out and dominate the area.
Fabian July 10th, 2003, 03:23 AM The floorplates are now up to level 11 and the core is about level 13/14.
Muse July 10th, 2003, 08:00 AM IMHO This will be one of the better desinged mid-rise Meriton apartments in Sydney's southern CBD. Time will tell on its completion.

Thats Absurd. If The Peak dominates that end of town, then some tall scrapers should be permitted to bring some balance to the skyline. The area needs to be developed to it's potential. There needs to be more commercial development in the area too as to bring some workers into this forgotten part of the CBD.

Core has topped out.
Fabian July 27th, 2003, 10:18 PM Harmony looks quite tall in the distance but it's disappointing it won't be a standout in the area thanks to the stupid height limit.
Muse July 27th, 2003, 11:02 PM Yeah, it's a bit of the 'foot soldier look' with the cluster of the Flight Centre Building, Country Comfort Hotel and the E-Mag Apartments next door on Quay St. It looks as if Harmony might be slightly taller than the E-mag construction (can't tell as yet).
Guess they want as much sunlight into Central Square as possible but it get's sooooo hot in summer if you're waiting for the bus right in the middle.
Skyline-wise, I don't mind this cluster with the Marcus Clark Building (TAFE Bldg W) and its spire 'n ball standing out about the rest.
BTW I'm trying to imagine a taller Harmony.
heyhey August 21st, 2003, 12:54 PM Walked past there the other day, it really is moving along at full pace. The dark red brick work looks great. I not sure about the building next to it though, but I think Harmony will be one good looking apartment block!!
climbing_crane August 21st, 2003, 01:45 PM It will be very harmonius.:)
Trances August 21st, 2003, 03:40 PM See this one heaps

not far off completion!
Fabian September 30th, 2003, 01:11 AM I'm not all that impressed with the look of harmony at the moment. Yeah it blends in with the building next door but it just doesn't look all that right to me.
