Please feel free to post other pics of snowing in queensland... i heard once on the news that Mt Bartle Frere (the highest mountain in queensland) up past cairns can often get light snow on its peak, some high mountains near mackay can get a light dusting at their peak aswell apparently.

the closest it ever came to snow in brisbane was extreme hail which started turning into snow before it just stopped.

And the toowoomba area and "South East Central" QLD has been known to get snow. i dont have any pics tho

I'm pretty sure stanthorpe is the most common place to get snow in QLD. But it still isn't a regular occurance.

Several Times it has snowed on Mount Glorious Village in the last 20 years (30k nw Bribane - elev approx 600m). In 1984 when I lived in samford I drove up to have a look, it was a light covering but definately there, it completely melted within 48 hours.

During that cold snap there was some reports on the news that snow flakes were hitting the top of the buildings in the CBD.

Also, apparently some snow did hit ground level in brisbane CBD during a cold snap in 1959.

It's been known to snow up mount tamborine, it certainly gets cold enough, just too dry most of the time.

I beleive this to be true. Some oldtimers said that it snowed on Lister Street in Sunnybank during a cold winter in the sixties !!! :wtf:

Sleet isn't unusual on Mt Barney. Problem is it could snow in the Border Ranges from time to time and nobody would ever know.

Chance events like these are bound to given enough of a time frame
