The tallest of the three miesan buildings is the TD bank tower, the second tallest is the Royal Trust tower, and the two short towers are, on the right, the IBM tower, and on the left, the CU tower. .


Commerce Court West

Designed by IM Pei, this tower is a previous Canadian number1, it is 57 stories, 239m (784ft). It was the first building in the world to be equipped with Otis double decker elevators. The tower is part of a group of four buildings surrounding a public space dominated by a monumental fountain.

First Canadian Place

Designed by Edward Durell Stone & Assoc, it was one of the first buildings to be equipped with double decker elevators, it is 290m (952ft) high.

Canada Trust Tower

This tower is part of an ensemble including a second, lower tower, the Bay Wellington tower, 47 stories, and a converted arcade designed by the Catalan architect, Santiago Calatrava. Designed by SOM, the Canada Trust tower is 263m (863ft) high.


Toronto City Hall

Ever since it's completion, the Toronto City Hall has become an internationally recognised monument. It was built from the design of Finnish architect Viljo Revell after he won the international competition for its design in 1957.

Sunlife Towers

This is one of two identical towers situated across the road from each other.

Scotia Bank Plaza

At the north and south entrances two large glazed canopies artificially re-establish the alignment of the tower with the street. The main banking hall is lit from above by an 11 story atrium and a set of light wells which also light the pedestrian area of the basement. Designed by The Webb Zerafa Menkes Housden Partnership and is 275m (902ft).

FCP is actually 298.1m (978ft) to the roof and 355m (1165ft) with the antenna
