That's the first thing that came to my mind as well. Also looks like the boom of the crane will actually pass over the transmission lines.

The transmission lines are being shifted to a height so as to facilitate eastern freeway to cross over wadala road to meet APLR. The project is not close to the lines. Monorail and eastern freeway is very close

This area has a long way to go!! Doesn`t look like there is going to be major demand for this location in the near future. Its apparently pretty close to where Lodha is coming up with ( already soft launched) project they are doing with MMRDA.

There is already Bhakti park which is full plus IMAX theatre, where ever u built houses there always wil be demand. Monorail is gonna serve quite well connecting them go eastern suburbs, central mumbai

Well yes and no, It will depend on many variables! Just a cinema or another project is not sufficient to fuel demand. Yes absolutely in the "long run" this area has scope esp with Lodhas development and plans. It will also hinge on the price points of the projects here. If they are significantly lower than other parts of central. The monorail will surely assist raising demand- yes.

Actually not sure where you are from, but I have seen massive development in the Wadala area since the early 2000s. This would be the next area builders would be looking at for development.

Hey. Sure, maybe you are right. The city anyway is now turning into many cities in 1. Each area having their own supply/demand dynamics and social infrastructure!

Good catch 101. That looks like almost 10 towers silhouetted . Some of them seem like 60 fl in comparison to Aeon (hard to make out from the render- had to squint!)

100 ACRES !!!

My rule of thumb says 60-75 Hiranandani, dlf - Hafeez Contractor type buildings can fit in. Going by renders here, it looks like a denser model. They are clubbing multiple towers together and saving even more space in between.

I'll safely bet there will be up to 1/2 dozen 100 story towers, give it time. Why? Builders like to build momentum slowly by releasing the most do-able and sale-able towers first. As things ramp up there is room for exotic releases. I'd keep the momentum going and wait till 2014 election time to let politicians announce the big, juicy headline grabbing mega towers.

Anybody has any news of the progress with the development of Wadala, as the new Business hub?

There was a flood of news paper articles on "plans" at one time. Once required number of apartments got sold off the articles seem to have dried up.
It appears that all apartments weren't sold and the high luxury ones (fur to six bedroom ones) were withheld to be sold at a higher price once construction had progressed.

Develpers are waiting for the inauguration of the Eastern Freeway and Monorail. (Metro appears to have been just a Red herring), after which anther flurry of articles will come up, this time accompanied by ads for luxury apartments in the under construction buildings which would have reached sky high by then, and quoting prices that are equally sky high.
