Norway is big and active enough to support a subsection, actually this is something we need right now to continue growing and attract more forumers. After a bit of discussing the subject we have ended up with two choices, a subsection for the city of Oslo (obviously with Bærum, Asker etc.) or a subsection just for the Fjordcity project.

Subsection of Oslo
Is a clear subsection and will most likely be most attractive. However, right now about 70% if not more of the activity in the Norway section is in Oslo's threads, this mean the rest of the Norway section might turn small and somewhat inactive?

Subsection of Fjordcity
Start small? Fjordcity is a large project, with 13 very active threads concerning different projects in Fjordcity, and there is lots of future projects waiting to be discussed.

I vote for the "test-run", ie Fjordcity!:)

I voted for a Fjordcity test-run also. Let's see how this turns out.

Actually I'm against having a subsection at all, I just felt compelled to vote something.

@Onthenorth: In my first suggestion, I placed the skyline-thread in the Fjordcity-section. Mainly, this is because both Fjordporten and Krystallklar are so far in the future, I don't have to take it into consideration, yet!:lol:

I guess it all depends on the possible rise in activity or lack thereof.

I vote Oslo. Both because there may be some doubt about whether or not a project belongs in Oslo or Fjordcity treads, but more importantly because I would like to see more Oslo treads as I think the current Oslo Development treads picture updates usually are too big to follow. It's scrolling for your life. It does gets tiresome when enough people have been out taking pictures. I would prefer to see one tread dedicated to Oslo inner city (inside ring 3) and one to suburbia for example.

Fjord-city. Like some said, having an "Oslo"-subsection would make the main page dead, which would be depressing.

It'll probably work fine anyhow, but I still think it'll be hard to divide between fjordcity and Oslo S/kvadraturen/Aker Brygge/downtown Oslo. Suggestion: Fjordcity and downtown/central Oslo in one subsection, including filipstad and kvadraturen, while local satelite centers, such as Økern, are held outside together with other developments in Oslo and Akershus.

In that way, the new subsection will cover the projects with skyline impact, it'll cover all projects connected to the main hub in Norway and it'll cover the projects that produce threads that have themes in common. At the same time, the section will be sort of a showcase on its own, which is perhaps kind of the idea?

Still unsure whether it's better than just 'Oslo', though..

I vote for "Oslo Fjordcity". Like mentioned, the main page would feel quite dead, besides, the activity in the Oslo threads dont justify an own section IMO. Its rather to get a better overview on the different threads belongs to the fjordcity, mainly threads with construction updates.

How about Oslo inner city subforum then? Then we would still get all the projects at Løren, Økern, Fornebu and other suburbia projects at the front page.

I can`t make up my mind here! I see the point of the the main page becoming dead, so for that sake I might vote for Fjordbyen, but we need to include Oslo in the name, so the foreign visitors understands what it`s about.

The most important for me however is that we split Oslo development thread into 3-4 threads, for example Økern, Nydalen, Løren and Fornebu. This is projects that will be going for another 10+ years, and it`s just going to be more and more messy if we keep them together. Vulkan is a good example of this, I enjoy to follow updates on that thread because I can compare it to earlier posts and get the full picture.

I do have a hard time to make up my mind, but i voted Oslo because i feel it will be the best for Oslo, as well as it will make many of the current city threads in the main section more visible.

Both Bergen, Trondheim and similar threads drown in Oslo threads, and this is the places we need the most new forumers from right now. I would not mind creating a few more threads about the biggest projects in these cities to ease the size of the main development threads, and if all Oslo threads move into a new subsection there will be much room for this. As for now i am not really afraid that the main section will be inactive, actually it might be positive since it will be easier to find interesting information, which is a essential cause for new forumers to register on SSC.

I vote for Oslo for the same reasons as mentioned above - don't want to divide the city between 2 sub-sections, and i want more treads both for the city and "bygde-Norge:)".

Voted for Oslo.

It would look much cleaner with all Oslo-related threads in one place.
Easier to navigate, find and follow projects.
It would also relieve the main page, wich also makes that one easier to navigate.

I'm confident that there will be activity, and we'll probably attract som new users as well.

By second thought, Oslo wouldn't be that bad if we managed to keep the rest of the forum active, as well..

Whatever you choose to do, just do it quick.. I bumped the Bergen-thread like 2-3 days ago, and it's already half-way down the page..

So it looks like we're going for a Oslo subsection. I will discuss this with the admins then we will see how soon we get a new section.
