They say it has a GLA of 55,000m2.....almost three times the size of the Palms, but nothing spectacular.

I guess if it only caters for the Eko Atlantic area...then it is adequate.

^^I'm thinking Eko Atlantic will have more than one mall, so people won't have to travel across the city just to go to the mall. So maybe some other investors will go for a really fancy look; maybe a mall thats built upwards instead of sideways.

Eko mall has a website, but only just a few animation pictures on it: http://eko-mall.com/

Eko Mall aims to set a new benchmark in mixed-use shopping and entertainment development in Lagos. Currently under construction, the project opens in the second quarter of 2013. Its iconic design, will become a new Nigerian landmark. The mall’s strategic location just off Victoria Island, in most prestigious expansion zone, serves a total population of over 16mln

Project Traffic - 40,000 visitors per day on weekends

Don't know about others, but I personally do not fancy going up and down elevators all day in the guise of shopping. Frankly, the typical neighborhood mall ideally should not more than 3 or 4 levels.

Vertical malls seem so unnatural to the tendency to move laterally from shop to shop. Personally, when I travel I tend to avoided places like Times Square in Hong Kong or the Manhattan Mall in New York.

Yeah. I think that is about right because its about twice the size of the Ikeja Mall, which from start to end would have taken about a year and half to complete.

The opening date for Eko Mall would indicate its construction would take 2 years.

When did you think it would open?
